to play and I didn't hear one song that I didn't request. They also were able to learn new songs. Most bands will not do that. We used them for the ceremony (a guitarist and keyboardist), for the cocktail hour in a separate location, and for dinner in the ball room where the reception took place. It was never an issue to get them to haul their instruments around the site. They also accompanied 3 of my friends during the ceremony who sang a special song for my husband and I. They were easy to work with. Always responded to calls or emails the next day if not sooner. In comparison with the bands I was looking at, they were the most reasonably priced... and worth every penny! They helped me create and followed a schedule for the big night. They had stage presence. And what I mean by that is that they have their own lighting, signage, and also had the audience's attention with the music the entire night. Lucky Penny kept the guests entertained the whole time. My 80 year old grandpa was dancing along with my 20-something year old friends. It was incredible. We got married over 6 months ago and still have people complimenting us to this day about how much fun they had at our wedding-- including while in attendance at other friend's weddings! I know it was primarily because of Lucky Penny.

started! Their sound was terrific and the knew exactly how to keep everyone entertained. When communicating with them before the wedding, my questions were answered quickly and any fears I had were eased. Lucky Penny was not only professional, but fun, entertaining and the life of the party!

lly wanted to party. Our main goal was to have the dance floor packed the entire night! They did just that! I wasn't at cocktail hour but my guests said they played some nice background music (keyboard and sax) - which is exactly what we wanted. They took their dinner break during the first 1/2 of dinner and I gave them an MP3 set list to play. (Journey, 38 special, Michael Buble, Jack Johnson and some other slow favorites of ours). They came back during dinner and played a few more of their slow songs and then started the party! They did/played exactly what I wanted them to. (I had an agenda laid out for the evening & we had picked out specific songs from their playlist) They are also awesome on the microphone and did an amazing job with introductions and other items that needed to be read throughout the evening. Alisa (their coordinator) is also great! She kept everything on track and literally had her eyes on Chad and I throughout the evening in case we had a special request or needed anything. She stepped in when help was needed and was really on the ball. They also changed their course on a dime when we needed to cut the cake at a different time because my dad wasn't in the room. Their vocalists were awesome at every song they sang! They even sang our first dance song, "I'll Be" by Edwin McCain. They also let our guests be interactive with them! I also LOVED the fact that they didn't look like a stuffy wedding band. They looked very professional but with more of a rockstar look.....Their set-up was very nice with lights and all of their equipment. My guests and family were very impressed and I would hire them again in a heartbeat! It was a great party! We hired them going off of a great reference from a past co-worker who had them at her wedding. (we never saw them live) And her review was very similar to mine. I don't regret (at all) hiring them.....they were awesome! The online MP3s probably aren't the best quality...don't go by that. The room we were in was a two story, open ceiling where the acoustics probably weren't the best.......and they still sounded amazing. The music can make or break your reception.......and they MADE OUR ENTIRE NIGHT! I still have friends and family that rave about our reception and Lucky Penny!

dern songs than the other bands we looked at potentially hiring. Most of the time when you hire a band, they know the same songs that EVERY wedding band knows, and they charge a fortune (8-10k). I would describe Lucky Penny as a more modern band, with more of a rock n' roll edge to them. When we first met them, we asked if they would hire a female singer and they did, and she was fantastic. Their pricing was very fair (keep in mind we had a wedding on a holiday, where bands charge a premium to perform (New Year's Eve) and they were very reasonable and so nice!). I have referred other friends to them and they were all extremely pleased as well. In my opinion, when you hire a wedding band, you can't depend on the band soley to create the atmosphere for your wedding. That's up to you as the bride and groom. If you're a fun and outgoing couple, and you have ready-to-party guests attending, you will be MORE than happy with Lucky Penny. So if the bride and groom get the party started, Lucky Penny will definitely keep it going! I would hire them again in a heartbeat. Don't mistake this band for the usual wedding band, they are the BEST wedding band!
