We're so happy that we chose Baby Soda for our wedding band! We had a special request to have both a New Orleans style second line and a Klezmer set, and Baby Soda did both fabulously! Very professional and positive experience all around. Would highly recommend!
We booked The Engagements for our wedding in August 2024 and it was awesome! They really really rocked. People still tell us months later how awesome they were. If you are considering hiring them for your wedding/event, you should absolutely do it.
They did the music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. During the ceremony they did instrumentals on keyboard and guitar. It was very tastefully done. At our request, they learned "Concerning Hobbits" (LOTR song) for our walk down the aisle. It sounded great. During the cocktail hour, they had a trio of guitar, drums, and stand up bass. They JAMMED. Multiple people mentioned to me during the hour how amazing they sounded. Finally, the reception was the highlight. They played for 3+ hours. People danced from start to finish. They played a wide range of stuff. Everyone in the band is very talented. JD Smoove's voice is face melting. The dance floor was packed all night and the energy was electric. The band also learned two special request songs for us, which meant a lot to us and made us really excited when they were woven into the set list.
Logistics-wise, Aaron is super accommodating and easy to work with. The perfect balance of letting us share our preferences while also guiding us with his industry and musical experience. The band is very thoughtful and experienced when it comes to setting up the space, optimizing the sound, etc. Everything sounded really good. They are super professional.
Overall, this band made our wedding! 10/10 would choose them again. Highly recommend.
We cannot speak highly enough about The Engagements who we hired through Lucy Music. Easily one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. From their videos on YouTube to their song list - we were confident from the start, but seeing them live was even better than we could have hoped for! The song list is spot on for those who don't want the same old wedding playlist, and one of the greatest joys we had in wedding planning was creating our list of 'must play' songs and getting so excited by the number of incredible things they can play. The flexibility and willingness to learn and play some songs for us added an incredibly personal touch to it all too.
They are incredibly easy to work with and shared in our excitement, making it all a complete pleasure. I cannot thank them enough, and hiring them will be the best decision you will make for your wedding!
Any questions?
I hired the TSQ trio for my wedding ceremony and cocktail hour at The River Cafe in Brooklyn. Aaron was so easy to work with and patient with my lack of knowledge/foresight and general indecision. The trio was such a special addition to my wedding.
Super professional, incredibly kind, very accommodating. An absolute pleasure to work with. Aaron was very gracious with us throughout the entire process, including some rather significant changes of plans. At every point in the process we felt attended to and appreciated, and the band we hired could not have been a better fit for our wedding. Would highly recommend.
We got married in May and for the ceremony we decided to hire TSQ to play a song that was very special to us and TSQ did an amazing job with the arrangement. The selection of settings they had was amazing and sounded so great. Everything was so beautiful and we had guests tell us how lovely the music was, can’t recommend enough!
I know it's standard to write 5 star reviews on these sites. I would give Aaron and The Engagements 10 stars if I could. Aaron really took the time to work with us and the venue in developing a set list and schedule that worked for us. And they BROUGHT IT on our wedding day. Absolutely killed it. People are raving about the band over a month later. Aaron really made the day special for us, and we are so grateful we could have The Engagements.
So happy that we had Lucy Music/The String Quartet perform at our wedding. They set just the right tone for the day. Their vast repertoire, expressive artistry, and flawless execution spoke to the amazing talent each musician has individually, exceeded only by their collective ability to fill the room with the perfect compositions. They were extremely professional and easy to work with day of and in the weeks leading up to the event. Planning our own wedding in New York was pretty stressful, but working with TSQ was extraordinarily easy and the end result sublime.
Lucy Music and the band we worked with, The Loyales were absolutely fantastic. My husband and I are big music fans and wanted to make sure that we had our guests up and dancing the entire evening and the Loyales delivered. They have an expansive song list, and even went out of their way to learn a few of our favorite songs which made the night absolutely magical. Milton has a fantastic voice and does a MEAN Bruce Springsteen (our favorite) and Julia is truly incredible - she has such vocal range and an awesome stage presence. Not only did they crush our wedding, but they were with us the night of our rehearsal dinner, playing piano and light music during the welcome cocktail reception and absolutely nailed it. They also played our ceremony music and really did such a fantastic job. I have tears in my eyes just thinking of how incredible the strings sounded at our outdoor, barn wedding. They were absolute pros with the mic and I didn't worry once about people not being able to hear, or poor sound quality. They nailed it all. We've had guests telling us since the wedding how awesome our band was - and I couldn't agree more. OH! And on top of all that, they're truly kind people and a joy to work with. I couldn't recommend Lucy Music enough. 15/10!!!
Where to begin? If you love good music and want real touring musicians with amazing energy who clearly love to play together, these are the bands for you. We had The Engagements at our wedding in Kingston, NY (Senate Garage) and Aaron was a pleasure to work with from the very start. My husband has played guitar since childhood and we knew we wanted a cool band that didn't have the cheesy wedding vibes. The Engagements welcomed Sam on stage and let him shred on a Thin Lizzy song, which will remain one of our favorite memories of our entire lives. Logistically, it was also a pleasure to have them take care of our ceremony and cocktail hour music as well. We can't express how many guests--spanning 40+ years in age--have continued to rave about The Engagements: their song repertoire, instrumental skills, vocals, fabulous energy and of course their natural chemistry on stage. They are truly an immensely talented group of friends and helped make the night so genuinely warm and exciting.
Working with Aaron at Lucy Music to help book our band, The Loyales was a seamless process. Their response times were efficient and communication was clear and concise. Very professional as well.
We highly suggest working with Lucy Music for any upcoming wedding or event. You won't be disappointed!
I highly recommend Lucy Music! Tribute String Quartet played at the cocktail hour and ceremony of my wedding and they were a huge hit all around. We coordinated with Aaron, who was super friendly and responsive to emails. The musicians were incredibly talented and professional. Everyone I interacted with at Lucy Music was great and easy to work with.
We love Lucy Music! They were so helpful in finding the perfect band for our wedding! Aaron was so easy to work with, and really made us feel hears in the music planning area of our wedding. The Loyales were absolutely amazing, and we cannot recommend them enough!
The Loyales killed it, and set the perfect mood at our wedding from start to finish. It started with a beautiful string quartet to greet our guests, which then flowed into our ceremony. And when the dance floor started, it didn't stop – our crowd included several professional musicians and a producer, and all night everyone kept telling us how good the band was. At the end of the night, people literally cheered for an encore (which they happily obliged :) If you want top 40 covers go elsewhere, but if you're a fan of 60s-70s hits like us, you can't go wrong here.
Our original wedding band canceled on us 5 days prior to our wedding in Alaska. The Engagements were available, extremely easy to work with and came highly recommended. It was a pleasure to communicate with them. They made the process extremely easy. Their performance was a highlight of our wedding. In hindsight, I am so glad that our original band canceled and we got to have The Engagements. Their sound and skill is truly excellent. I would recommend them to anyone who appreciates professionalism, extremely skilled musicians and a great party.
We are so thrilled that we booked Tribute String Quartet for our wedding! They performed for our ceremony and cocktail hour and so many of our guests commented on how amazing the quartet was. As a musician myself I an attest that they played brilliantly and that the arrangements were excellent. We asked that they play pop music (including doing two custom arrangements for us) and they totally nailed what we were looking for.
Did a great job in helping us select a great band for the rehearsal dinner
Lucy Music had the Tribute Strings Quartet play covers of mostly 80s pop songs during the cocktail hour and dinner of our wedding. It was a hit! We got numerous unsolicited comments about how fun they were!
The Engagements played our wedding at Full Moon Resort, and they knocked it out of the park! Aaron, who manages (and drums in!) the bands and bookings, is a terrific communicator. In response to my initial inquiry, I got an email with all kinds of specific and helpful information, including price breakdowns. Once we hired them, he handled all the logistics and communication with the venue, checked in with updates, and walked us through the process of working with them (like choosing songs and the making the reception schedule). They learned songs for our ceremony and prelude, and for the reception--including two that I sang with them. These guys are serious musicians and generous collaborators. The whole band was high energy all night, guests and staff were totally psyched about them, and this bride is a happy camper!
We loved working with the Tribute String Quartet (as a trio) for our intimate Prospect Park wedding this October! We felt taken care of from the moment we started emailing them: Aaron (our point-of-contact) was reassuring, full of helpful information, and professional. Their repertoire was wide-ranging, from modern to instrumental, and it was a treat to choose a custom song for the day as well.
Christina, Ali, and Emily were prompt, friendly, charming, and brought their craft into our wedding day with talent and care. We feel so lucky to have had this group as a part of our wedding day, and would recommend them for almost any context in a heartbeat.
We hired Baby Soda for our NYC wedding, and it was one of the best choices we made. Their prohibition jazz sound was exactly what we imagined for the day, and our guests loved it. Plus, Aaron and Peter were great to work with in the planning process. They offered song suggestions for key moments, and we took them up on each one. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a band to really set the scene!
We hired The Loyales for our August 2022 wedding. They provided the ceremony, cocktail, and reception music. We were so genuinely impressed with the Loyales and have received so many compliments from guests about the music. We cannot say enough good things. They accommodated an impromptu hoorah during our reception, learned our first dance song flawlessly, and accommodated our somewhat last minute request for a mini ABBA set! Everyone was on the dance floor all night. The presence of the band was exactly what we were hoping for - their announcements were seamless and not over-the-top. Communication was also easy; we had a myriad of questions and Milton/Aaron made it all straightforward in the end! Highly recommend the Loyales!! Thank you!
Hiring The Engagements as our wedding band was by far the best (and easiest) decision my husband and I made. They are so unbelievably talented - we knew when we saw their videos on IG and YouTube that we wanted them no matter what! Not only are they talented but their repertoire is EPIC... The kinds of songs you don't normally hear at a wedding but WISHED you did! We had so much fun going through the list and picking our "must plays", and then seeing our guests' reactions was everything! They also learned a handful of songs for us, to make our day even more special and personal, and honestly they crushed every single one.
Working with them, particularly Aaron, was such an absolute joy. They were all so kind, down to earth, professional and just overall great people! "Best band ever" was the phrase heard over and over throughout the night and it's true! HIRE THEM NOW
We hired The Engagements for our wedding this past June at the Prospect Park Boathouse in Brooklyn and it is not an understatement to say that they are the best wedding band we have ever seen and made our night an absolute blast. They kept everyone on the dance floor all night (across many different age groups) and we received dozens of compliments from our guests on how great they were. Their musical abilities and range of style are truly incredible. If you enjoy classic music from the 70s/80s/90s (e.g. Van Morrison, Stevie Wonder, Fleetwood Mac) then The Engagements are the band you’re looking for.
Not only did they make our wedding night special, but the band leader (Aaron) made the entire process extremely easy for us. As they had played the venue before, they also provided some very helpful tips for us to pass along to our other vendors which ended up being life savers. Aaron provided some excellent suggestions around which tracks to play throughout different parts of the evening which made the night feel very well paced. I can’t speak highly enough to his (and the entire band’s) professionalism, flexibility, and expertise. You should hire this band.
We hired The PreNups for our wedding, and wow, were they fantastic! We loved working with Ed to plan the event. We exercised the options to add in a female vocalist and a trombone player, and it was totally worth it. The crew worked hard to learn our very specific first dance song (thank you!). Our guests were raving about the band the night of and in the days to follow. My only complaint was that the night went by too quickly. I now want to find other weddings and events where they are playing, so I can go dance to them again.
Thank you to Tribute String Quartet for helping to make our ceremony special!
It was so easy working with Lucy Music, and we knew we were in great hands immediately after our first email exchange with Aaron. My only regret is that, as the bride, I didn’t get to enjoy as much of the music as my guests! But our guests absolutely loved the music, which elevated and enhanced our ceremony. Thank you, TSQ!
Punctuality, personality, professionalism, and a rocking good time—The Engagements have it all—can’t recommend them highly enough!!! They accommodated all of our special requests beautifully and did a fantastic job keeping everyone on the dance floor—months later, guests are still telling us how truly outstanding the band was, and we agree!!!
We hired TSQ via Lucy Music for our wedding ceremony. Aaron was super easy to work with and so helpful answering my (many) questions. Even better - they sounded fantastic! 100% would recommend!!
The Loyales are a pleasure to work with. During the pandemic they were flexible and communicative. They learned several songs for our ceremony without issue and the remainder of their song choices made for a great party. The reception felt like being at a concert and had everyone dancing the whole night. Highly recommended.
Throughout our wedding, my wife and I were consistently asked "Where did you find this band?" because The Engagements were absolutely phenomenal. Excellent musicianship, song selection and flow throughout our reception that was only matched by their professionalism that day (we faced some unexpected challenges which they handed beautifully) and in the lead-up to our wedding. I could not possibly recommend them more enthusiastically: top-notch in every conceivable way!
Beyond that, the entire experience with Lucy Music was excellent- Aaron is an enthusiastic collaborator and active communicator, which is so valuable when super stressed out planning a wedding. I am so thankful we chose The Engagements and Lucy Music.
Can't recommend Aaron and Lucy Music enough. The band he found was the highlight of my wedding. They brought everyone to the dance floor for a much needed release.
Aaron listened for what kind of music me and my fiancée were looking for. His responses were fast and clear, and he was a fair negotiator. The band had no problem cooperating with the ever-changing covid/social distancing rules in spring 2021.
There's not much to say about The Engagements that hasn't already been said. If the music at your party is important to you and you want to incorporate some deep cuts from the 70s/80s/90s, there's literally no better band than the Engagements. From their incredible song list to their absolute professionalism, The Engagements were an absolute joy to work with.
Before our wedding, Aaron took the time to talk to us about our likes/dislikes as well as answer any questions we had about how everything would work. The Engagements have a massive repatoire of songs and Aaron asked us to flag which songs we felt were "must plays" and which were "don't plays". He also asked us to produce a list of songs that weren't on the song list but which the band might be able to learn for us (they learned 4 songs off that list!). After sending those over, Aaron quickly followed up with some suggestions a little further off the beaten path that we might enjoy. He also used our second call to walk us through how the evening would unfold: when we'd enter for our first dance, when they would pause for speeches and breaks, and when the dancing would begin. Everything went incredibly smoothly the night of the party. From a vendor management perspective, we never had to worry.
When it came to the party, everything went even better than we could've hoped. My wife and I aren't great dancers, so we were nervous that the live accompaniment during our first dance might not match up exactly with the recording we'd practiced to. Well, we're happy to report that Aaron and the band played an absolutely perfect replica of our first dance song. Throughout the night, people kept asking us how we found the band since they were simulantanousely a great wedding band, yet not your typical wedding band. They got the entire party (including a few folks we've never seen dance before) out onto the dance floor all night long.
The last thing I'll add is that after the party, we had so many people request the set list that we made a Spotify playlist that's actually being used.
We were lucky enough to have The Engagements perform at our wedding this past July. Working with Aaron and Lucy Music was an absolute pleasure, and he made the entire experience smooth and stress free.
I am a musician and many of our friends/guests are musicians as well. Music was a very important aspect of our wedding going into planning and we wanted to make sure we had a real band with their own unique sound to get our guests going. Upon coming across The Engagements, I was wowed by their sound and the unique song selections they offered.
We reached out to inquire about booking and Aaron was super responsive and totally open. The entire process was a breeze and he made us feel totally comfortable throughout. We also had our wedding delayed a year due to COVID and Aaron could not have been more accommodating. It really made dealing with the mess of moving our wedding all that much easier.
Their performance at our wedding was one to remember. I can't count to number of guests that came up to us during the wedding and after telling us how great our wedding band was! The dance floor was packed all night and everyone had a blast.
I can't recommend The Engagements/Lucky Music enough for anyone looking for a wedding band. They are sure to provide a unique sound for your event and will certainly have your guests dancing!
We loved working with Lucy Music to book Baby Soda Jazz Band for our wedding! Aaron was great to work with and extremely responsive. Baby Soda was so talented. Together Aaron (Lucy Music) and Baby Soda saved our wedding when another music vendor we had hired to play at the ceremony cancelled last minute because of the weather. We strongly recommend Lucy Music and Baby Soda Jazz Band!
Milton and The Loyales were the perfect band for our wedding in October 2021! We didn't want a DJ or "loud party music" - we wanted a fun (but tame) band that would give our friends and family a great time. We found them through Lucy Music, the collection of bands that they're a part of, which was one of the groups recommended by our venue Brooklyn Winery for music. We reached out to them and sampled the music from several of their bands. The Loyales jumped out right away as the vibe we were going for. Aaron from Lucy Music & Milton from The Loyales were easy to work with throughout the planning process, from song selections to logistics. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a great band for their wedding!
My wife and I have been big fans of Baby Soda for years and were really happy that they could accommodate playing both at our wedding and our reception in consecutive weekends.
They were a big hit with our guests and we enjoyed having them play. If you are in NYC I highly recommend seeing them at St. Mazie and then having them at your event.
After postponing our wedding reception for 15 months, we were finally able to have the best party with the best wedding band in New York in June 2021. We knew it was going to be a special day, and The Engagements were one of the main reasons for it. Six months later, our wedding guests are still talking about how amazing they were and how it was just like seeing a concert by your favorite band. Not only do The Engagements sport an incredible song selection of 80s pop and new wave, they're amazing musicians and performers and they're just great to work with. They learned songs that were meaningful to us and played the most epic of epic horahs. The small combo they put together for our cocktail hour was fantastic too. My wife and I have nothing but positive things to say about the Engagements, and I've got my fingers crossed for an excuse to book them again sometime soon!
Our wedding celebration was such a success, due in tremendous part to the Lucy Music team (repping The Loyales, Baby Soda Jazz Band, and guitarist Michael Sheridan) carrying the mood through cocktail hour, dinner, and the reception--I can't even count how many people came up to us throughout the night to gush about how amazing the bands were.
Communication with Aaron and the whole team was seamless throughout our entire planning process, which included a lengthy postponement due to the pandemic. Everyone was easygoing, fun, and extremely professional.
There's something infectious about the energy surrounding live music, and Lucy Music has absolutely captured it. We truly can't thank them enough!
When I heard Tribute String Quartet's cover of "God Only Knows" by the Beach Boys, I knew I wanted to hire them for our wedding! Their repertoire list of pop song covers (and classical music) is extensive, creative, and fun. My husband walked down the aisle to "Take on Me" by A-Ha (his first choice was "Take My Breath Away" but I thought it would be too slow...) and I walked down the aisle to "God Only Knows." When you book them for your wedding, the package includes one original arrangement, so I asked for Sufjan Stevens's "Chicago" to be played during the cocktail reception. Having live music at our wedding was really important to me and Tribute String Quartet did a beautiful job. My communications with Aaron in advance of the wedding were excellent; he was very flexible and communicative, as we planned our wedding during the pandemic.
We used the Loyales through Lucy Music for our wedding up in West Park, NY! Our wedding was postponed because of COVID and they continued to be supportive and answered any questions needed quickly. We wanted to see them in person and couldn’t due to the pandemic. They were AMAZING. We’d hire them for anything. Everyone danced the whole night. Highly recommend!!!!! Every guest raved about them and it was a breeze to work with them. Also want to shout out Adam who hooked us up with the right band for our special night. Thanks again Lucy Music!!!!
From beginning to end The Engagements (Lucy Music) were awesome to work with. We were looking for a more alternative (read: classic rock, 80s) band for our wedding that would have our guests dancing all night. The Engagements did that and more - their talent is undeniable and we are so grateful they were there to help us celebrate our wedding. They were thorough and flexible when needed - working with our vendors seamlessly and creating a playlist that was authentic to us. We couldn't recommend them more and look forward to hiring them again for another event!
If you have the opportunity for these super talented, charismatic, professional, and all around awesome musicians to play at your wedding, please just go for it.
Pete and I have been lucky enough to hear a bunch of live music over the years (and even play some of it, although not particularly well). But being super into music, it was the one thing that we were extremely picky about when planning - and for some time we thought that what we wanted might not actually exist.
Enter The Engagements. From the moment we saw that song list, we were in love. Throw in some YouTube videos, rave reviews, and a super collaborative band leader to be in touch with, and we never looked back. From start to finish working with them was the easiest and most exciting part of our arrangements. Communicative, clear, flexible, enthusiastic and stone cold awesome musicians - they really met us where we were at and gave their all to give us everything that we requested. Because of the venue, there was some logistical stuff that made it necessary for things to be kinda fluid and never once was there anything but positivity on their end. Dare I say, they were the centerpiece of our wedding.
Besides the fact that they're phenomenal and we loved every single moment of them, the feedback from guests was also overwhelming. I cannot count the amount of times somebody asked us "where did you find this band?!" or "This band is amazing/awesome/incredible!" We also learned that friends of our parents were cooler than we thought when it turned out that they are huge fans of Bowie, Talking Heads, Prince. etc. Someone that I had never heard used expletives remarked something along the lines of "how the **** did you get a wedding band to play The Replacements?!".
And the answer is simply that The Engagements played at our wedding and because we asked them to please play Can't Hardly Wait they did, and it was phenomenal, and everybody loved it.
Listen, It's only been several days since our wedding, and (as we're waiting for transport to go have some fun) we needed to speedily let you know about how extraordinary this band is and how we are already trying to think of an excuse to throw another ridiculous party just to be able to do this all over again. Cheers to The Engagements, the way that they sound-tracked our wedding exceeded all expectations and will help us always remember it as fondly as we already do.
My husband and I cannot recommend the Engagements enough. Live music was one of the most important things to us, and most of the wedding bands we researched seemed similar, but what stood out about The Engagements was their specific style and genre (mostly 80s, 90s music). My husband plays guitar and had a great time talking music and set list with them. We primarily worked with Aaron and Emil who were fun and helpful with suggestions for our first dance and parent dances while also being flexible (and excited) about accommodating a few of our requests. We felt that we were in good hands from the time we started working with them all the way through to the big day, where they were just fantastic and one of the top highlights. Our guests loved them too and many said it was the best band they'd seen at a wedding, and are still talking about them even though we got married almost a year ago. The Engagements exceeded expectations in every way and my only piece of feedback is that they should perform in more public venues so we can see them again.
First and foremost let me mark this as a LGBTQA+ friendly band. Our wedding included my trans and NB friends both as guests and in the wedding party and The Engagements were so respectful of pronouns and it meant a lot to us. Please keep that in mind if that is something you require for your wedding as well!
Now, on to the meat and potatoes!!!
This band is INCREDIBLE!! Not only do they bring down the house with their amazing set list, but they work with you to make the song list personal. I was looking for a band that played music I actually listened to and The Engagements nailed it! For us they played Queen, Bowie, The Clash, Fleetwood Mac, Marvin Gaye, and heck they played the The Cure so hard my face melted off! They learned Tainted Love as a surprise for my mom, and they learned BTO for my dad on top of their already full and eclectic song list. It was beyond personal! They play the music you actually WANT to hear at a wedding, not the music you expect to and are tired of. They will work with you to find a set list you love and will have all of your guests screaming with joy, “OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS SONG!”. All of our guests loved them and spent the whole night dancing and telling us how great the band is. It’s been 3 months, and we are still hearing about how great the band was at our wedding! They really nailed the favorites. They played so many warm and nostalgic songs, the type of songs that you forgot you loved and immediately need to hear again. Every song was a hit with our crowd, every song had them singing along even when they were taking a dance break, and it just gave the whole party something truly special.
The whole band is so talented and easy to work with, it was the perfect soundtrack for our day. They made the whole process so effortless and Aaron could not have been more helpful. He is so professional and knows exactly what to do and work with all the vendors to make everything flow seamlessly. No need to fuss over details, just trust in Aaron and the Engagements. They know what they are doing and get it done.
Don’t just take this from a Bride, take it from someone who has been in and at dozens of weddings, this band is something special. They are frankly, the best. If you love music, you’ll love them. BOOK THE ENGAGEMENTS.
Recommended without hesitation. A big part of the best the best day of our lives. Besides marrying my wife, The Engagements' set was my favorite part of our wedding day. I have been a music nerd my whole life, so hearing them bring my favorite music to life made my dreams come true. Their performance was masterful, in particular their command of the songs I asked them to learn. I had their version of "Vitamin C" stuck in my head for about a week after they played it. The RAM covers were absolutely brilliant. The band was so good that they made me regret not hiring a videographer for the reception. The band was universally loved by our guests.
Aaron was a pleasure to work with. I knew we would get along from the moment I saw Devo on his setlist. Responsive, accommodating and genuinely enjoyed being a part of the event.
Milton and the Loyales were exactly what we had hoped for. They were really excellent musicians - much more than a 'wedding band' - able to cater to our close friends who love to dance, but also to an older generation. Everyone said afterwards how amazing they were! I would recommend them to anyone looking for a strong, more alternative (i.e. not 'Top-40') dance vibe. It was also great to work with Milton on a personal level - he was professional, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and really accommodating. Thank you Loyales!
The Loyales “made” our reception. Here was the thank you I sent to them after our big day..
I really do want to thank you all for creating an incredible atmosphere and the ability to bring real, authentic music to our wedding reception. Having a cheesy wedding band was not an option for us. The fact that we found real musicians to play at our wedding was incredibly lucky and we are so thankful you were available. Everyone loved you guys and our guests are still raving about it. You exceeded our expectations and we would love to come and see The Loyales play in the near future. We also had so many compliments on the special songs we asked you to learn and play for us. They were beautiful. I’ll never forget our three year old dancing and singing to “Rolling on a river” at the end of the night. That was quite a highlight. She still sings it to this day. You made our day and evening seemless and beautiful, and for that I can’t thank you enough. You all make it seem so easy :). Please stay in touch.

This band is truly the best ever! Their range, sound, energy, and talent will make any wedding party a night to remember.
This is NOT your average, cookie-cutter wedding band. This is a band that will surprise and delight your guests. We had several wedding guests tell us it was the best wedding band they had ever heard—they were raving for weeks. Six months later, we still get compliments. Even in writing this review I wish I could go back and bust a move to the engagements tunes!
The engagements were recommended to us and from the moment we spoke to Aaron, the manager, we knew we had found an exceptional band. Aaron is incredible to work with. He was responsive, helpful, kind, and patient. Each of the band members was extremely kind and cool too.
The engagements went above and beyond: in addition to playing our requests from their lists, they learned each and every one of the special-request songs that were not on the list. This included a lesser-known 70's tune that has special significance for us and made us practically fly with happiness. We were on cloud nine the entire night because of this marvelous band.
If you are lucky enough to get the Engagements, do not let the opportunity pass you up. They are sui generis and will make your wedding an epic celebration!
I absolutely loved having Lucy Music's string quartet play modern music at our cocktail hour. Our church wedding limited our choices for music, so it was important to me to incorporate music in the reception. I loved the quartet's renditions of the Cure, and 80s hits. I got tons of compliments from attendees. And the bad was easy to work with.

Hands down, The Prunups were the best decision we made for our wedding day (aside from saying "I do" haha) I cannot begin to count the number of people who came up to us raving about the band and their selection of songs. Phrases like "I did not leave the dance floor once", "How did you find these guys?!", and "I wish they were at my wedding" were thrown around all night.
As for their professionalism and customer service, TOP NOTCH. Aaron from Lucy Music was communicative and really went above and beyond. He hopped on the phone with me several times to review logistics, custom options/add-ons, etc. And I really got the sense that he cared about the overall vibes of the wedding we we're looking for.
I also had the pleasure of working with Ed, the bass player/leader of The Prenups. Ed was nothing short of incredible. He worked with me throughout the entire planning process in order to ensure the band played everything how we envisioned. He ensured the band nailed the vibe depending on where we were in the night (soft instrumentals during the ceremony, an acoustic unplugged set during cocktail hour, and full on rock n' roll party during the reception). And by far the coolest thing Ed facilitated was allowing myself and my own bandmates to play a few songs dedicated to my wife. 'Did you have to bring all your equipment to your own wedding?' NOPE! Ed and the band were cool enough to let us borrow their stuff. Again, another example of the amazing customer service/dedication to making everything as easy for us as possible. Ed also learned 3 songs in the matter of 2 days for us as my bass player couldn't make the wedding!
5 stars out of 5, two thumbs up, three cheers, whatever you want to say we LOVED working with Lucy Music and The Prenups. I will be singing their praises for the rest of my life and will be recommending Lucy Music to anyone looking for live entertainment at their wedding or event.
Highly recommend the Tribute String Quartet!!!
They are easy to work with, professional and most importantly- they sound incredible!!! We had them at our ceremony and cocktail hour- everyone loved them, we got so many compliments. We also loved that we were able to request a custom arrangement which made the night feel even more special. We look forward to another reason to book them again!!
We had the most fabulous experience with Aaron and the entire band - everyone was blown away with the quality and talent- by far one of the highlights of our family wedding- they connected with everyone and we had a big dancing crowd - they were so easy and flexible to work with - and added some great ideas to the vendor walk through to make the party flow - love love love working with them - they invited us to a show they were doing prior to the wedding and it reinforced they were the right band for us - One of the best decisions we made for the wedding
There are tons of wedding bands around NYC; some of them are fine, some of them are pretty good, and a lot of them are very corny. If you're someone who really cares about the music at your wedding—who wants to make sure everyone gets up to dance, but would rather hear the Talking Heads and Prince than another mediocre cover of "Get Lucky"—then The Engagements are the best wedding band you can hire. They have multiple excellent singers, so they can credibly cover an incredibly wide range of music well. Aaron is a great band leader who has assembled a top notch group, and he is attentive to your needs, will take song requests, and will even perform a song with you if you want. Our guests could not stop talking about how amazing the band was. I loved them so much, I'm thinking about getting married again just so I can re-hire them.
We loved the Tribute String Trio! They were professional, sweet, flexible, very tolerant of our variable plans, and they played beautifully! This is the perfect band for those who want to hear the songs they love and know but would like a more traditional wedding sound. We loved their repertoire and everyone at the wedding absolutely loved them.
The Loyales were our absolute dream wedding band. We got married in a heatwave and nobody left the dance floor till we kicked people out. Aaron and Milton were a pleasure to work with leading up to the night and we can't wait to go check out the band around Brooklyn. It was just the best dance party.
We hired The Engagements for our wedding this past June, and they were UNBELIEVABLE!!!! We received nonstop compliments from our guests - all of whom were on the dance floor the entire night. Aaron, the drummer and band manager, was helpful from the start, providing detailed and thoughtful responses to all the many questions I had. Vocalists John, JD, Heather and Emil were all amazing - each member brought their own unique sound/vibe and they play together perfectly. They have a big repertoire of songs, but were also able to learn several "wishlist" songs for us and they executed them so well! I knew having a band would be the biggest splurge, and it was SO WORTH IT.
The Engagements are a band you will never forget! They were amazing and they truly know how to rock a party. The state of Utah had never seen a dance party like the one they brought to our daughter and son in laws wedding. It was an epic night and our friends still haven't stopped talking about them. They have an awesome repertoire but they even learned a few special songs for us. Hire them. They will not disappoint!
We hired Baby Soda play at our small intimate wedding reception in Brooklyn. They were amazing! It was timeless music that all the guest of all ages enjoyed and live music is just made it all the more special. We requested a song for a first dance "Dream a Little Dream of me" which was truly magical. They were very professional and a pleasure to deal with. Several guests were asking about them after the wedding. They're the best, book them and you won't regret!
Without a doubt, hiring Lucy Music was the best decision we made in our wedding planning.
Our number one goal was for our guests to have a good time, and Lucy Music delivered from start (with the String Tribute Quartet for the ceremony), to a trio from the band for our cocktail hour, to late into the night with The Engagements band for our 100 guests. I’m a music lover so once the venue was picked, the band was the next most important decision, as they set the tone for the whole night. We did an extensive search. Every step of the process with Aaron of Lucy Music was a joy. He made the contract, communications for song selection, and the day of the wedding, a breeze. A major reason we choose The Engagements was not only a great song list from the 80s, but that they play them with passion and authenticity. They sound amazing! We had considered an 80s cover band that felt almost more like a concert rather than being there for your party or another that were cheesy with silly costumes. The Engagements are talented musicians, often touring artists, who we were lucky enough also do this. They actually agreed to even learn several songs for our wedding upon our request and nailed them! You would think they had performed them for years. All our guests had an amazing time dancing all night. Friends and family, who are musicians, said they were the best band they’ve ever seen at a wedding. After the stress of wedding planning, we were ready to have a good time. Having The Engagements at our reception was the perfect wedding gift to ourselves. The Tribute String Quartet (we actually used a trio) set the tone for the whole event right from the start, playing unexpected string-covers of 80s hits as our guests sipped on drinks before our ceremony and played Beatles and Beach Boys for our ceremony. Lucy Music did everything we asked and more. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
We absolutely LOVED having Baby Soda play at our wedding in Brooklyn this summer. The music truly set the tone for a fun and laid-back but elegant celebration. Countless guests commented on how much they loved it, and I'll never forget walking down the aisle to a 1920s jazz band playing "Dream A Little Dream of Me." We also really appreciated their fair pricing and professionalism. Highly recommend!
Our entire experience with the Loyales was amazing from day 1. They were very quick to respond to all our emails and were professional throughout the entire process. The energy that they brought to our reception was beyond amazing. This band is absolutely electric when they are playing. They turned our reception into an all-out dance party and our guests will not stop talking about how fun and awesome the band was. Milton really tried to get to know us and our musical taste and crafted a set list that suited our wedding perfectly. I really cannot recommend them highly enough. If you are looking for a band for any event or occasion, you could not go wrong hiring the Loyales.
Baby Soda played for the ceremony and reception at my wedding at the University Club. I don't know what to say other than they were absolutely incredible. Great to work with in advance of the wedding-- responsive, organized and flexible. And then at the wedding, there was nothing we got more compliments on than the band. The music was fun and upbeat, perfect to dance to but not so overwhelming that you couldn't have a conversation at the same time. When my dad and I wanted to do a dance that wasn't on their song list they learned it and performed it beautifully. I can't recommend them enough!
The best decision we made was hiring Baby Soda Jazz for our wedding. They were very accommodating, professional and super talented. Working with both them and Aaron was a wonderful experience. We highly recommend!
We love the Loyales! Working with them in advance of the wedding was very easy, they made us feel well taken care of, happily answering lots of questions and providing great advice about music selection. Their performance the day of was spectacular. They performed during the wedding, the cocktail hour and for dinner and dancing. Each of these performances was a little different, perfect for that moment. They honored the original artist's songs while also adding their special touch. We would highly recommend the Loyales for anyone we meet. Music is such an important part of our lives and integral to any wedding, without the Loyales, our wedding wouldn't have been as special as it was.
Milton and The Loyales were a definite highlight of our wedding! Guests from all age groups commented positively on how awesome the band was. Not only are they talented, but they were also professional and reassuring (a great quality on a day that can sometimes be crazy). We loved the acoustic set during the cocktail hour, and the horah was legendary. Plus they played some Grateful Dead. All in all, well worth the price and happy to support great people and musicians.
My husband and I hired Lucy Music to play our wedding in Branford, CT. Since the venue was a yacht club, and we love yacht rock, we worked with the band to create the perfect crowd-pleasing-danced-the-whole-night set lists that kept on theme. We had created a planned first dance and they helped us nail it! We cant wait to have another reason to book these guys again!! It was such a great wedding party and so much of the credit (and compliments from our friends!!) goes to the band!!
We are so lucky to have had The Loyales play for our wedding. We cannot say enough about how professional and fun this company is. This band was a huge hit at our wedding- we wanted all classic rock and up-beat funk and The Loyales delivered! Milton and his band mates went above and beyond to accommodate our wedding day and special requests. We highly recommend Lucy Music and their bands for your special day. We could not have pictured our day more perfect than it was!

Baby Soda joined us at my organization's Annual Gala. They led a parade march upon the close of cocktail hour into the theater, and then played the last couple of hours following an awards presentation. They were fantastic and our guests raved about how special they made the evening. The music was fun, lively, and perfect for the event. Peter and the band instinctively knew what sort of music would work - shifting from subtle background music to attention grabbing party music. They were easy and flexible when it came to equipment and space, and all around great to work with. Aaron, of Lucy music, booked them for us and was great and flexible. He was able to work with us to make sure we had the right sound within our budget, and did everything possible to indulge a few silly special requests from us. I highly recommend working with Baby Soda and any of the Lucy Music bands.
We booked The Engagements for our wedding in Bermuda. Aaron was great to work with. The idea of bringing in an outside band was daunting but Aaron had everything under control. He's a pro. The band is absolutely amazing, too!
We worked with Aaron to hire the Tribute String Quartet for our June wedding at Liberty House. They played our ceremony and cocktail hour. Aaron helped us select
Our songs for the cocktail hour and we also selected a custom song for our processional. Their arrangement was great - I definitely cried - and the guests remarked how great the String Quartet was during cocktail hour. They were very professional and as a musician myself, I highly recommend them!
It was a pleasure working with Baby Soda for our wedding. They were super professional from the beginning and added a great ambiance to our wedding. Would definitely recommend them to others and would love to attend a wedding that they are performing at :)
Lucy Music was amazing! They helped make our wedding absolutely perfect. They were incredibly easy to work with, incredibly flexible when it came to song choices, and above all, they played beautifully and were a large part of the perfect ceremony. We would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a fun and classy quartet!
We had a fantastic experience with the Loyales. They played for a blowout birthday/anniversary party -- a very special night that was basically us re-celebrating our wedding, and the Loyales were the most special part of the night. A friend who books music for films and TV (and knows the whole world of NYC music) recommended them unequivocally. He was 100% right. Aaron and Milton made everything super easy right from the start, and they were very responsive by email and by phone. They'd never played the venue before, but it didn't faze them at all. I wanted to have a small ensemble for the cocktail hour and then a more rocking band for dancing after dinner, and they put it together perfectly. They've got a huge repertoire of music, and played to the mood of each part of the night beautifully. Most importantly, the dancing was awesome -- everyone had so much fun. I would hire them again in a heartbeat.
We absolutely loved The Loyales. Our guests did, too. Having a solid, live band was very important to us and it's a big ticket item, too, so we were thrilled that our choice worked out. Everyone had the best time dancing and singing along to The Loyales, who read the crowd well and totally rocked out.
Aaron and Milton were very communicative and helped us through the whole wedding band booking process (something we knew nothing about). They offered a structure that worked well for our ceremony+reception and we had a range of live music for hours.
When the venue rental and gig was over, our guests starting shouting "one more song!" and The Loyales played an encore, which was awesome.
We had Tribute String Quartet play during the ceremony at our wedding in April and they were wonderful! From the beginning, Aaron was so easy to work with - could explain our options and responded to questions quickly. I found their song selection so much fun to choose from, and the whole experience was really easy and seamless. The Quartet even learned "Happy Together" by the Turtles for the end of our ceremony to make it even more special. I would highly recommend TSQ and Lucy Music to anyone planning their wedding!
These guys absolutely ROCKED our wedding reception! Not only were our guests out on the floor all night dancing their butts off to everyone's favorite classic hits, people were literally chanting "one more song" at the end of the night! Aaron and The Engagements were delightful to work with from the beginning, great with communication, and they were really receptive to learning some special request songs. This is a group of SUPER talented musicians, who are total professionals, and we could not be more thrilled that they played at our wedding. Our friends and family are still raving about how much fun they had dancing the night away. So awesome, thanks again for everything guys!
Tribute String Quartet (part of the Lucy Music family) played the prelude, processional and recessional music at our September wedding and they did a fabulous job! We wanted our guests to experience something "different" in terms of music they would expect to hear via the strings, which would typically be classical pieces. What we love about TSQ is that they are versatile enough to play familiar, popular music that can cater to any crowd. For example, hearing a Stevie Wonder or Marvin Gaye song on the strings. Guests LOVED the musical twist! It was different, but relatable. Not only this, but we had a special request to have a singer possibly accompany TSQ for the wedding party/bridal processional and Aaron was more than happy to oblige. He merged TSQ with a singer named J.D. Smoothe from one of the other bands he books. The resulting rendition of John Legend's "All of Me" still has guests talking about it more than 3 months later! We had never heard the rendition until walking down the aisle, and was definitely more than pleased. We appreciated Aaron's kindness, flexibility and patience all around with planning, and truly appreciate the talent of the wonderful musicians. TSQ and J.D. Smoothe's joint performance definitely added that something "special" to our wedding day and they are highly recommended!
We are SO HAPPY we hired The Engagements to play at our wedding. Their song catalog is fantastic and they are incredible performers--our guests were so impressed that we had a super-legit sax solo at our wedding. They kept the dance floor packed all night and we had a wide range of musical tastes in attendance. There are also great MCs in the band!!!
We worked with Aaron in the year leading up to our wedding and he made everything a breeze. He asked all the right questions and made perfect suggestions. We had no idea what worked and what didn't work to keep the night on track and engaging--luckily Aaron is a pro at this. The band also learned a few songs we requested that weren't on their list and played them with gusto. Hire them!!!
Kick Ass Band!
• Pros: Awesome band for our wedding. They played so many of our favorite and classic 60s, 70s, 80s hits. Our guests were dancing until the event ended, and even requested one last song at night end. At our reception, we often found ourselves in front of the band dancing with our hands in the air! Band was very accommodating and great to work with day of wedding.
• Cons: Response time wasn’t often as quick as we’d like but a few follow-ups got us what we needed.
you can't do better. stop looking. book the engagements. your guests will thank you. your marriage will be stronger because of it. they are hands down the best- blows other wedding bands totally out of the water.

My name is Aaron. I'm the drummer and bandleader of The Engagements. I also represent the bands of Lucy Music. We're a small operation - essentially just a collection of my friends' bands. Each of our bands are "real bands", meaning they're groups of friends that all play in each other's original projects. We gave our bands these "cover band" aliases (The Prenups, The Loyales, etc.) for when we play weddings and parties. We did about 80 weddings last year, and people seem to find it refreshing that we're not the "typical wedding bands" put together by some wedding band agency.
