would order the dress a bit bigger to put in the zipper. When the dress arrived it was a size 10. I didn’t think much of it as I am not familiar with bridal alterations. I called to ask if I should begin fittings earlier than normal given these changes, and they said no. At my first fitting their seamstress asked me if I lost significant weight, as she was confused why they would order such a large dress even to put in a zipper. Their seamstress basically had to rebuild the entire shape of the dress leading not only to an extra fitting but extra cost. After 4 fittings and almost $900 in alterations (almost half the cost of the dress), I had a fitting dress. The owners called me before pick up to let me know I should limit the times I zip and unzip the dress due to lace, I thought it was odd but just figured they were being cautious for the dress. On the day of my wedding, I went to put on my dress and the zipper was almost immobile, my sister was able to get it up part the way and we clipped the top. Not even in the dress for a minute and the zipper split. Luckily one of my bridesmaids is a surgeon in training and was able to sow me into the dress for the ceremony. Arriving at my reception site the remainder of the zipper split and the hook snapped off. I missed most of my cocktail hour being resown into my dress. So I was essentially sewn into my dress for 9 hours, and my mom had to cut me out at the end of the night. Below is a picture of what my dress looked like with our emergency fixes of my bridesmaid and mother. When I told the salon about this they sent me a brief email (didn’t even have the courtesy to call) saying they would replace the zipper and hook at no cost but did not acknowledge the $900 I spent on what should have been a wearable dress. Given the warning they gave me, I feel they knew there was an issue, and instead of an emergency fix, they rolled the dice on my dress.

didn't greet me but instead asked me to wait by the door (am I a dog??) until my parents arrived. Once in the fitting room, I had to ask ( I was quiet and polite about it) the consultant to please close the dressing room door in between dresses because I was uncomfortable sitting there in my underwear for anyone to walk by and see. She didn't say anything and instead made a face/rolled her eyes. I remained calm and came out in the dress. My parents asked if they could take a picture and she was rude saying that she feared we would take that and have another designer built it. Seriously? I can handle someone being rude to me but saying that to my parents was just out of line. I told her I was done and wouldn't be buying a dress. I apologized to my parents for her and we left. What a way to ruin what should be a wonderful and fun time.

pick out dresses to try on. It can be overwhelming and disappointing when what you picked doesn't look as good on you as it did on the mannequin. At Luli's they're with you every step of the way and use their many years of experience to help you make choices that will work best with your body type. Upon walking in I showed them two pictures of dresses I'd tried on at previous stores that I'd sort of liked. They worked their magic and produced a dress that was essentially those two dresses combined. It was exactly what I was looking for and made me tear up when I put it on. I was expecting the price to be very high because my dress was essentially all lace, but it was a fair price compared to other places I had been. I am pretty short and needed a few inches off the bottom so the seamstress onsite worked wonders and in the end you couldn't even tell she'd removed the lace, shortened it, and put the lace back on. The owners and seamstress were all very friendly and the whole experience was stress free. I am so happy I went with Luli's and I will be recommending them to my friends in the future!

me type of customer service a the first two stores, and I was also disappointed with the selections offered until I came upon Luli's. It is a small boutique but don't let that fool you. Both ladies were a great help from start to finish and were always courteous and helpful. They offered their honest opinions which I really valued. We also bought my bridesmaids' dresses here and my mom's dress as well. The Bill Levkoff (bridesmaid) dress selection was great and they also had a large selection for mother of the bride/groom. The process for all of this was way too easy! My mom and I both had our alternations done by Vicki, who is the best at what she does! Both of our dresses fit perfectly and we couldn't have been happier. It is obvious that all three women love what they do and they enjoy helping others to make sure everything goes smoothly. Thank you to Lisa, Luba, and Vicki for all your help and hard work!

g that first visit, I tried on several dresses. I found Lisa to be very patient, kind, and encouraging. I never felt pressured to buy anything and she always gave her true opinion; which was a great help. When, after trying on a few dresses, I did not feel the "this is my dress" feeling, I felt discouraged, but Lisa told me she would check the back of the store. I held out hope and low and behold she brought out a beautiful lace dress. I tried it on and I loved it. It hugged my body in all the right places, it was light weight, and it had a beautiful train. My mom teared up a bit too! I couldn't make the decision right then, I needed to sleep on it, but in the end I went back to Luli's Bridal to try it on one more time. I knew it was the one. Vicki did a wonderful job with alterations and it fit like a glove on my wedding day. It was a true pleasure to work both with Lisa and Vicki and I highly recommend Luli's Bridal Boutique to any bride looking for the perfect dress and the "say yes to the dress" moment without the hassle of going into New York City or paying the NYC prices. would not supply any proof. One said it was ordered from the designer on Saturday and the other said Monday. We were ready to take the sample, but they stated we were getting a new gown. Six different bridal stores told us that it sounds like they were giving us the sample. The bride, my husband, and I all asked for something in writing and they wouldn't do that nor allow us to open the box when it arrived. They would not give us our money back ($1200.00). The owner couldn't even tell us the size she ordered. Our attorney said this is a clear "bait and switch" and we should get our money back. Please don't take a chance; there are sooooo many wonderful bridal stores out there.

and is not pushy, though she will give you her opinion if you want it. For being a smaller store, they have a very reasonable selection of many different dress styles, and I actually liked that the store has a small and boutique feel to it. The one down side to this is the limited space within the store. You should definitely make an appointment in advance, and may even be sharing the “big” mirror with another bride as you are trying on dresses or during your fittings. Being patient and only bringing a few people (even 1 or 2) with you helps! Despite this, I was very happy with my shopping and fitting experiences. Vicki, the seamstress, is truly fantastic. My dress fit perfectly and the bustle was gorgeous. You will make 4 appointments for dress fittings, but I ended up only using 3. These can be somewhat inconvenient if you don’t live in town because fittings have to be done on Saturdays. But, it was ultimately worth it given the work Vicki does. I am still getting compliments on how beautiful my wedding dress was, and I have the ladies of Luli’s to thank for that!

m sure the price is the same or just about the same in other bridal salons but I just dreaded paying the alteration price on top of the dress price. Again, the shop, dress, and people were great and I would totally recommend this salon to any brides. So my personal opinion on the alteration prices shouldn't deter anyone from using them. Overall, great experience!

. While alterations were a bit pricy, I knew my dress was in good hands. The dress fit me perfectly when Vicki was done working on it. Once I was bustled, my train stayed perfectly in place. (I've been to a few weddings where the bustle has come undone after a while.) I've already been recommending Luli to future brides.

gorgeous!!! They are so knowledgeable and accommodating, I always felt listened to, and I never felt pressured at all. My wedding is in two weeks, and my Maid of Honor's dress was altered incorrectly at another bridal shop. After spending two days there trying to get it fixed and being told it was a "manufacturer defect" in the dress (it wasn't), I called LuLi's frantically wondering if they could help us. They fit us right in, and within fifteen or twenty minutes, Vicki had the incorrect alterations undone and had the dress pinned in a way that is more flattering and comfortable - it looks so much better, and my Maid of Honor feels way more comfortable. We are going back in a week to pick it up, and I am 100% confident it will be beautiful. I would recommend LuLi's to everyone and am so glad I bought my gown there!! They really saved the day!!

only negative was the cost of veils. A very simple veil cost $500. Basically the same veil cost $175 at Nordstrom's. I would certainly recommend them to new brides.

and alterations are always quite the extra expense. My mom also got her dress there and she looked amazing. My mom did not want the "traditional" M.O.B dress as she is only 50 and is very youthful. They matched her with such an appropriate dress and a sheer jacket (Nov. 26th wedding); both our dresses looked as though they were made for us. The seamstress is a former Klienfields employee. She has a very strong personality but don't let her scare you away; she just really cares about you.
