Jimmy did a wonderful job helping us curate the exact type of mood we wanted for our reception. He was also really flexible and personable, and was a big part in making our day exactly what we wanted.

Using Jimmy as our Wedding DJ was the best vendor decision we could have made. As soon as we had our initial consult with him on the phone, we knew we had made the right choice. Jimmy is so incredibly thoughtful about what he does. He sat with us for hours planning out our processional music choices and discussing our preferences in dancing music. He kept the energy high and had the dance floor packed all night, which was one of our main goals for the evening. We highly recommend him!

Jimmy was fantastic! Every single person that came to our wedding was raving about how great the music selection was! He was so easy to work with, and he was extremely knowledgeable. We did a “listening party” with him and i’m so glad that we did, it really helped him get an insight as to what kind of music we like and are into, and we were able to pick and create our playlist with him. He walked us through the event and helped us pick out the perfect song for each occasion. I would highly recommend him to anyone and everyone, we are so happy with our choice to have him as our DJ! He really did such a great job!

Jimmy was FANTASTIC! He really brought the energy to our wedding this summer! What we appreciated most about Jimmy was that he really took the time to get to know us and what we wanted. I had a very specific vision for how the party would go and Jimmy helped make that come true-- even down to the specific timing of the introduction songs! I came in with a list of songs that I asked him to play, but even if you don't know exactly what you want, you can trust Jimmy to choose some bangers that will keep the party going! At our consultation meeting, Jimmy even assured us that he would always double check with one of us if a request came in that we hadn't approved-- and the night of, he did! It was great to know that he would check in with us. He did an outstanding job and helped make our wedding memorable and an awesome time! I loved his philosophy that you have to set the tone at the cocktail hour-- get the good vibes started early so that people are primed to get up and dance once the party really gets going. Friends and family raved about how much fun they had dancing and how much they loved the playlist. My husband and I still talk about how much we loved Jimmy! 10/10, we wholeheartedly recommend him!!

So glad we found him! It was a true pleasure to be able to work with Jimmy Lutz for our Hudson Valley wedding. He was a consummate professional from the start and immediately put us at ease, when we spoke with him while navigating the (overwhelming!) wedding planning process. Suddenly I felt like we had an ally in the process, who could help us along the way. His years of experience allows him to understand instinctually all the dynamics of weddings and events and to know what's needed when. He can "read a crowd" for sure! and knows there are people of all ages there to appeal to. He patiently reviewed all of our song ideas and listened closely to understand the type of event and feeling we were hoping to create. He was a great emcee too. Best of all- when I wanted to surprise my husband with an Elvis impersonator and to get our guests dancing to some fun songs together- picture a "kick line" to Sinatra's "New York New York"!, he shared lots of ideas to help make it happen successfully. It went off with out a hitch! And our guests can't stop talking about what fun the party was. He also provided us with a super helpful guide and song ideas for each step of the wedding and reception process and he was always available to take our questions. Jimmy was a vital member of our wedding team!

Jimmy was the BEST! From the first email he sent, to spending so much time with us picking out our songs, offering wonderful suggestions and just really understanding the vibe we wanted to go with for our wedding day, he was the best choice we could have made. Our guests were blown away with the great mix of old and new, and the last song of the night just sealed it for everyone! Jimmy is such a personable, kind, and talented person, I would (and have) recommended him to other friends and people I know getting married. Jimmy provided the music for our ceremony, played acoustic guitar at our cocktail hour (AMAZING!) and was incredible at the reception. You will not be disappointed. We had nothing to worry about the day of our wedding :)

Hire this DJ!! Jimmy was so responsive from the start! We heard back from him right away. He was just as excited as we were about the music we wanted to play at our wedding. Our goals were to have special songs to us play during the ceremony, and to keep everyone on the dance floor all night. Jimmy played songs for every age group and the floor was packed with all of our guests even before the sun set and until last call. He was so considerate for our announcements, parent dances, reminders, and taking cues like a pro. He even approached us to make sure we were comfortable with certain details. He was a kind, considerate, music wizard, consummate professional. I cannot recommend him enough for your special occasion!!

Having Jimmy DJ our wedding was such a great choice! We love supporting our small local businesses and Jimmy definitely provides a great experience for your event. He was very easy to work with from the beginning all the way through the day of our wedding. He had us laughing and jamming out during our meeting a few weeks before the event and he had great insights and tips about how to have a fun evening that went smoothly! He did a great job coordinating with our venue staff to execute the timeline of our night and we didn't have to worry about a single thing, we were able to let loose and enjoy the night. And in addition to being such a great professional, he's an even more awesome DJ!! Just by providing a general genre list and a small list of our favorite songs, Jimmy was able to provide a great set throughout the night and kept the dance floor full all the way through!

My husband and I were fortunate enough to have worked with Jimmy Lutz for our wedding! Jimmy made himself available to answer questions and we were able to meet in person twice before the wedding. He is professional, patient and talented. I joked with Jimmy that my husband I are old souls and liked older music that our parents grew up on. I could tell from Jimmy's website that his taste in music was right up our alley. Steve and I wanted our night filled with classic rock and classic songs that all our guests could dance to. Jimmy could read the crowd and kept them dancing all night. Jimmy is also a very talented musician himself and sung classics like the Beatles, Elton John at our cocktail hour. This acoustic cocktail hour was unique and our guests loved it. The highlight of the night was when I asked Jimmy if my brother could perform karaoke of LA Woman. Jimmy didn't hesitate and provided my brother a microphone. Jimmy helped make our wedding night one we would never forget and we can't thank him enough.

My Husband and I could not be more thrilled to have had Jimmy at our wedding! Not only did Jimmy deliver and keep everyone on the dance floor the whole night he was so enjoyable and friendly to work with! The whole experience was truly customized to our taste and style. Jimmy was so warm during our listening party and really let us share a bit of ourselves through our musical tastes. We worked together on every detail and we even found a way to infuse some songs into the night to honor my late mother in a celebratory way. His ability to handle something delicate like that so gracefully is something that I am forever grateful for. It's very clear this man loves his job and just wants to see everyone happy and celebrating. Jimmy was amazing to work with from the first inquiry email to the big day! We used his amazing acoustic skills for cocktail hour which was such a hit with our guests and he did a fantastic job during the reception. With COVID, we were worried about making sure our family and friends had a good time while still being safe. Jimmy was easy to work with due to all the changes we had to make and read the room perfectly to ensure our guests had a great time. He was professional, fun and overall a great guy! Jimmy was also great about helping us select the perfect songs even though going in we were very indecisive! I would definitely recommend him!

From the initial meeting with Jimmy Lutz, we knew he would be our DJ and master entertainer. Jimmy was extremely easy to work with, provided excellent suggestions for our entertainment and his live music at the ceremony was fantastic. Jimmy was the ultimate master of ceremonies. My husband and I are so glad that we chose to work with Jimmy! Though we weren't able to meet in person before the wedding day, I spoke with Jimmy on the phone before we hired him and he answered all of my questions, as well as recommended that we have a "listening date" where we spend time together selecting music for the wedding. This was such a sweet and important idea and helped us slow down a little during the busy planning stages. Prior to the day, we skyped with Jimmy and reviewed all of our song choices, what time to start the song on and what time to end it, as well as described our music tastes to him. Jimmy was very open to our suggestions, and got a good sense of our eclectic taste very quickly. He was open to downloading music that he did not already have, and incorporated all of the songs we requested. When a song request came in that he was not sure that I would approve (I had asked for no slow songs but someone requested Sinatra), he checked with me before playing it and it turned out to be a big hit! He read the room and kept people dancing all night. One of the things that Jimmy said during our first conversation that really sold me was that he "lets the music speak for itself." He worked with my cousin who emcee'd the wedding, and was willing to make announcements, but was very much in the background, letting the music take center stage. As a music lover, I really appreciate this and think that he did his job perfectly.

Jimmy rocked the house! He was an absolute professional and took our playlist input into account while also adding his own flavor. The guests were raving about our "awesome DJ" the next morning. I'm truthfully not even sure where to start with Jim & Lutz Entertainment. We were looking for a non-cheesy DJ with a true passion for music, and thats exactly what we got with Jim. For one, the meeting process was very laid back and low pressure, which is what we were looking for, especially with so many other things going on. As soon as we started explaining our musical tastes at our first meeting (my husband and I have very different interests musically), Jim gave suggestions that were seamless to our initial playlist ideas; providing things we didn't even think of! He's so much more than "just a DJ". He helped us to plan from before the ceremony, all the way through the reception. Even right down to the day of, he kept everything moving smoothly, even helping me to relax when rain was suddenly in the forecast! He was truly an asset to our team, working well with the other vendors and keeping our wants and needs at the forefront of the night. We didn't want any requests (unless they were a good fit into what was already playing, fully trusting Jim with the decision) and he did a great job of honoring that, without being abrasive to our guests. If we could recommend Lutz Entertainment 1000x over, we would. If you are looking for a super knowledgable, friendly guy who provides exceptional entertainment keeping your guests talking about how much fun they had at your wedding, look no further! Jimmy is your guy and we can't thank him enough for everything!

Finding a good DJ who responds within the day, is open to playing whatever genre of music you want, and who is also flexible enough to give ideas that meet the needs of two completely different tastes from a couple is hard to find. However, Jimmy does all of those things, and more! We couldn't have been more pleased with his professionalism, with his song selection, and most importantly with the fact that he was able to keep our guests dancing the entire night.

Jimmy absolutely made our night perfect!!! We had an amazing NYE wedding and wanted the dance floor packed, and that’s just what happened! Having the option for an acoustic set for cocktail hour really made it extra special and set the tone for the night. His experience as a musician allowed him to be in tune with the guests all night and played the best songs at all the right moments. He was very helpful and accommodating to help us plan the night before hand. All around, couldn’t have asked for anything more!

Jimmy was wonderful. We hired Jimmy for our June 2 2018 wedding in rock land county. We had him sing and play acoustic guitar during cocktail hour and DJ the rest of the night. I missed a good bit of him performing because we were taking photos but I heard lots of compliments from our guests. Everyone was dancing until the last shuttle bus arrived. He was very easy to work with and went out of his way to make sure our night was perfect - even running to get the photographer when there was photo-worthy excitement on the dance floor. He was very quick to respond to emails/questions and very flexible during he planning stages. Night of, he was early, all his equipment worked perfectly, he was very friendly and did an excellent job.

I think I called about 20 DJs before finally stumbling across Jimmy. I didn't think I was being picky, but apparently it's hard to find a non-cheesy DJ who is fine with not playing dinner games. Jimmy was definitely not cheesy, never said a word about playing dinner games, and had this comforting work style that made me happy to chat with him. I never actually met or saw Jimmy in person before our wedding, but I never had a single doubt about him. I liked how on our (fairly long!) introductory call he really took time to get to know my husband and me. He really got me thinking about what kind of music we wanted to hear at our wedding, the range of styles we wanted to hear, and got a sense for who we were as people. After we booked him, he gave us our "homework" of going through the top 100 wedding songs and crossing out anything we didn't want to hear and marking anything that was a must play. We did this on a road trip and we just destroyed that list. I almost felt badly handing him this list with so much crossed off, but it didn't phase him in the least. The best part about Jimmy is that he also is a phenomenal guitar player. We were able to have him do guitar for cocktail hour, which I really loved. He could also do that for a ceremony as well! Jimmy handled our pre-ceremony, ceremony, cocktail hour (guitar), dinner, and party music flawlessly. One of my wedding memories is when I was with my bridesmaids waiting to head out to the ceremony and I could hear the (relatively obscure) music I had chosen playing. It was this amazing moment when I realized that everything had come together and the music played a big role in that. Jimmy honored some pretty unique wishes we had too: cuing up a random Mowglis song as our recessional to avoid a weird part, playing plenty of Phish tracks, and even finding a particular Grateful Dead cover of "I Bid You Goodnight (live from Albany, NY) to play as our closing song. To the best of my memory (it goes so fast!) I heard everything I wanted to hear. I had the greatest time dancing with my husband and my friends, as did everyone else. We struck this perfect balance between good music that meant something to us, and just plain fun. Jimmy also handled requests like a champ! He also successfully stalled for our first dance when it came quicker than I realized and I needed an extra minute. By the end of the night, people wanted his name and our venue had already spoken with him about working with him in the future. If you are looking for a "non-cheesy" DJ, book Jimmy in a heartbeat! Really, everyone should just book Jimmy because he's amazing, kind, and so helpful. Thank you Jimmy!!!!

Jimmy was SO great! He really worked with us to get a sense of the style of music that we wanted for our wedding and offered suggestions when we were unsure. He was always very responsive during planning, sounded great acoustically during cocktail hour, and kept the reception lively, upbeat, and dancing!! My guests loved him and he really helped to make it the best day for us!!

Jimmy is a phenomenal DJ!!! He was so thorough during the planning process, taking note of songs and genres that we liked and disliked. He really listens to everything you say, gives great advice, and ultimately chooses music that you want, not just what's popular. He helped us finalize our ceremony music and made sure every single song we picked for the ceremony was perfect. He played guitar and sang during the cocktail hour. It created the perfect ambiance and SO many guests told me how much they enjoyed that. For the reception, we wanted a variety of music that reflected our tastes and that all of our guests would enjoy, and the day of the wedding Jimmy totally nailed it. He helped me choose a song to play in memory of my godmother, and it was absolutely perfect. The dance floor was full of family celebrating her life - a moment I will never forget. The music set the mood for each and every part of our wedding day, and I can't tell you how many guests complimented the music after the wedding. Jimmy is knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and talented and I absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for an amazing DJ.

Jimmy was amazing, we asked him to play only 80's music and he totally killed it!. He really knew his stuff and played the best selections for each part of the weeding. He was very professional, friendly and fun. We totally recommend him.

Jimmy DJ’d our wedding reception this past summer and it was an absolute blast. People were up dancing the entire time, and so many people commented on how fun the music was to dance to and how enjoyable the music was in terms of sound level (people were still able to talk when the wanted to, and no one left with ear damage :)). Jimmy was able to take just a few ideas from us about the kind of music we like, and create the best party we’ve ever been to. He was also super respectful in avoiding music that we didn’t want. Music was a very important aspect of our wedding and from the first meeting with Jimmy, we had a strong sense that he “got” us. We wanted to have a sound that incorporated alternative, rock, and folk, but was still familiar and exciting for our friends and family. We worked with Jimmy to plan out what types of music we wanted to play during each part of the wedding. At the wedding, Jimmy created a flawless playlist based on our tastes that was perfect from the ceremony through the end of the evening. Jimmy also did the sound setup for our ceremony and cocktail hour, which were perfect. Through the day, he worked with Annalise of Lola’s Cafe to MC our wedding and helped keep everything running smoothly.

Book Jimmy immediately! He is the kindest, sweetest, most thoughtful person and truly cares about you and the music at your wedding. He sat down with my husband and I several times and helped us figure out just the right songs for each part of our wedding/reception - and we had was SO much fun in the process!!! Even when we had problems finding a first dance song, I reached out to Jimmy, and he was so kind to put together a document with all the first dance songs of his couples for us to review - and he bolded the songs that he liked the most. For our cocktail hour, Jimmy played his guitar, and it added just the right touch of fun during that time. We got several comments about how wonderful it was. During the reception, our guests were on the dance floor all night long and the music was so fun. Jimmy doesn't play the same songs other DJs plays - he chooses the songs and keeps the guests guessing all night long. He also threw in all our special requests and made sure we were aware whenever he did something special. I can't recommend Jimmy more. He simply is the best!

Lutz Entertainment was recommended by our day of coordinator Jeanne Stark (Hudson Valley Ceremonies). After reading excellent review after excellent review and a quick phone screening, we hired him for our wedding. We met in person once before the wedding to review introductions and accompanying music, our first dance (which he performed live), our musical preferences and the entire run of show. And in the final weeks leading up to the wedding, Jimmy checked in to see if we had any additional requests or thoughts. The process was seamless and it showed the day of. For instance, my mother was insistent that dinner was not a time to be dancing and guests should be able to hear each other from across the table. Mindful of this, Jimmy used the time to play non-dancing music from some of our favorite bands at a lower level than normal. Speaking with a close friend (who knows my musical preferences) after the wedding, he expressed how personal the music was throughout the night, from introductions to dinner to dancing. Success! Jimmy’s enthusiasm for music is infectious and my husband and I now find ourselves brainstorming ways we could incorporate him into future events, just so we could work with him again! With that said, we highly recommend Jimmy for your own wedding!

Jimmy was everything we could have hoped for in a DJ for our wedding! We had a small, low-key wedding with no bridal party and no traditional add-ons (bouquet toss, father/daughter dance, etc.). We just wanted good music and a good time. We met with him a few times over Skype and knew that he would be perfect. We gave him some suggestions for music just so he could get a feel for our style and told him to just go with whatever he wanted. And did he ever!! He has an amazing feel for a room and knows how to ramp the party up as well as calm it down, like when it was time for dinner. We had a very diverse group so we told him not to be shy about the classics and to mix in whatever he felt would keep the party going. The dance floor was packed for our entire reception and even my dad, tie-loosened, called Jimmy "out of this world". In fact, many of our guests kept telling us over and over all evening how great he was. He also played guitar and sang for cocktail hour and it was such a great touch. From the beginning of the ceremony until the last dance, Jimmy was a total pro and created the most amazing atmosphere for our wedding. I couldn't recommend him more highly.

Jimmy was so much fun to work with. I was really nervous about the music due to my husband and my different musical tastes, but he met us in the middle... and our guests loved the music! The DJ really runs the show during the reception, and you want someone who is on top of their game... and excellent! That someone is Jimmy. Such a pleasure to work with. :)

My husband and I are so glad that Lutz Entertainment provided music for our wedding. Throughout the planning process, DJ Jimmy was very responsive to our emails and was flexible about meetings. Because we live in NJ but were getting married in NY it was great that he could meet with us via Skype. Also, he was really helpful in making music selections for our ceremony. We ended up with processional and recessional music that fit our personalities perfectly! During cocktail hour, Jimmy played a great acoustic set that was a big hit with our family members and our friends. The volume of the music during the cocktail hour was perfect, which is really important. You could hear the music, but you could also carry on a conversation in your normal speaking voice without straining to be heard. The music selection during the reception was absolutely amazing. DJ Jimmy and his assistant did a great job reading the crowd and selecting music that would keep people on the dance floor all night. We extended our reception by an hour, and people (including us) were dancing until the very end. Also, by halfway through the evening a lot of people (myself included) had taken off their high heels so that they could keep dancing. In my opinion that is a sign that people are having a really great time! Throughout the reception, Jimmy worked with the event coordinator at our venue to ensure that things ran smoothly. Thanks to this coordination, our first dance and parent dances as well as the maid of honor and best man toasts did not coincide with any of the dinner service activities. This way no one felt rushed to finish their meals, there were no distractions during the maid-of-honor and best man toasts, and all of this made the evening more enjoyable for our guests. In summary, Lutz Entertainment is an excellent choice for any couple that wants to make sure both they and their guests have a great time at their wedding.

Jimmy was a fantastic DJ who played a great variety of music and kept the dance floor full. Prior to the wedding, we were able to sit down with Jimmy to plan out the music selections, and any special requests. This allowed us to relax and trust the DJ. All the guests had a great time and complimented on the music both during dinner and dancing.

Jimmy was such a great DJ for our wedding last month. We asked him to take the reigns on the music and he really read the crowd and played awesome music. He knew our tastes and avoided everything we didn't want (line dances etc.) Jimmy is great to work with and I'd highly recommend him.

Once we decided to book him as our vendor we met with him and talked more about music. We felt like we were meeting with a friend, not a vendor! Jimmy is so down to earth and truly made our day great. Our guests raved about the music and were up on the dance floor all night!

Jimmy is absolutely incredible. I HATE cheesy DJ's and was going to hire a band instead, but as a musician I found myself super picky with each band that I listened to. I started searching for DJ's and came across Jimmy's name. He was SO attentive to our wishes and planned his set list exactly to what we were asking for. He asked for a "Please Play" list and a "Don't Play" list and I was so happy that he honored our choices. Our wedding was a blend of unique music choices and everyone complimented the selection of songs that we chose. He was so friendly, didn't take the spotlight away from us, and just let us do our thing. He listened, observed, and made adjustments as needed. If you hate cheesy DJ's and don't want a cookie-cutter playlist at your wedding, HIRE JIMMY. SO amazing.

Jimmy Lutz was a marvelous DJ. We liked him from the very first meeting with him. He met every challenge and then went out of his way to accommodate our needs. We had compiled a list of songs we wanted to hear and he arranged them in the most satisfying way. His dance sets were well orchestrated for maximum groove. Our reception rocked! All of our guests commented on how great the music was. We also had a live performance of singers with a keyboard and Jimmy helped to set up the mics and stands they needed, and did a sound check. He was personable and charming and put us right at ease. He was present in every sense, helping with suggestions for timing events throughout the reception. We can't thank Jimmy enough for all that he did for us at our wedding three weeks ago...his music was awesome!! He met with us, played some songs for us, worked with us to make the right music choices for our special day, and always responded to any questions in an efficient manner (almost immediately).
