He was very professional throughout while still talking to me as though I were a close friend or relative, instead of talking to me as though I were another client or another source of income. He made sure to follow up with us a couple more times before the wedding to make sure that our wedding film will be personalized according to what we want captured and what we feel the tone of the film should be. His charisma and wonderfully bubbly personality shone through the day of the wedding as he worked his magic with my friends and family, all the while trying to immortalize my day in film. Although he’s never worked with them before, Luke drove all the way to St. Louis and instantly connected with my photographers and worked so well with them that they appeared as if they were from the same studio. I can’t even count how many times I’ve had guests come up to ask me if I had known Luke previously or if he was a close friend, he’s that personable. Enough about Luke though and let’s move onto what he produced. In setting the tone for the film, he reached out to us with the two songs he thought would fit best for what we’re looking for and the first song was slower and more romantic, perfectly capturing the tone of us getting ready, the first look, and the wedding ceremony, while the second tone was more upbeat and perfectly reflected the spirit of our reception. The wedding video was masterfully crafted, with him fully utilizing natural and indoor lighting as he filmed our outdoor photo shoot and our indoor ceremony and reception. There’s not a single moment that we thought was left out and there wasn’t a single second that we thought was out of place. We’ve shown the film multiple times to each member of our friends and family and we’ve yet to grow tired of watching it. Perhaps the only thing we don’t enjoy watching is our first dance, which includes our awkward swaying to the sounds of our close friend singing, which Luke used a mic to record to ensure that our friend’s singing is recorded with studio quality for posterity.

My highlight video was my absolute favorite, he identified all the best parts of my weekend and made it flow seamlessly. said if it weren’t for his kiddos being sick, he would have joined Wade at the wedding simply because he wanted to be there for us. The sweetest! They deliver the wedding video on a website and include the full ceremony recording as well as specific links to click on for the first look, first dance, father/daughter dance, mother/son dance, and cake cutting. I really liked that aspect. I did a next-day picture session, where Wade volunteered to join in on for some videos. This really stood out to me because he didn’t have to be there but wanted to capture as much as possible to make our video outstanding. They both kept in touch before and after the wedding (even after they gave us our film). Wade was great about asking what I specifically wanted in the video. It’s such a pleasure to know and trust who you are working with. Luke and Wade got to know my story and I knew they wouldn’t let me down. Everyone went crazy about our video and that’s something, like pictures, that you will treasure forever. Looking back, there’s a few changes I would’ve made to my special day, but LWfilms was absolutely perfect. I’d book them again in a heartbeat!

There were two cinematographers that were available: one was not our style at all and the other was Luke (LWfilms). LWfilms was a perfect fit for us. Usually, when mothers force you to do something on your wedding day, it is really annoying. In this bizarre case, I am extremely grateful for their meddling. Hiring Luke was such an unexpected, amazing delight. We ended up getting the "same day teaser" package, so we got a 60 second video directly after our wedding (how does he do that?!). I have probably watched it 500x. If you are like me, and considering not having a videographer, please please PLEASE hire Luke instead. I haven't even gotten our full video back yet- I could be happy forever with this teaser. It looks like a Hollywood film! Its such an amazing momento. Also- I actually think Luke is the nicest person I have met in my entire life. After the wedding, the bridal party kept saying, "can we talk about how cool the videographer was?" I don't think he stopped smiling the entire day. He made us feel so comfortable, and he lightened the mood every time I started to feel stressed (which happened several times- I was not an easy bride). Honestly- just having him around is worth it. But the videos are also AMAZING. Lastly- he secretly took a few photos of my husband dancing with both of his grandmothers after the photographers had left, and sent them to us a surprise. It was so unexpected and so thoughtful, and we will cherish those photos forever. Thank you so much to Luke for capturing our perfect day!

The day of my wedding, I got so many compliments, both from other vendors and from family/friends/guests, on Luke and his demeanor. He was very kind to everyone, wasn’t in the way of the photographers, and was just all around pleasant to talk with and be around all day. I absolutely love the highlight video that he did for us. It’s everything I could have hoped for, and we received so many compliments about the wonderful videography and editing that he did. I did opt to pay for the raw footage as well, because I wanted to be able to hear every bit of all the important aspects of the wedding, such as the ceremony, vows, speeches, etc. I did have a bit of an issue with the ceremony footage, as every time Luke would move to get into a different angle to shoot the ceremony, the camera would turn off for about 30 seconds and then he would turn it back on once he got into the new position. I wanted continuous footage of the ceremony and thought that’s what I would get, so I was initially disappointed. Luke explained to me that continuous ceremony footage was a separate add-on option that I must not have seen in the booking process due to the frenzy of trying to book someone so last minute, so that was my fault. But he did go above and beyond in kindness to help me resolve the issue, and he had some additional footage that made me feel much better to have. I would definitely recommend booking Luke Woodward Films, both for his professionalism on the wedding day and his beautiful work that I’ll treasure forever!
