My husband and I are so thrilled that we chose Lydia and Dalton to capture our special day! They were excellent at communicating with us through the entire process. They made our whole wedding party (which was quite large) and family feel very comfortable. They did an excellent job at ensuring our first look photos, creative wedding party photos, and family formal photos went seamless and that we stayed on schedule without ever feeling rushed. The photos look great and we are so pleased that we get to look back on our day with such fond memories! Overall, Lydia and Dalton are genuinely so kind, attentive, and fun to work with! We hired Lydia and Dalton for our wedding day and they were amazing from start to finish! Before the wedding, they really got to know us and made sure everything was set for the big day to go smoothly. On the day of, they were friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure to get all the photos we requested. As someone who doesn't know how to pose, they were super helpful in getting us in position while still looking natural. Highly recommend!

We highly recommend Lydia McKay Photography! Lydia and Dalton were amazing throughout the process from the engagement photos to our wedding day. They initiated the conversation with us on a call to get to know each other when we inquired to photographers we were interested in. We did not need to look any further! We meshed right away and knew immediately they are very passionate and knowledgeable about their craft. Their expertise and ability to improvise made our photos feel both natural and exciting, and most importantly still like us. We were a bit nervous about the whole process because we had never taken professional photos together. (Don't worry, if you are like us, they will help guide you, so you don't feel awkward.) We also knew how important our photos would be to us because we both have lost a parent in the previous year. It is special to have memories captured with the people we love and have them be authentic. Now we have amazing photos to cherish for a lifetime. While planning your wedding if you haven't heard yet, it will fly by! For us, investing in professional photography was absolutely worth it. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this company! I last minute, messaged them hoping they would help me take pictures for my elopement that was a little under 2 months away not expecting much. LET ME TELL YOU GUYS! They DELIVERED well above my expectations!! Not only did they travel quite the distance for us; but, they did so in the pouring rain! I was so scared the pictures wouldn't turn out due to the weather, but they are phenomenal! They had so many brilliant ideas for different types of photos and did an amazing job of capturing our love! I can't recommend them enough, and they are so easy to work with!!

I am absolutely beyond happy! You both did an amazing job – and it was so fun to relive the wedding day. The portraits in the courtyard and outside near the bridge are just phenomenal. The light was beautiful, and I loved how you captured us with different elements of downtown. Fall colors with glowing trees that picked up the colors in my bouquet, and the photos near the 6th street bridge with the reflections on the water. Then the reception photos were such a warm fun vibe…I was so frazzled that day that I missed a lot, but you captured everything. My Mom didn’t even know that I danced with her Dad that day!! But you got it!! My family was also very excited about the photos. They really are just perfect. Now I need to figure out which ones to print and that is going to be very difficult! Thank you so much! Your work is beautiful.

If you are looking for a photographer Lydia is the one you need! They were so professional and flexible, while making the whole day amazing! Our photos are absolutely stunning and I love seeing our wedding captured in such an intimate way, they went above and beyond to snap really beautiful pictures. Capturing moments I didn’t even know they were watching. They made everything feel so relaxed and they are so genuine especially when they share your excitement. We needed them longer than we thought and it was no issue they stayed for us, and was very accommodating. If you are undecided on who to hire I would 10000% recommend them and would definitely hire them again!!

Lydia and Dalton truly made my day. While our wedding was very low key, I was very selective of the photographers because holding onto the wedding memories through photos was most important to me! From the moment we made contact, I could tell they truly cared about making our day special. Communication was great, and on the wedding day, their professionalism really shone through. They kept me on schedule, got really fantastic shots of my husband and I as well as the family, and really made us feel special. Lydia and Dalton were absolutely wonderful! They were extremely professional and efficient. Both my fiancé and I felt comfortable being ourself with them. During first looks and private vows, it was like they were not there which made us even more comfortable to be real. We had an 18 person wedding party and they directed everyone perfectly. They know exactly what they’re doing with posing for bridal party photos while also making it a very fun experience. Their personalities were very calming which is extremely helpful on a stressful day like a wedding! I would absolutely recommend hiring Lydia McKay Photography!

Lydia and Dalton are truly a gift. Their professionalism, customer service, stunning photos, attention to detail, warm-hearted personalities and fun energy are all 5 star quality. I was immediately impressed with the elegance and timeless feel of their portfolio. We booked them almost 2 years in advance and not once did we ever second guess our decision. They do so much more than take the most beautiful pictures. We are both camera shy but you would never be able to tell because they are experts in the field who made us feel relaxed and confident. It was fantastic hiring Lydia and Dalton as our wedding photographers in August. They arrived early to figure out best areas to photograph on the property and were kind, patient, helped ease our stress with their humor, and took many creative and formal photos of my husband and me as well as those with our family and friends. They took pictures of us on the beach of Lake Michigan down the street as well as on the property in which we had our ceremony and reception. They listened to our vision and took many beautiful pictures of our day. Now we have pictures and memories we can cherish for a lifetime. Lydia and Dalton were so much fun to work with on our big day. Our pictures turned out wonderful and were beyond beautiful. They were both easygoing and took our ideas and added their artistic flair to them. We had pictures at Lake Michigan and they were able to capture the personalities of my Husband and I, and also our wedding party. Some of my favorite pictures were of the guests before the ceremony. I wasn’t able to mingle with guests before the ceremony and the before ceremony pictures of guests were so beautiful. My husband was able to mingle and seeing those pictures brought a smile to his face. We will definitely cherish these pictures for many many years to come! Thank you, Lydia and Dalton.

Have you ever felt like the universe just aligned perfectly in your favor? Well that's how I felt about finding Lydia & Dalton! This dream team was an amazing addition to our wedding! Their photography skills are unmatched and their demeanor is warm-hearted and fun. When we first met them at our engagement session, it already felt like we were old friends and on the wedding day, they fit right in with my family, like we'd all known each other for years. They made us feel so comfortable and relaxed which helped make the photos turn out so beautifully. The weather on the day was a mix of sunny, cloudy AND rainy, yet Lydia & Dalton continuously rolled with the punches, always being prepared for every situation and completely equipped to handle anything Mother Nature had to throw at us. Photography was at the top of my list so I knew I needed someone that I could trust. I was so lucky to find Lydia and Dalton, two amazing photographers that made my husband and I feel comfortable and natural. They are personable and talented and the overall best decision I made for the wedding. I can't thank them enough for capturing our day in a way that let us see all the things that were going on that we didn't get to see at the time! Their ability to endlessly catch those authentic moments and genuine emotions is just mind blowing! They were also incredibly knowledgeable and professional, all the while being warm and funny, which helped us relax and it made the day have a very smooth flow. I cannot say enough great things about Lydia + Dalton! Working with these two was a breeze right from the start and they did a fantastic job on the wedding day. They traveled all the way up to Mackinac Island with a super enthusiastic attitude and my whole wedding party vibed with them great! Best decision EVER! We were referred to Lydia through a friend and we are so happy with our entire experience. She and Dalton were so sweet and comfortable to work with, communication leading up to, during and after the wedding was great, and they were prompt and professional on the actual day. They were unobtrusive and discreet which was important to us, yet they were there for all the special moments. Our day consisted of so many different parts at different locations: a tea ceremony, our first look, the church ceremony, the reception and even an impromptu stop by the beach, and Lydia and her team captured them all beautifully. Where do I begin? Lydia and her assistant were P E R F E C T. When we first spoke on the phone, they were so genuine and personable and I could immediately tell how experienced they were. They are incredibly knowledgeable about all the aspects of the wedding day, not just photography related. They brought forth details of things I never thought to plan for and I could not be more appreciative of that! Their attention to detail, in every regard, is enough to make even the most nervous bride feel at ease. They know what they're doing and you can tell they love doing it! From beginning to end, Lydia was the most professional, dedicated and easy to work with vendor we had for our wedding. She made the process easy beforehand, getting to know us as a couple to ensure our vision came to life! She arrived early on our wedding day to scope out the venue property and plot her course for the events of the day. Lydia is truly a one of a kind photographer. Her energy is so positive and cheerful, she was just a joy to be around. Even through all the stress of my totally hectic, yet amazing, day, she and her assistant both did such an amazing job of keeping my crew pumped and excited all day long.
