Lyn's Needle & Thread

I cannot speak highly enough of Lyn. From the first time my mom and I met with her, we knew she was my lady for my wedding gown. My gown needed straps tightened, a slight hem, and a bustle. Lyn also suggested something I didn't know I wanted, but she took the belt I purchased and actually used part of the hemmed material to make it part of my dress! It looked like it was purchased that way! I had a few fittings as the bustle of my dress was fairly complicated, but Lyn was not going to stop until it was perfect without compromise. The bustle was strong and ended up being perfect! Lyn also used appliques from my mom's wedding dress (which she washed to turn it back to it's original color!) to add a personal touch to my veil. It was so perfect it made my mom cry happy tears. Lyn then even kept my dress and veil safely in her shop until the Friday before the wedding. Pricing is very fair and the quality is incredible. I had a bridesmaids dress altered here for my best friend's wedding, and Lyn was fantastic! When it was time for my own wedding, all of my bridesmaids and both mothers went to Lyn's for their alterations. Lyn is professional, timely, and does quality work. Any time I need an alteration done in the future, I'll be going to Lyn.

They were amazing from the very beginning. I came in the first time with just my dress and no idea for shoes. She helped give me advice on what to look for to make my alterations more minimal. All of the staff was so kind. My grandmother passed a few weeks before my wedding, and they were so helpful in creating a blue heart patch for my dress in her honor from one of her old shirts. They made sure that it was exactly what I wanted, and I absolutely loved the end product. The dress was just perfect!!!

AMAZING!! Lyn was recommended to me through my bridal shop. She is so easy to talk to and wants to make sure everything is perfect for you. She did my bridal gown, my sisters bridesmaid dresses and my moms dress as well. The way she altered (Hemmed) my dress made it feel so much lighter, she layered it and made sure it hit in the perfect spot of my toes when I walked. My moms dress was actually ordered 2 sizes to big for her. Lyn took on the task with ease and made sure (after three appointments) the dress laid perfect on her. Her attention to detail and ‘we’ll get this done’ for you and done correctly attitude is what makes her so easy to work with. I would highly recommend working with Lyn for your bridal/ bridesmaid/ mother of the bride dress needs.

Where do I even start with Lyn?! She is absolutely AMAZING!!! I was introduced to Lyn by my friend who has taken all of her special occasion dresses to her. Lyn had to completely take apart my friend's wedding dress and put it back together. I live in Milwaukee, so going to a seamstress in Silver Lake is a bit of a hike...but let me tell you, upon meeting Lyn for the first time (at my friends dress fitting) I was in love with her personality and knew I needed her to do my wedding dress! I got my dress in about September or October and had a May wedding in Temecula, CA. Lyn was absolutely fantastic in all that she did for me. My dress actually fit me like a glove, I just needed to have cups sewn in and bustling done. However, my dress was an all lace dress with a cathedral train and I felt like my train lost the lace detailing because there was so much material underneath it. Lyn transformed my dress and removed a bunch of the under material so I had an illusion train. I absolutely loved my dress (as did my husband, and yes, I showed him before & after pictures after our wedding)!!! On my very last appointment, which was the Saturday, May 6th, my mom brought my sister's dress along as my sister hadn't yet gotten it cut (it was an infinity dress so no hemming required). It was completely last minute, but Lyn was super accommodating and was able to cut the dress that same day so we could take it home with us when taking home my wedding dress. Now mind you, this was right in the middle of prom season. I would absolutely recommend Lyn to anyone, regardless of how far they are from her. She is the BEST!!!!!

I cannot say enough about Lyn...I feel very very lucky to have been able to meet her & work with her. Getting my dress bustled was one of the many things I had procrastinated with. I called her about a month prior to my wedding after multiple people had referred her. She was able to book me & was just SO nice. The day after booking, I tried my dress on & found it just barely zipped & I could not sit down in it. I called her the next day just about in tears & definitely in panic mode to let her know. Obviously if the dress also needed to be altered it would require more time & I wasn't sure we had enough time to get it done since I had waited so long. Well my sad tears turned into happy tears because she took the time to calm me down and reassured me that if it needed to be altered she'd get me in ASAP. It really meant a lot to me! Now luckily, I was able to lose the few pounds I needed to so that it fit perfectly but she did the bustle, sewed my belt on, steamed my veil, reinforced the zipper, etc. Everything was PERFECT & the price was AWESOME! Not only that- but she is HILARIOUS! A couple of my bridesmaids also had their dresses altered by her & brought other dresses in as well. I will definitely be using her for all future alterations & recommending her to everyone! THANK YOU SO MUCH LYN!!!!
