Julie is the absolute best and kindest soul! We hired Julie to capture our wedding. For our engagement session, we brought Julie to our hometown. Not only did she take amazing pictures, she also got to feed a cow! Our wedding pictures turned out better than I could have ever imagined! She made my vision come to life- the pictures were very natural, bright, and so amazing! 5 months later- I am still obsessed with them!

When I started planning my wedding I knew that the photographer was the single most important element for me. I did a lot of research and Julie seemed like the best fit for the style and approach I wanted, so although I did not personally know anyone who had worked with her, I took a chance and hired her. Julie’s prices are higher than some, but there’s a very good reason for that. Julie is an exceptional photographer and a delightful individual to work with. The photos I received of my wedding were absolutely spectacular. Perfect lighting, beautiful angles, and masterful post processing. Hiring Julie was the best decision I could have made and I will always be grateful to her for perfectly capturing my wedding day.

First of all, Julie is the absolute best! Finding an amazing photographer for your engagement photos and wedding day can be super overwhelming, and I was definitely feeling that last year. I talked with a few different photographers, but after talking with Julie over zoom, I knew she was the perfect choice! She is super sweet, fun, relaxed, professional, and crazy talented. My husband and I felt super at ease when she was photographing us, and it was actually fun!:) On our wedding day, Julie’s husband also came to help, which was such an awesome surprise! We are really happy with how our photos turned out and couldn’t recommend Julie enough to photograph your special day!

Julie is what every photographer should hope to be-- kind, creative, flexible, and just an overall great person! She met with us in advance to get to know us and negotiate prices. Her photo packages online had everything we wanted except for rehearsal dinner family photos, so she included that in our package! Although the rehearsal dinner and original wedding plans didn't pan-out due to COVID, she captured my quarantine wedding day in the best ways. She was so flexible with our constantly changing plans and was super responsive. At the wedding, she was open to suggestions if you had a certain pose in mind, but if you didn't, she told you what to do to produce candid, beautiful shots! If you're like me and my husband and aren't sure what to do, where to put your hands, etc. she made us look like we knew what we were doing! Julie is truly a gem and I have since used her talents to capture my husband and I's headshots for medical school, all while having the best time walking around our campus. I would recommend Julie to anyone and everyone!

Where do I even start!? Julie was beyond AMAZING in every way! She took our engagement photos on a frigid January morning and wedding photos on the hottest day in July. She made us feel so comfortable from the very first phone call. She did a great job of making sure to ask us what types of photos we were looking for, including colors, location, and poses. She was extremely patient and kind. Julie did an excellent job of helping to make our smiles and laughs natural. She had some great tricks that would have us giggling right when our smiles were starting to tense up. My husband and I knew that we had found the perfect match in Julie after our engagement session. When she arrived at my Mother-in-Law’s house the day of the wedding, she fit in perfectly! She felt like family, which made it so easy to act like the camera was not there. My husband had nothing but great things to say about her husband, James, who was photographing the groomsmen getting ready. Now to the photos,,,,, WOW! The photos were stunning!! She captured the wedding evening perfectly! They were everything we asked for and more. Julie is extraordinarily talented!!!

Julie is seriously the best! She made my husband and I feel so comfortable during our engagement pictures and throughout our wedding day. Both sessions we did with her turned out AMAZING and we received tons of beautiful photos. Julie was super responsive when we had questions and made sure all of our requests came to fruition. She was super flexible when it came to our ideas, but was also not afraid to suggest her own based on her experiences. Overall, there are not enough good things to say about Julie, and we can't thank her enough for capturing our day exactly how we wanted it!

Julie was AWESOME! We originally were looking to pay half the price for our wedding photographer, but when we saw her journalistic-style photos that revealed authenticity and unique moments for each couple, we decided her work was worth spending more. Let me tell ya, after reflecting on the planning process and our wedding day, I would have been willing to pay DOUBLE if I knew how much she would help with the day of schedule, her flexibility in light of a pandemic, and the amazing photos we have today. Julie was prepared, organized, positive, fun to be around (but not in your face or telling you what to do all of the time), and easygoing. My husband and I are not picture people but Julie was still able to help us feel relaxed, comfortable, and to just be us!

Julie is an incredible photographer and even better person! We were honored to work with her. I cried when I saw our engagement photos ad then again when we received our wedding photos. She captured the essence of our relationship and we will treasure the photos for years to come. We are a COVID couple that faced the challenges of managing a wedding date at the height of a pandemic. I wish I could give Julie one million stars! If you are at all unsure of who to choose for a photographer Julie is it. We had the best experience! Julie is extremely professional and an absolute artist. We originally were planning a November wedding but due to COVID decided to make a change. When I called Julie she was more than accommodating about a complete change of plans and we later found out that the new date we had chosen was her birthday! She said nothing because she is so good about making the day all about the bride and groom. The entire day was full of going with the flow. It poured rain during our outdoor portion and she captured the moment with such artistry. What could have been seen as a wrench in the plans became some of our favorite photos. She had a backup plan ready and kept the day entirely stress-free. Julie was joined by her husband and they were extremely organized. The formal photos flew by. She captured all the combinations we wanted and was great with the younger kids too. My husband and I had a blast taking photos together and instead of it being a formality it was such a fun part of the day. As someone who is not all that keen on being in the spotlight, I was so comfortable having my picture taken by Julie. I am not sure how she does it, but I felt such trust from the beginning. Not only was she one of my favorite parts of our big day, but also her artistic eye is unmatched. We will absolutely cherish her photos for a lifetime.

Julie was an outstanding photographer and also just the kindest person! She was so easy to work with and always very professional. She was always making sure we were getting to shots we wanted and she had such a creative eye for shots we would have never even thought of that turned out to be our favorites! Julie is the sweetest person and her calm demeanor really helped me at the beginning when my nerves were getting to me! She is punctual and professional. The photos she took look like something out of a movie, they are so perfect and of such high quality and caliber. She knows which poses look best and she knows how to get that perfect shot. Wanted to add my positive review to the stack of glowing ones that Julie deserves for being such a great photographer, and being so easy to work with. Julie met my now-wife (!) and I at a coffee shop near our home so she could get to know us a little better. I have to give her a big shout out because Julie accommodated my wife and I's wedding date, even though we had moved our date up, and would now be getting married...in less than a month. When you know, you know, guys. Anyhow, Julie was a great listener, and so fun to be around. It didn't feel like she *just* wanted to get to know us to take our photos. With the way she told us about herself and her own relationship, it felt like she was an old friend we had bumped into. We genuinely had fun chatting with her, and she asked a lot of great questions about what kind of photos we wanted of our big day and the vibe we were going for. While we were already familiar with Julie's photography - having done a bit of research beforehand - meeting her in person really cemented for us that she was the right photographer to capture our wedding. My wife and I both left the meeting with very good vibes. The day of the wedding, Julie and her husband were fantastic - running here and there to make sure they captured everything properly, and putting up with my family who is chronically late to everything. She expertly coached me through my groom photos, which I found extremely helpful because I'm not at all comfortable being the subject of a camera. The wife and I were boarding a plane to go on our honeymoon when we got the preview batch of photos from Julie (that's how ridiculously fast she was). I'm not embarrassed to say that I cried when I saw them. They were fantastic. She did such a great job capturing the joy and liveliness of our wedding day, and it confirmed for us that hiring Julie was the right choice.

We had the absolute joy of having Julie photograph our wedding. When our wedding plans drastically changed just days before our date, she was super calm and flexible. She was super professional and friendly. Throughout our planning she was always really organized and responsive to any questions we had. The pictures she captured on our wedding day are amazing and we will cherish them forever!

Amazing! Julie photographed my wedding and my sisters wedding. I love Julie's style and eye for design. She is a true artist! Her photos are amazing! They say "It's all in the details". So I want to highlight some little details about Julie that really made a difference for us. I mean let's face it, Julie's photos speak for themselves. I don't need to tell you how great her photos are. You can look at her portfolio and its easy to see how talented she is. So I want to speak to some of the small details that you don't get to see in the photos... Julie is really good at directing people and getting them to stand where they need to be without sounding stressed or bossy. Let's face it, people don't always follow directions even when they are told ahead of time. In weddings I have been in, photographers frequently have to yell to get the attention of people. Or they show frustration when not everybody in the group is cooperating. Julie remains cool as a cucumber the entire time and somehow is able to get people to where they need to go while remaining calm and pleasant. I feel that this really adds to everybody's enjoyment of the day. As many reviews have mentioned Julie was calm and relaxed on the day of my wedding. I didn't realize how much that mattered until the day of. Jitters and nerves are all part of the process but Julie's calm and upbeat demeanor defiantly put me at ease. That alone was so valuable. And again, I didn't realize how much that mattered to me until the day of my wedding. I was also really impressed with how she can make photos look beautiful with a less than perfect backdrop. Both my wedding and my sisters wedding some of the "getting ready pics" were taken in places where the backdrop is less than ideal for photos (think dark, dingy church basement/ bachelor pad) yet somehow she made these photos look beautifully artistic. Julie is incredibly professional. Her process is so well thought out. She is so well organized. It made things really easy on my. Everything was so slick. Communication was prompt and we even had a sneak peak of our pics waiting for us the morning after our wedding. That was a nice surprise! This sounds like an odd thing to comment on, but both Julie and James dress comfortably and professionally while on the job. Photographers are artists and sometimes artists can be a bit eccentric. I've been to weddings where the photographer wears flashy outfits or outfits where they are clearly trying to draw attention to themselves. James and Julie don't try to steal the show. They dress nice and professionally in a way that is not distracting. I feel that Julie went above and beyond the role of a photographer. Our wedding was March 28th. Because of Covid 19 we had to completely change our wedding plans. As restrictions were coming in, locations and plans were changing on a daily basis. Julie was a HUGE help with this process she offered us suggestions and feedback and even put in some of the legwork to secure photography location. All the while remaining very calm and helping to keep me calm. We could not be happier with our wedding photos! And we are so grateful Julie was such an integral part of our special day!

I met Julie and her husband James of M. Julie Photo when they photographed my best friend's wedding. I was newly engaged at the time and loving this season of life where my friends were getting to receive the greatest gift of marriage. Julie and I had never met. Yet, the second she walked in the door, I felt like an old friend had joined our special circle of friends there to support our bride. Her gentleness and joyfulness wrapped our group in peace during the pre-wedding festivities and this continued throughout the entire day. When it came time to make decisions, adjust plans, and give directions, Julie approached these things with such grace and professionalism that truly made me feel like her only intention was to bring people together to form beautiful memories for her bride and groom. Soon after this experience, M. Julie Photo was the first vendor I booked for my own wedding. While there were so many incredible vendors that made our wedding what it was, Julie and James were the most special to me. Photos, and the memories that went into making them, live on forever. From our first planning meeting with Julie and James, I knew they were completely on our team. They focused on what WE wanted, and never guided us away from that for their own sake. For example: Do you know how much easier the wedding photo timeline can be if you do a first look? Many photographers may try and sway couples in this direction for the ease of the process. Julie and James showed excitement and support when we told them that we did not want this. They showed excitement and support for every decision we made. They got to know us as a couple, as people, and we now can call them friends. From a practical side for the practical bride (that was me!), the best part about booking Julie and James is the investment and what you get out of it. I adored having an engagement shoot included--one where Julie traveled to a place special to us and went above and beyond to get so many incredible shots. The flat rate investment with no extra conditions, gimmicks or slimy fine print meant that we got their full support and talent no matter what. Plus, getting full access and rights to our beautiful photos (as long as we do not edit them) after the wedding allowed us to make our own decisions about which we wanted and how we wanted to get them. Our wedding photos bring us so much joy. The people behind M. Julie Photo bring us so much joy. We hired M.Julie as our wedding photographer after a friend recommended her services, and we are so happy we did! I was blown away by how kind, attentive, and understanding she was during such a chaotic day, you can tell that she truly cares about each wedding and will do everything she can to make it a special experience. From the beginning, we had an amazing experience with Julie. My husband doesn’t care for taking pictures that much, but he had a great time with Julie! She was able to make the experience fun! We had some non-traditional ideas for engagement photos and she by far exceeded our expectations with them! She was awesome! Worth every penny! She was really good about checking in with us ahead of time to make sure she was clear on everything we wanted. She lets you download your own pictures and print where ever you want and as much as you want. When taking our first engagement pictures she did a really good job of making us feel comfortable! I originally stumbled across Julie's work while doing a search for Omaha photographers on Instagram. I was having a somewhat untraditional wedding in that I did not have a wedding party or a reception. I was looking for someone who was willing to do a customizable package because I didn't want to spend a fortune on a photographer when I only needed one for about half of a day. I sent Julie a message detailing what I was looking for and she sent me back a reply within a couple hours (side note: this was not an unusual response time for her-every email I sent to her was replied to that quickly). Not only was her response extremely prompt, but it was very thorough and detailed. She wanted to understand exactly what I was looking for. We ended up settling on a VERY reasonable price for the wedding day session. I had already scheduled engagement photos with a different photographer, but Julie offered to throw them in FOR FREE simply because she wanted to get to know us better. What a great idea! We had such a great time shooting with her. We all instantly became friends. She is so laid back and patient and worked very well with my comedian of a husband. ;) The engagement photos turned out wonderfully. We had them back within a couple of weeks. I got so many compliments on them! As for our wedding day experience with Julie, it was everything we could have asked for. It was literally like she was part of the family with how well she worked with everyone. There are a lot of comedians in my husband's family and she went along with all of the jokes and laughter, capturing many priceless "candid" photos. My mom, mother-in-law, and grandma all mentioned to me how much they loved our photographer! Similar to the engagement photos, the turn around time on our wedding photos was very fast. The best thing for me was there was a lot of photos, but not so many that it was overwhelming and impossible to pick from. The color and attention to detail in her photos was just stunning. I even ended up ordering one of my favorite photos on a giant canvas print to hang in our home. It is a photo I will cherish forever! I apologize for this long-winded review, but there really is no way to write about Julie in a brief review. She has so many great qualities and we are absolutely thrilled that we got to work with her. If you are looking for someone who will get you high quality photos at a reasonable price, definitely check her out. She is the BEST.

Julie did SUCH a fantastic job with both our engagement pictures and wedding pictures! For our engagement pictures it was so easy to be comfortable in front of the camera with her and she does such a great job personalizing the experience for each couple, even down to playing a personalized playlist with all our favorite songs during shooting! For our wedding pictures Julie and James were just so much fun to be around and I am amazed at their ability to capture every special moment. We LOVE our wedding pictures!! Julie is also quick with her editing and turnaround times with all her pictures. I can not recommend her enough!!
