About this vendor
Mackinaw Trail Winery is a wedding venue located in Petoskey, MI. This family-owned business was founded in 2004 by Ralph and Laurie Stabile, realizing their long-held dream of owning a winery. The grounds of this property are perfectly primed for those wishing to celebrate their special day in Italian-inspired fashion.
Mackinaw Trail Winery is located among the undulating hills of Northern Michigan. The estate and its surrounding grounds were designed to emulate the traditional wineries of Tuscany. You can begin preparations for your ceremony in the get-ready suite, allowing you to envelop yourself in the atmosphere of the winery before your celebration begins. This room is located in the Pavilion, which also features a fireplace and a panoramic view of the surrounding vineyards. Your service can take place outdoors on the carefully manicured lawns. An aisle is already marked in the grass by the delicate rust stonework which leads all the way down to a gazebo. This elegant structure, situated at the edge of a lake, is an ideal backdrop against which you can exchange your vows. You can host your reception under the peaked roof of the covered patio. This space is ideal for those that wish to enjoy the outdoor views while also being sheltered in the event of less-than-ideal weather. The patio space can accommodate seating arrangements of up to 300. There is still ample room for a dance floor in this space, allowing you and your guests to party the night away in style.
Mackinaw Trail Winery aims to provide an all-inclusive service to couples celebrating with them. They offer their award-winning wines and beers as part of their exclusive bartending service for your reception. On-site catering is also available, and you are welcome to consult with the chefs and sommeliers to find a perfect pairing wine for your menu. Your event will be overseen by attentive service staff to ensure that each and every one of your needs is met. All you need do is sit back, relax, and enjoy your milestone celebration among the vineyards.

I truly could not say enough amazing things about this venue. Jill and Hannah were absolute rock stars. From the beginning I felt like they were my best friends. Every guest had only positive things to say about the venue and the workers. The price was beyond fair for everything you receive by booking this venue. Beautiful, helpful, perfection. I have nothing negative to say. My husband and I are so thankful for making our day perfect.
Mackinaw Trail was a beautiful venue for our ceremony and reception! It was a beautiful day but the pavilion helped a TON when rain started! I would recommend Mackinaw Trail for a wedding venue any day!! The Stabiles and Jill were perfect and easy to coordinate with! It was a pleasure!
Mackinaw Trail is hands down one of the prettiest venues for a wedding in northern Michigan. We had so many compliments on how beautiful the winery was and how perfect our wedding was. The winery and facilities get a 10/10. However this winery is clearly not in the wedding business and it shows. We booked our wedding over a year in advance and had 3 different events coordinators until our wedding day. The first one was always out playing and never returned a single call or email. I had to literally call and beg her to take my deposit to hold the date. The second one was extremely nice and professional but only worked there for maybe 1 month (what does that tell you…). And as long as the third one, Jamie, is still working at Mackinaw Trail I will never recommend this place to anyone. She threatened to cancel the wedding 30 min before the ceremony, she was cutting people off who were not drunk, and she was extremely rude to just about everyone. I cannot tell you how many people had said something to me during and after the wedding about how terrible she was behind the bar. Stood around the entire weekend barking orders without offering any help whatsoever. Most answers were “I don’t know what to tell ya” and “It’s in your contract you should know”. She had one other girl helping behind the bar who looked so miserable and then told me she didn’t want to be there and how she was called in. The worst part about all of this is that they asked for the automatic gratuity be paid the day before. There’s no way I would have tipped very well after what we paid for and the service we received. Again, my wedding was perfect and luckily I was too distracted during the reception to notice what was happening at the bar. Everyone had the best time of their life and could not stop talking about how beautiful our wedding was. Mackinaw Trail is one of the prettiest venues in the area but has some serious work to do on finding the right staff.
I highly recommend Mackinaw Trail Winery and Brewery as a wedding venue. We held our ceremony offsite and held our reception at Mackinaw Trail, and it was the perfect setting. The vineyard scenery is beautiful and the beer and wine are great. Wedding guests enjoyed the lawn games and taking pictures outside the pavilion. Niki did a fantastic job making sure everything flowed smoothly on the day of the wedding, and everyone was very easy to work with during the planning process. Also, Sarah the dog is adorable!
A beautiful location to have a wedding! We could not have asked for a better venue! The pavilion was big enough to fit 150 guests, the craft beer and wine from the winery was a huge hit and they even let us set up the day before, and come the day after to clean up the rest. Kelly was amazing to work with, and made sure everything was in place and ready to go so we didn't have to stress the day of. If you are looking for a gorgeous wedding venue that will fit in a smaller budget, you need to look into this place!
I utilized this space and had The Twisted Olive Cater. The set-up was wine tasting tickets for all the guests with pay per glass after 5 tastings. I choose to provide 2 cases for all my guests for the remainder of the evening. The staff was awesome and helped the caterer set everything up and helped my father decorate. This is a perfect venue for any party activity where wine can be a nice addition. I would certainly recommend them!
