These women are godsends! Seriously. After a very serendipitous meeting, i fell in love with several of their gowns. Each dress had a piece that I loved, and so, together with my mother, Liz & Jannina (the mother & daughter designer duo behind Madeleine Fig), we designed a custom dress. I have never had any garment made for me, let alone a wedding dress, so I was nervous going into it, but I trusted these women whole-heartedly. From the very first meeting, they made me feel like family. I went to several other bridal stores before I met Liz & Jannina, and no one made me feel comfortable and insanely special like these women. Other places refused to let me try on a 4th dress because my time was up (only 55 minutes!), or didn't carry any dresses in my size (either skinny-minis or plus size everywhere!) so I could never get a sense of how a wedding dress would actually look on me. I remember before my first appointment with them, I texted Liz telling her that I was feeling defeated because other dresses didn't fit me. You know what she did?! She had her seamstress take out several of the sample dresses, so that I could try them on with ease and comfort and actually get a sense of the dress. Each appointment after that was hours long (they always remind you to bring food with you!) because they spend serious time making sure you are getting exactly what you want. I literally could go on about them forever. I even invited them to my wedding, because that process of designing a dress with them and my mom was so freaking meaningful to me. I CANNOT wait to show off my dress to my future husband, and our wedding guests, and literally everyone else, because it is a showstopper. When I put it on at my final fitting, I burst into tears. They created something so unique and so special that the emotion was overwhelming. I have never worn something so beautiful and I have never felt more beautiful than that final fitting. I could keep going on and on, but just know that you will not get a better wedding dress experience anywhere else. Liz, Jannina and their wonderful in house staff are the dream team! I could not have done any better than this when getting the most important dress of my life! I had looked at over 100 gowns, and tried on more than I could process. Madeleine Fig took me in, captured my style and personality, and created a custom-made gown that was everything I wanted! She worked with my budget, my worries, and even gave me great tips for the big day. I recommend anyone looking for a gorgeous gown to go take a look! It's worth it!
