Madeline exceeded all expectations as a wedding planner! My daughter’s wedding this past September was an unforgettable event, and we couldn’t have done it without her expertise and dedication. Since we’re not from the Pittsburgh area, Madeline guided us through every step of the planning process with professionalism and care.
She helped us select top-notch vendors, including florists, invitations, menu cards, musicians, linens, transportation—you name it, she handled it flawlessly. She also went above and beyond by assisting us in negotiating pricing, which we deeply appreciated. Madeline even took on the task of preparing beautiful welcome boxes for our out-of-town guests, which turned out exactly as we envisioned.
On the wedding day, I was able to fully relax and enjoy every moment, knowing Madeline had everything under control. She kept everything and everyone on schedule, allowing us to focus solely on celebrating.

I'm your typical type A bride, so giving up control wasn't easy. But what a GIFT it was to be totally present the day of the wedding, having no worries, knowing Madeline was handling everything.
As a non-local bride, I was so grateful to have Madeline know the ins and outs of all vendors in the Pittsburgh area. She connected me with vendors who gave us the BEST experience, and made the day 10000x times better. I received so many compliments about how the wedding day flowed, and I really owe all of the logistics to Madeline. She was 1 step ahead the entire night - handing the champagne to my dad before his toast (which he never would've remembered), to sending us off on the party bus to the after party bar (which wasn't planned!). These little things I never would have thought of, but her expertise guided us through having the most well-organized bash ever!!!! My family being from out of town reallyyyy appreciated all the planning - especially the assembly of our welcome bags and delivery to the hotels!

She gave us the wedding of our dreams and still (a full year later) am blown away by every detail. If I had to pick two things about Maddy that put her in a league of her own, it’s her natural talent for creating and executing a truly stunning vision and her good vibes only, low stress, cool-calm collected-personality. Your wedding planner is about to partner with you for a very exciting! But sometimes stressful 12+ months, and I couldn’t have asked for someone better.
For context, my husband and I are both surgical residents with busy schedules. We had a lot of disorganized excitement, big ideas, and wanted the day to be focused on love, fun, and dancing. I had calls with 9 other planners before we talked to Maddy, and I kept getting off the each of the other intro calls feeling like we weren’t going to get the guidance we really needed. Immediately it was clear that Maddy embraced our chaos - she took our scattered thoughts, read between the lines, and turned them into a stunning vision board that was exactly what we wanted. She listens, and truly customizes each vendor recommendation, design element, timeline choice to the vision and goals that you have for your day. Her experience allows her to synthesize all of these factors into a cohesive picture before you yourself have a distinct vision. It made it so easy to quickly trust her talent and skill and give her the reigns and I’m so glad we did! If you take a look at the weddings she’s done over the last few years, you see that each are truly customized to the couple and the elements of a wedding day that are most important to them. There is absolutely no rinse and repeat here - I truly admire her seemingly constant flow of novel creative ideas.
She made herself incredibly available. Whether it was for frequent zoom check-ins, vendor visits, email, quick texts, instagram DMs for ideas - she was responsive, available, hilarious. This level of availability is unheard of in the wedding planning industry!!
She keeps your budget on track. We told her where we wanted to splurge and where we wanted a more budget-friendly option, and she had solutions and suggestions for each thing. She is supportive of your wishes, but also balances that by being sure to give you other points to consider if there’s something that she knows from experience might not work well.
She is your advocate and your problem solver. She navigated an awkward interaction a vendor (pre-wedding) with exceptional professionalism, completely taking any stress or responsibility off of my plate. When our venue wanted to establish their standardized timeline for things, she stepped in and made sure we got our Manhattan dance set. She is quick to take things off your plate, going above and beyond the call of a wedding planner. And if there were any problems in the 72 hours around my wedding - I will never know about them, because she solved those before they ever made it to us!!
She is a star in this industry and you should have no hesitation to book her!! Maddy we will never be able to thank you enough for our perfect day.
Madeline is the absolute best! I'm not quite sure how we would have made this day happen without her. Everything from her design ideas to her communication with myself and my vendors was perfection. Madeline's colleagues were present for the day of my wedding and thanks to them it went so smoothly. I cannot express how perfect everything was. Madeline was absolutely wonderful and we could not have done it without her! My new husband and I are not the most organized or good at planning, so having her helping us through the process was essential. She gave us many ideas and suggestions, was always able to refer us to good vendors and make sure everything was set up and planned accordingly. She has a great online planning platform that helps you to see your progress, keep notes, make a seating chart, save mood boards, and much more. It was a useful tool to have and helped to keep us motivated in the planning process. She was able to help us deal with some stubborn vendors too in order to make sure our day was exactly how we wanted it to be. Madeline is very down to earth, personable, creative, friendly, and easy to talk to. She is passionate about what she does and is excellent at knowing the couple she works with and their style. I highly recommend her for anyone intimidated by the planning process, she will help make everything seem manageable! My wedding went so smoothly and all of the set up and tear down was taken care of by her team and the vendors she coordinated. We are SO glad she was with us through this process!
Madeline played a huge role in our wedding was being the best day ever ☺️ from the get-go, she helped us stay on top of tasks and the timeline, and when it came to the day of, we had to switch to plan B because of the weather and she did it seamlessly. A friend asked me recently if I remembered much of my wedding day or if it felt like one big blur. I can confidently say, that months later, I remember EVERY SINGLE SECOND. It almost felt like the day was moving in slow motion. And it is absolutely, 100% because Madeline was there. She took care of everything. All I had to do was show up and enjoy my day (which was especially important as an out-of-town bride)! If anything went wrong on the day, I still have absolutely no idea. That's how well she handled everything. My husband even commented to me the next day that he enjoyed our entire wedding experience infinitely more because of her.
On top of that, she is a delightful person to work with. She is prompt, thorough, friendly, and will keep you on track during the planning process. She is also extremely respectful of your personal tastes and overall vision. She will in no way push you toward a vendor or idea that does not fit your style. On the contrary, she takes care to internalize your vision and help you achieve it to perfection. Not only that, she has an extremely calming presence. As someone who gets anxious easily, having Madeline around made me instantaneously relax because I knew she had everything under control.

Excellent in every conceivable way. My wedding day was absolutely the best day of my life and Madeline was a major part in making this possible. There are not enough kind things to say about her. She is professional, a mediator, and a problem solver. She is well connected in the Pittsburgh industry making planning with multiple companies and vendors seamless. Shen she says she will do
something she does it, and I knew early on in working with her that she would make sure we had a beautiful wedding. She has vision and even when I provided her with very little of my own personal wedding design inspiration she made our venue classy, beautiful and uniquely ours. She listened to all of my thoughts and brought them to life- she also offered advice and creative ideas when I wasn’t sure what I wanted. Madeline is on top of every detail so when wedding week rolled around all I had to worry about was having fun and enjoying every moment. I was planning this wedding in Pittsburgh from out of town and she made the process easy and enjoyable. We needed advice for other vendors to hire such as caterers, a DJ, etc and every single recommendation she made was outstanding. I don’t even know where to begin with Madeline and her amazing skills! This was a busy wedding year and she had weddings almost every weekend leading up to ours on NYE. She was FABULOUS! Everything from catch up calls, reminders, discussing timeline with other vendors, etc! Her designs and styles are impeccable. She brought every vision to life!

She brought my new daughter in law and son’s vision to life. She was kind, professional, attentive and creative. We have received so many compliments on what a 5 star wedding it was and we owe it all to her. Through the whole night, she was unassuming but right there orchestrating everything. We LOVED her and have already recommended her to a number of parents that are also in the season of planning weddings for their children. I couldn’t have done it without her supporting my kids. There will never be enough words to express the gratitude my husband and I have for Madeline Kelly!!! We came to her wanting to get married in less than 6 months and had only a venue, so we were a bit lost to say the least haha. We talked about what we liked and she came back to us with beautifully stunning designs that exceeded all of our expectations. Her communication throughout the process was so great; she was so on top of things and calmed my nerves throughout the entire planning process. When it came to wedding day, Madeline somehow became even more amazing! Every detail of our day was perfect and beautiful, she came up to us all through the night and asked what she could do for us, and she even took her coat off and gave it to me as we took portraits in the freezing cold. Madeline was wonderful. She made a miracle happen for us since we decided to have a shot gun wedding. She transformed the rooftop we were able to rent into this beautiful oasis in the city. We were shocked how she turned our vision (and pinterest boards) into a reality. Top communication, top quality. I would recommend Madeline to anyone.
My husband and I hired Madeline for planning, coordination, and day-of services for our wedding reception and were so happy with everything she did for us! We were living in Brooklyn and didn't know a lot of the local vendors, but Maddy had all the right contacts for planning from afar. She was crucial in helping us find our florist, wedding band, lighting, and tailoring them all to our individual style! It was amazing to have her support with all the small details and pieces we didn't even think to consider.
She was really flexible working with us for the months leading up to the event, and was always available for any coordination calls & chats we requested. Our venue wasn't very communicative but she went above and beyond trying to reach them, and when we needed some last-minute lighting the week before the event, she pulled it off!
The event itself was gorgeous and she did an amazing job setting up all the signage, coordinating florals, table-setting.. everything! It was so nice to know that we were in good hands and could trust her with all the important stuff. We could relax and enjoy the beautiful setting Maddy created!
We hired Madeline as our day of coordinator for our July 2022 wedding. She was extremely helpful in the planning process and went above and beyond to make sure everything was prepped. Her timeline management & planning portal was an amazing tool to keep all of the wedding details in one place. She is very knowledgeable about weddings and knows the tips and tricks on how to make your wedding day go smoothly. We had a complicated wedding setup and Madeline perfectly executed our day of decor & rentals and coordinating our many hired vendors. Our wedding wouldn't have happened without her!
I really underestimated the amount of work, time, and emotional/mental/physical energy that goes into planning a wedding, and I can confidently say that we would not have survived that process without Madeline Kelly!!! She was extremely accommodating to our hectic schedules, flexible, patient, resourceful, creative, and above all else very kind. She maintains a sense of calm in stressful situations, and helps manage difficult conversations when conflicting opinions arise. She recommended some of our best vendors to us (photog, cake, etc), which was so helpful considering we were planning our wedding from another state for 2 whole years. Her planning tools were very organized and straight forward, which helped us keep track of payments, rsvps, and several other deadlines. When the day of the wedding finally came, she made sure everything was in place and ready to go 5 steps before I even thought of it. As a bride, that's all I could have ever wished for. We love her, and would recommend her to anyone!
So the only thing better than working with Madeline is getting to do it again. She puts the S in special. Madeline will help make your wedding dreams a reality. Hosted our second wedding in 18 months and we’re thrilled to have her working with us to make the day memorable for everyone. WE LOVE MADELINE!!!! Honestly, our wedding day was absolutely perfect and we could not have done it without Madeline. She took my vision (which I could hardly communicate at first) and brought it to life. From communicating with vendors to organizing all of our rentals to setting up the drop dead gorgeous reception room, there was not a single detail that was forgotten. And even during the reception, she was a huge help just making sure things ran smoothly. She’s incredible and I would hire her over and over again. I can't rant & rave enough about Madeline. At first, I was hesitant about needing a day of wedding coordinator. But as wedding planning continued, I was overwhelmed with all the planning. Madeline was definitely worth every penny. My first phone call meeting with Madeline took so much weight off of my shoulders. She gave so much advice & helped tremendously with wedding planning even 6 months out. Just our scheduled phone calls always made me feel better afterwards.
For our rehearsal, she ran the show. She introduced herself to the wedding party, and everyone felt so comfortable with her. The jokes from my groom's side did not change in any way. She made sure everyone, including my grandparents and violinist, were comfortable with the line-up and timing of walking down aisle/music. Madeline also set a game plan up with my mom & me on rehearsal night. This was such a relief for my "night before" planning/anxiety that I was expecting.
Day of wedding I could not have asked for anyone better. Madeline was there before hair & makeup started. She started doing her thing. She kept perfect contact with me while my bridesmaids were getting their hair and makeup done. I didn't hear from her much, only when necessary if one of my visions wasn't going to work out, such as the pillar candles on the (uneven) ceremony aisleway; our new plan was 2 texts away from being "okayed" on my end, and it was just as perfect as my original vision. I 100% trusted her opinion and her creative mind to make my decor work when something wasn't working as I had planned.
It was sprinkling during our first look and family pictures. As we were finishing up, Madeline was on it watching the weather and let us know that at our ceremony time, the weather was going to storm. Obviously with an outdoor ceremony, I was upset. Madeline comforted me and made sure I was okay. As I made my way back to my bridesmaids in the bridal suite 20 minutes before ceremony, Madeline was full force into making a ceremony site under our reception tent.
I could never have done everything Madeline had done for me while trying to get myself & bridesmaids ready for our big day. I was able to enjoy my wedding day with my bridesmaids, my mom, and mother-in-law while Madeline decorated, and problem solved. I received nothing but compliments from the guests who were at the venue at the time of the rain crisis. They said Madeline was amazing and did not hesitate or stop until what needed moved was moved, and the ceremony site was moved to under the reception tent. Madeline was amazing & did everything I needed her to & more. I am forever grateful for Madeline. She made our wedding day a fairytale and I am so grateful I was able to enjoy the day with minimal worries, knowing Madeline had it handled.
Madeline was amazing! I initially did not think that I needed a day of coordinator for my wedding and that I would be able to manage all my vendors on the day of myself; however, after getting deep into the planning realized it was too much for myself. Madeline managed all the vendors, so I didn’t have to worry about a thing the day of the wedding, but she also did so much more. We had several calls a few months out from the wedding where she diligently went through all my plans and details and gave me great advice and answered all my questions. She transformed the ideas that we had and made them amazing. On the day, she truly made our venue look gorgeous that all our guests could not stop talking about it. Our day wouldn’t have been the same without Madeline. Thank you so much!
We used Madeline as our day-of-coordinator and she is worth her weight in GOLD. Any time I had an issue (where are the shuttles??? oh, it's raining now?? can you find me a laptop charger??) She was on it. She coordinated all the vendors and kept us all on schedule. Every time she came up to me and said, "Okay, cake is on the schedule next, are you ready...." I kept thinking, "oh thank god I'm not doing this on my own." I really was just able to relax and enjoy the day-- and it all went SO smoothly. In our pre-planning call, she also helped answer some of my questions (how much am I supposed to tip people?) and helped us come up with a timeline for the day. I would highly recommend her as a day-of coordinator!!
I hired Maddy because she had great reviews on The Knot and Wedding Wire, and I liked her personality initially. I hired her as a partial planner because I live in CA, but I was planning a wedding in PA and needed help.
Maddy was absent in responding to my multiple emails and texts. It usually took her about a week to respond to me. My wedding was on October 16th, and between October 1st - 8th she was unresponsive to my multiple texts and emails.
Maddy showed up 15-20 minutes late to the rehearsal. She wasn't really helpful at all during the rehearsal, leaving me to take the lead. After we ran through the rehearsal once, she admitted that she had another wedding to go help with so she “had to jet.”
On our wedding day, there were many things I noticed that she didn’t do the way we had originally discussed. The guest book table was completely bare; no greens or candles. I assumed that she must have run out of decor to use. However, this wasn’t the case. I have 72 unopened, unused votives and 22 glass cylinders that hadn’t been used, none of which can be returned or refunded. Maddy didn't decorate the bar or high tops either. She knew that we weren’t going to have flowers, and that the ambiance was going to be focused on candles and greenery. Knowing that we had so many leftover candles, I’m wondering why they weren’t used.
The cake was also not decorated. Knowing that my cake was going to be plain, she agreed to decorate it with lose flowers or greens, be she neglected to do this.
The table numbers that were used were not the table numbers we had agreed upon. On the Monday prior to the wedding, she confirmed that she would bring the glass/acrylic table numbers she offered me to borrow. I assume she forgot to bring them because the table numbers that were used were a makeshift plastic black and white card with a long metal stand (like the kind you would take to your table at a restaurant). They were hideous. They looked super tacky and threw off the whole look that we were trying to achieve on each table. Again, Maddy did not follow through on her promise.
Guests noticed that she was still setting up during the ceremony, and I feel that this should’ve all been completed ahead of time. If she did not have enough time to complete this on the day of the wedding, she had the option to go in earlier in the week to begin set up. Instead, she waited until last minute, and it showed. She knew that guests would be passing by the reception area in order to get to the ceremony, so it would just seem logical and professional to ensure that everything is set for the reception before guests arrive. Clearly this wasn’t the case, and due to this, guests likely didn’t have that “wow” factor that we were hoping for upon their arrival since things weren’t completely set up.
Lastly, I noticed that the graphic on the screens was not the same graphic that she originally showed me. This makes me think that she may have dropped the ball on this and either lost the original one that I approved, or just threw this together last minute to send to the AV people. Regardless, this wasn’t the graphic I had agreed on, and once again, I’m wondering why.
I wanted to voice my concerns and hopefully save some future brides the hassle of every hiring Maddy. I sent an email to Maddy voicing these same concerns to give her an opportunity to explain herself. I sent the email to her 3 days ago and still have not received a response, which isn't surprising.
When I first thought about hiring a planner I was deep into the planning process so I was only looking for Day of Coordination to ensure everything was running smoothly. Hiring Madeline & Kelly was the best decision. They were a referral from other planners that were unavailable and I am so glad I got the opportunity to work with both of them. Kelly became our main contact for the wedding and she far exceeded my expectations! She was there for me every step of the way as we got closer to our wedding. She made sure we had everything we needed before and during our wedding. When we had a glitch with our silverware not getting delivered, Kelly jumped right in and made sure to get the problem solved. I never felt stressed about the day because she had it covered.
I am so sad our wedding is over because I love Kelly and being able to work with her. Thank you for everything Kelly!
When we canceled our California wedding due to Covid and moved it back home to Pittsburgh I knew I needed a planner to help me execute my beachy boho wedding in the city. I also really needed the help because I was planning long distance. Maddy was the first and only wedding planner I spoke with and we are sooo glad we went with her! I had already hired most of my other vendors and booked the venue but really needed someone to bring my vision to life. Maddy totally understood what I was looking for and brought it all to life. She came up with the most unique ideas (like a succulent wall art instillation for our table name cards) or bamboo chandeliers with beautiful floral arrangements for inside the tent. I truly was in awe when I walked out onto the terrace where our wedding took place and saw it all come to life. To be honest I hadn’t even given her too much inspiration to go off of she just got it. Everyone kept commenting how the wedding was “so us” and “so unique and beautiful” and the best part was all of her creative ideas did not break the bank. Maddy was always available for a quick call or text and the day of my wedding I didn’t have to worry about a thing. I can’t recommend her enough!
Having Madeline was the best decision we could have made!! We got in touch with Madeline about 6 months into the wedding process and wish we would have done it earlier! I knew the minute when we first spoke that she was going to be the reason I could get through the wedding planning process! She made every stress of planning go away (and trust me there was a lot of stress on my end)! She was always willing to hop on a call to go over any detail, whether it was big or small. She also knew I was a super visual person and did an amazing job to work with me so that all my visions of my wedding would come true. AND THE WORST/BEST PART IS…The week of our wedding our DJ canceled on us but Madeline kept me calm as she worked her magic behind the scenes to arrange the best DJ in Pitt to DJ our wedding. Without her I have no idea what we would have done!!! What seemed like the worst thing that could happened, turned into one of the best parts of the wedding. We got a total upgrade and it was all thanks to Madeline!! She is truly the best and will make your big day everything you want and more!! HIRE HER. I promise you won’t regret it!

You can tell from the first moment that she has plenty of experience and is able to bring all of your visions to life. If you have an idea not only will she try to extract that idea, but she will be able to improve it with her own creativity. She has plenty of vendors, with amazing teams, that are able to create the experience for one of the most important days in your life. Our wedding was like a dream, and Madeleine made sure it was nothing short of perfect. She spent hours on calls not only with us but with our vendors. Madeline created these helpful PDF documents of entire floor plans, decor visions, and seating arrangements. Where do I start? Maddy was THE BEST! She went above and beyond for us. We had a wedding in our backyard, and she turned it into the most romantic, fun atmosphere. I sometimes forgot I was even at our home, it was so beautiful! Her vision and décor were absolutely perfect! We had a few unexpected things occur that she made seem so irrelevant. We did get what an outdoor wedding never wants, rain. However, she made the entire ceremony and reception feel as though we wanted rain all along and made that feel special, and it did. She worked SO HARD to pull that off. I felt no stress at all my wedding day knowing she was by our side. I trusted her every move, and that completely paid off. It was the perfect day! Due to the pandemic, just two months before my son and daughter-law’s April wedding (who live in Texas), we had to change from an elegant indoor Pittsburgh venue where everything was done for us, to a clear tented outdoor venue in a new location that was a blank slate. At this point, we knew we needed professional planning support. Madeline Kelly Events came highly recommended by the vendors we had chosen. After our first hour conversation on the phone, I knew Madeline was the right choice. Madeline told the couple that "their Plan B would turn out better than their plan A". Wow, did Madeline deliver! She immediately dug in, from the rentals, creating the breathtaking black & white color palette, designing the "OMG" greenery and wisteria 3 hooped chandeliers hanging over the dancefloor, to even hiring the serving company (Just to name a few.) Maddy also has a background in food and beverage and planned many black-tie events, therefore she planned the elegant wedding reception of their dreams at a location that had special meaning to the bride and their family. Madeline is THE BEST. I was the Matron of Honor in a wedding two weeks ago at Robin Hill in Moon Twp and it was beyond beautiful. I was included in a meeting before the wedding with her and the bride at the venue to discuss flowers and spacing. Her vision, professionalism and organization are all top notch. On top of that, she is extremely personable and you can truly see how much she cares about your special day! When I walked into the venue the day of the wedding I was overwhelmed with how amazing everything was! I wished that I could have had her by my side in my wedding years ago! I called Madeline in desperation, and she helped me organize my vision, communicate with my vendors, and ultimately pulled together my dream day. Maddie Kelly was awesome to work with. She helped keep us organized and within our budget. She has a great vision and is able to pull it off. For my daughter Lauren's cookie table she made swings hanging from the ceiling with cookies on the swings. Lauren's cookie table was named best cookie table for 2018 by Pittsburgh Magazine. For Marissa's wedding she had an amazing talent with decorating the ballroom with the beautiful flower arrangements. We are working with Maddie for my third daughter's wedding. She is truly a pleasure to work with and highly recommend her for event planning needs.
Working with Madeline as our wedding planner was an absolute pleasure. She made the process so seamless. I never felt stressed or overwhelmed.
