the type of photos I was looking for (maternity and newborn) and provided clear contract expectations, and share tips related to wardrobe and location. She was also extremely flexible rescheduling one session and finding a new location for another. In each session Jessica did an amazing job, making a reality the vision that I had for the photos. Jess styled the most wonderful area for the engagement and Meg was hiding in the trees for the perfect shot. Obviously, we knew we’d be using Maewood for our engagement photos and wedding!!! We connected with Meg and Jes again. Scheduled our engagement photos, which of course had a TON of rain in the forecast. Meg and Jess were on top of it, communicating throughout the entire process and offering a plethora of options to ensure we get the photos we wanted. As the oldest child in my family, I had no idea where to remotely start with planning. The Maewood Collective has gone above and beyond to be so much more than “just” photography and coordinating. Only to be surprised by the amazing photos Jes captured, even during my daughter's meltdowns. Jes was so patient and had such a positive attitude during the entire shoot. She even went out of her way to run to her car and grab any snacks she possibly had in attempt to cheer my daughter up. She captured what it is to be a mother. al from the '50s. With her entrance came a much needed exhale from the bride, and from that moment on I was able to relax. She buzzed around the suite like a little hummingbird...all smiles and encouragement, and before I knew it, she floated back in to organize The First Look. Through many of our previous conversations, I was still on the fence about doing a "First Look", but Jes assured me with some of the other parameters we had placed on ourselves (exchanging vows at sunset for instance) it would be a good idea. Note to brides and grooms lucky enough to have Jes handle your photography? Always, ALWAYS listen to Jes. Some of the moments she captured during that incredibly special private time are some of my favorites from the day and it was honestly an honor to have Jes included in those few moments in our lives. She is such a positive presence...it was like having an angel witness the first few seconds of us seeing each other.....an angel with a camera. From the moment her shutter first clicked she was total business. With a smile as big as could be, she wrangled family, friends, our beloved dog who developed a massive attention span deficit that morning. (Most of our guests already suffered from that affliction!) Family and friends were added and removed with such precision from photos we were able to capture every requested combination and more within an extremely tight window of time. If I didn't see the remarkable photos she shot during our ceremony, I would have had no idea she was there. The moments of tears, gut-busting laughter, and a beautiful moment of me giving Mom my bouquet to hold as our friend pushed her down the aisle next to Dad and me. (Yes, again, LISTEN TO JES! ALWAYS) Every guest was photographed.....every detail.....moments I wouldn't remember without seeing them captured forever. She was adored by everyone in attendance, in fact, more than once I answered who our "wedding planner" was and where we found her. From the first moment we spoke on the phone I knew I found someone very special and gifted. To this day, I think Jes was put in our path as a reward for some of the chaos and trying times we found ourselves in along the way. It's so rare to find a person that is so naturally selfless and has such a beautiful heart. I can't recommend a more talented photographer as I can't look through our gallery without crying, but this woman brings so much more with her than her brilliant eye and creativity. She is such a beautiful person..... she will touch your heart in a way you can never imagine and elevate "your day" by simply being there. Prepare to fall head over heels with this woman! George and I sure did! We love you Jes! We can't thank you enough and we're thrilled to call you family now!
