sh descent, went to UC Berkeley and Southwestern Law School, and was practicing law in CA. We had approximately 140 guests attend our destination wedding from London, Hong Kong, Canada, CA, NY and a host of other places. OUR EXPERIENCE WITH MAGDA: Magda is a Florida-based photographer who works on a medley of photography projects, including modeling and wedding shoots. She is ridiculously pleasant and very flexible. Working with her was inspiring because you could see her dedication to her work product and making sure her client is happy. Magda contacted us from Florida to let us know she is taking a short trip with her girlfriends to L.A. for pleasure and wanted to know if we have time to meet her for a drink. It was endearing and we met up with her at her hotel lobby. She genuinely wanted to learn about us as a couple and get to know us. It was so nice to work with a photographer who was not jaded and who considered our big day truly special. She gave us marriage advice and we had a great time with her. Again, when we went to visit Miami to meet with the hotel and she learned we were there she wanted to make the trip and come meet us. She walked through ideas with the bride and saw pictures of her dress and hair. She also walked through the hotel premises to study lighting and scenery. Meanwhile, during the months between when we hired her and the wedding, the bride and she shared picture ideas via text, email, pinterest, etc. Magda was so responsive and genuinely involved. Finally, we must share one anecdote from the actual wedding day. There is a Persian custom where towards the end of the wedding guests pick flower petals off the centerpieces and surround the bride and groom; the dj then plays a farsi wedding song whose lyrics says shower the bride and groom with flowers and everyone throws the wedding petals they are holding. Magda stayed past her contract time to capture this moment. And although it was towards the end of the party where you would expect her to be wiped out, she literally kept getting on the floor during the song, piling petals in her hand and throwing them in the air while simultaneously taking shots of us with flowers in the air. She didn’t care the floor was so dirty by this point. She didn’t care that she could be stepped on at any moment. She was going to get this shot no matter what. We saw her doing this and it warmed our heart; and our guests saw it and were floored – there was a lot of chatter the next day about Magda – everyone was highly impressed. THE PHOTOS: We are still waiting for the majority of our photos as Magda is touching them up, etc. But she did surprise us meanwhile with a beautiful video clip that is based on some of her photos of us. We melted when we saw it and were so excited to share the clip with our friends and family. One thing of note – Magda captured a lot of beautiful “moments” we would have otherwise never seen. For example, she captured a close up of one sibling rubbing the tears from his eyes during the ceremony when he had no clue he was being photographed. We can’t wait to see the rest of our pictures!
