By far the worst vendor we hired. This review is for a 130 person, six figure wedding in CA. My wife (!) and I live on the East coast and were really depending on Megan to help us plan our wedding out West in San Diego. It should have been a red flag that we wanted to fire her after her first 2 months and seemed very disconnected, but she came highly recommended from a friend so figured we would give her a shot. She took the month before our wedding off to go on vacation in Asia, spelled people’s names wrong, mixed up colors, and ultimately did an extremely poor job of executing our wedding. She was the hardest vendor to deal with and my wife cried twice throughout the day given these errors and in my view were just poor mistakes from not paying attention to detail and double-checking things. We handled most of the vendors personally and to be honest it reached a point where we didn’t want her involved.
A lot of these issues were corrected within 5 minutes of my wife and I getting involved throughout our day – in other words even onsite she just wasn’t with it. She was more concernd weith appeasing the vendors and building building relationships then executing our vision. I see a lot of 5-star reviews on here and I would imagine these weddings were either simple, or small – because I know she just was in way over her head with ours and it wasn’t even that large compared with other weddings I have been too. IMHO = avoid at all costs.
We loved working with Megan throughout this process! Megan is not only a deeply kind soul, but she's incredibly dedicated to making sure that the days is YOURS. We were able to merge tradition with our unique spins, and Megan accommodated and adjusted without missing a beat. She was highly communicative of everything beforehand, letting us know what was happening and anticipating issues we never would have seen coming without her. All our vendors were completely in sync and prepared, and we feel that was 100% due to Megan's efforts. Even when things didn't go according to plan, Megan was able to swoop in and make it feel like it always was exactly what we intended to happen. The guests didn't know any different, and honestly, we didn't either. We had a wedding of a lifetime that we were able to enjoy completely because there wasn't a moment we didn't feel confident everything was handled. Thank you, Megan, for supporting us, our wedding, and helping us start our marriage off with a BANG. We literally COULD NOT have done this without you.
Where do I even start! Megan is an absolute gem and lifesaver in the entire wedding process. When we first reached out to Megan (she came highly recommended from a friend) she gave a huge sense of relief knowing we would be in good hands. From the very start, Megan was so detail oriented and made us feel so special and excited. Megan had a trip pre-planned during our wedding but ensured us that her team would be there to make our day flawless and it truly was. Leading up to our wedding, Megan was extremely thorough and supportive. I loved how organized she was and sharing google docs made it so nice to see things updated in real time. Megan took the time to reach out to me simply to "check in" and see how I was feeling, if there was anything else she could help with, and just sharing kind words. The attention to detail was so obvious when working with Megan. She communicated with all of our vendors, created an extremely detailed timeline of the big day and even sent emails to our entire wedding party with details on rehearsal and Wedding day. It was so nice to have one less thing to think about!
On our wedding day, we also had the privilege to work with Jessica and two assistants and were blown away by their attentiveness and care. Our wedding was majority DIY and Megan's team assisted with so much of the set up. This allowed our family to truly enjoy the day and not feel stressed or miss any special moments.
My husband's shoes became quickly very uncomfortable after our ceremony and when I mentioned to Jessica that I forgot to bring an extra pair, without hesitation, told us that someone from the team would go out and grab a new pair for him. Within the hour (probably closer to 30 minutes) they came back with pair of shoes. Megan (and team), I don't think I could say this enough times... we are so incredibly thankful for everything. I HIGHLY recommend working with Magical Moments by Megan.
I am so grateful I had the chance to have Megan coordinate my wedding. She was wonderful from day one through every moment of the wedding. She truly made the day magical by being so organized, detail-oriented, hard-working, compassionate, and just an all-around amazing human being. She was a pleasure to work with and I cannot recommend her enough.
We didn't end up working with Megan (although if we did, I probably would have left 5 stars!), because we decided to change our venue from California to another state.
But up until the time that we made the difficult decision to change locations, Megan was so great to work with. SUPER organized with checklists, getting to know you docs/forms, regular video calls, and super clear communication. I have no doubt that if we had decided to keep our wedding in Cali, Megan would made it amazing.
If you're planning on doing your wedding in SoCal, I definitely recommend Megan!
From the moment you bring Megan on to coordinate your wedding, all your stress and worry will fade away. She knows and understands every part of planning a wedding, from the macro at 3 months out to how to beautifully arrange a welcome table and making sure every guest is cared for. Every moment of our wedding was flawless because of her. With Megan on our team, nothing was worry. If you're getting married, make sure you have her there to help.
I cannot even begin to rave on how amazing and a true blessing on finding Megan has been! She is one of the most compassionate, thoughtful, down-to-earth, organized and detail oriented people I have ever worked with. We wanted to get married pretty quickly as we have a little one on the way and planning a wedding was beyond the capacity I could handle. I talked to a few event planners but I knew right away that Megan would be the one we would be moving forward with. She had the connections, she had taken such a great intake with us, and overall was someone I trusted right off the bat and knew she would get everything done for us the we wanted!
A timeline on how things went down for us in 2021:
May 23rd - we got engaged
May 25th - reached out to Megan about an elopement for August 1st
May 28th - consulted with Megan with what we were looking for and how we wanted our day to commence
June 2nd - signed contracts with Megan and she got to work on booking our vendors + planning & organizing our big day
July 24th - timeline and everything completely confirmed
Aug 1st - our perfect wedding in Big Bear!
The vendors were booked and communicated with after just maybe one or two conversations based on our preferences. Every detail was completed along side with recommendations we didn't even think about.
Everyone asked me how we pulled this off so fast. My only answer and recommendation is Megan. I would highly recommend her for your big day! She is a true professional with a great network, team and overall expert. We are so grateful and blessed we found her!
What can I say about Megan, she is a gift sent from above! I found her on the knot just hours after I found out my original coordinator moved out of state and told me less than 30 days before the wedding. I was a mess when I found her and from the first message I got from her she was already giving me support and easing me from my stress. My wedding ended up getting postponed and she was so accommodating with it. She is organized to the T, and I'm OCD and she made everything perfect. She never told me any problems, only solutions. The woman works so hard and is so busy but she will never show you how much she has on her plate. She will be your rock and everything you need her to be. It's so sad the wedding is over because I love spending time with her but I guess I have to share her. To this day she is still showing me her support and love for us and believe she will be one of those forever friends you always have to catch up here and there with... book her you won't ever regret it. she just ooze with passion and love for what she does.
You cannot pass up the opportunity to work with Megan! She has put together some fabulous events at our event venue and I cannot recommend her enough. Her dedication to creating fluent, beautiful, and fun events constantly shines through her work!
Megan is worth her weight in gold. My husband and I found her through another vendor referral and it's been an absolute blessing. We knew we wanted (NEEDED) a Day of Coordinator for our 115 person wedding, and she was starting her business in the OC/LA area. We cannot sing her praises enough...She is extremely organized, professional, genuine, very positive, attuned to details (her timeline is defined to the minute!), and very experienced at what she does. She demonstrated initiative to survey the venue, reach out to my other vendors, and think through all of the nuances that often times get overlooked. During the event, she was an invisible WORKHORSE to execute the setup of our signage, vendor and reception tables, candy station, and their cleanup, as well as looking after my husband and I to make sure we had enough to eat or to offer updates. Megan even helped me pull off a surprise hula for my husband! She also helped transport items, coordinate last minute rentals, and was very good about checking in to make sure that I was doing okay during the planning process as well as the day of. Megan ran a tight ship and the entire day/evening ran so smoothly. No question: my wedding party, family, and my husband and I unanimously agree that the success of our wedding is because of Megan. I now not only have found my go-to event planner, but a great friend. I have zero hesitation to recommend Megan for other weddings/events!
