Working with Julie was truly positive from the start. On my first conversation with her I knew immediately she was the one…LOL She was very knowledgeable about everything from st...
art to finish. She gave us plenty of plan options for that day that fit exactly what we’re looking for. I’m so thankful I listened to her recommendations because she was right about our views being EPIC! (My new favorite word) Anytime I reached out with any questions or concerns she responded quickly and literally had all the answers or a piece of advice to give if that was what I needed.
On our day it would be the first time we met, I instantly felt like we had known each other for years. She was on time and got right to work taking detail pictures of my dress and special items we had for our day. After that we got in our cars and started the day of hiking! Julie was very prepared with walkie talkies incase cell service was bad and she knew the route and were the last chance bathroom breaks were. On our hikes she encouraged us to go at our speed, I never felt rushed. She knew all the best places to take photos. I’m so thankful that she was the one to marry us, she did a great job and it was a perfect ceremony, we all (including Julie) laughed and cried with excitement. My husband hates getting his picture taken (like many men) I warned Julie of this fact and she made everything fun and seamless I don’t even think he realizes he got his pictures taken. LOL (and they all turned out beyond amazing, I’d say they are EPIC). Lastly Julie advised of the time frame of when we would be receiving our pictures and was again on time.
The pictures are EPIC, Julie has a style that I was drawn to immediately (and why I initially booked with her), it is unique and my pictures tell a story, in the most beautifully artistic way. I will treasure them forever. When I share pictures with family and friends they are blown away and it feels so great to get that type of response from those I’m closest too.
In short, we LOVE Julie, she is amazing in her craft and as a person, I’m so glad our paths crossed and we have thankfully booked her for our One Year Anniversary next year.
We are so glad we found Julie after frantically searching online for a local wedding photographer within a couple months of our special day. Her reviews were great, her online port...
folio looked amazing, and her artistic style was exactly what we were looking for. The universe must’ve been perfectly aligned for her to be able to squeeze us in to her super booked schedule. Prior to the “big day” Julie kept in contact with us and helped us brainstorm ideas to best utilize her time and talent.
As for her professionalism, Julie is top notch! She was always on time yet patient with us and our hectic schedule. She just seemed to go with the flow of things, and reassured us that things happen the way they are supposed to. She even prepared in advance for our adventure shoot and had essential oils on hand to ease motion sickness. What a life saver that ended up being!
Julie’s photos came out beautifully and she truly captured the emotion in the moment. It was exactly what we wanted and we are forever grateful to her. Besides her skills, her awesome attitude and cool vibe is what will continue to progress her success. Glad to be a part of it. She far exceeded our expectations and we would definitely hire her again.
As soon as we began speaking with Julie, we knew that we had stumbled upon someone really special. Julie went above and beyond for us (rescheduled when it rained on the day we had ...
originally planned to take pictures, met us for a drink so we could get to know her before the actual picture-taking day). As someone who is never super comfortable in front of the camera, Julie made the experience not only {{not awkward}}, but incredibly fun. We couldn't be happier with our engagement pictures and the quick turn-around. Julie is talented, empathic, a great listener, funny, and creative. I can't recommend her highly enough and definitely hope this isn't our last time working with her.
I loved my experience with Julie from Magnolia + Ember (when I used her, she still went by Jewels Photography). Julie really wanted to get to know my husband and myself and our st...
ory, and she was always willing to listen to my concerns, meet with me, etc. She really put me at ease during the whole experience, and I am fairly introverted, so being photographed and the center of attention is unnerving to me. She traveled all the way to Asheville, NC for a sunrise engagement photo shoot in the middle of nowhere, and then she was so amazing on our wedding day. Julie was willing to listen to all of our ideas and try them, plus she had great ideas of her own. And, most importantly, the pictures from the engagement and the wedding day were amazing! We got sooo many compliments from friends and family on the pictures and how she really captured our personalities. I feel very lucky to have found Julie. She was the perfect photographer for us.

she does and that absolutely translates to her work and how she treats her clients. We hired her to do our engagement and wedding photography and she did an amazing job capturing who we are as a couple. Our engagement session at our farm turned out beautiful! And our wedding pictures turned out even more breathtaking. She orchestrated all of our first looks and captured every single magical moment during our special day. I cannot say enough amazing things about Julie and her assistant Josh. I would recommend them to ANYONE and would hire them again in a second! Thank you, thank you, thank you Julie!!!

have stopped us from using her after just viewing her work online and at the show. I am so super picky and my photographer was the biggest, most difficult decision I had to make. I can say that Julie was the best choice I ever made for my special day. I did multiple shoots with Julie and all were so very fun. Julie is so professional, comforting (sometimes photo sessions can get weird), honest and absolutely the best of the best!!! Our engagement photos were AMAZING and we even had her make our save the dates which BTW were so different and elegant! A lot of girls dream of those gorgeous boudoir photos which I have to say were tastefully done! As for our wedding day the results are Breathtaking!!!! Julie was always early and so friendly! Thank you so much Julie for all of your talent and time!

t session included in the wedding package was a great way to get comfortable with the photographer and being in front of the camera before the wedding. We really liked the sneak peeks posted on Facebook and photos and story posted in her blog-it was nice to be able to share those with our family and friends while we were waiting for the full online gallery to become available. Lots of great pictures from both the engagement session and wedding!
