did not meet those expectations. My wedding was at the Swan House, so I knew I needed to go with a company that was familiar with the venue.
I want to first acknowledge that my planner was responsive to emails/calls/texts, punctual on the wedding day, and maintained great communication with vendors. However, it did bother me that instead of a dedicated planning platform or structured tools, I was provided with a basic Google Sheet. For a company positioning itself as a luxury planner, this felt underwhelming and inconsistent with their branding and contributed to me feeling overwhelmed at various points.
The planner was hired as a partial planner to oversee stationery, catering, and design/rentals. In those areas, she connected us with excellent catering and design/rental companies and handled meetings and emails effectively. However, once I chose to work with a different stationery vendor, the level of support seemed to decline, and communication became very contract-focused. During a time when I expressed feeling overwhelmed, I felt limited strictly to what was outlined in the contract.
On the wedding day, several coordination issues occurred:
1. My grandmother never received her wristlet, and my father never received his boutonnière. While these are small details, they matter. When I followed up with the head planner, only one wristlet was offered for reimbursement.
2. Seating assignments for immediate family and the bridal party were incorrect and were explained as being “clearly marked and placed as such.” That really affected me on the wedding day.
3. My bouquet was misplaced just before the ceremony, delaying my entrance.
4. The person assigned to stay with me was difficult to locate and did not appear fully aware of her role.
5. The bridal party received minimal direction throughout the day.
6. There was no emergency kit available (band-aids, bobby pins, snacks).
7. Multiple bridal party members observed the coordination team sitting downstairs rather than actively assisting.
8. We were encouraged to add additional espresso martinis, which we paid for, but they were not clearly communicated or placed and had to be inquired about to ensure they were served.
After raising these concerns, the response focused primarily on contract language and the distinction between partial versus full planning, rather than acknowledging the overall experience. While I understand contractual limitations, I still expected a baseline level of organization, guidance, and support.
Overall, while there were some positive aspects, this experience did not align with the level of service or attention implied by their branding. I also recognize that I did not fully anticipate how contractually based the partial planning services would be, and I believe future couples should be aware that support is limited strictly to what is explicitly assigned.
