We are so extremely happy we chose Magnolia to have our reception! They were wonderful to work with from start to finish and were there for me at every question or concern I had. Erica truly went above and beyond to make our day so special and I will be forever grateful to her and the staff for the most perfect day. Planning a wedding during a pandemic is already stressful but Erica made me feel so much less stressed and I felt like she truly cared about making our special day work. We had our rehearsal dinner venue back out due to being closed until 2021 because of covid and within a day and one email to Magnolia we were able to have it there with the same menu and everything. I cant stress enough how amazing this venue was. It is beautiful and in such an amazing spot downtown. Our guests had nothing but good things to say about their stay and the things to do around the hotel! Such a fun spot to have a wedding!
We picked Magnolia because most of our guests were traveling, we loved the feel of the event space, and other reviewers had mentioned that the food was good. Chance was responsive and answered all of our questions and helped take care of so many little details, like arranging special meals for some of our guests. The hotel room block was so easy, I hardly even thought about it. Guests loved the rooms and the location.
On the day of the wedding, Isaac, helped everything run so smoothly that all I had to worry about was making sure I ate and danced. The food was a top priority for us and it was SO good. I was afraid we wouldn't get the chance to enjoy the hors d'oeuvres but they set some aside for us which was both unexpected and thoughtful. Incredible service throughout the whole process.
I was the Day Of Coordinator for a wedding that was done at The Pegasus Ballroom tonight. I must say that my experience with Chris (Catering Sales Manager) was AMAZING. He was helpful, accommodating and just overall professional and he truly loves his job and it shows. He made sure at all times there was someone available for any help I may have needed or questions I may have had. My Banquet Captain, Isaac was ON IT. Every thing went flawlessly, he kept his staff on schedule and organized. Lastly, the food was IMPECCABLE. Want a beautiful venue, And great food!!! Check out The Magnolia Hotel!!! Thanks Chris and Issac!!!
We picked Magnolia as our host hotel for our wedding back in November of 2017. Needless to say, we developed a close relationship with Shea and team since our wedding was not until 10/27/18. Shea accomadated every request we had. She was always available even when I was calling with last minute requests and changes during the last days and minutes leading up to our big day. We would like to thank you and your team for always saying yes. Beautiful hotel, amazing staff and amazing attention to detail.
P.S. Shea- thank you for keeping me grounded and not allowing me to freak out. Anyone that has planned a large event will appreciate the calmness that one can bring you when you are freaking out. Lol.
5 gold stars!

I had my ceremony at the Woolworth but reserved rooms at the Magnolia for my guests. Shea coordinated rooms for me and when we ran out of rooms she was all over it! She has tons of patience. My family from out of town had a wonderful stay and everything was perfect. I loved the champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in our suite. It is the little details that made it special.
We recently had our wedding at the Pegasus Room owned by the Magnolia Hotel. We also set up our room block at the Magnolia and used the hotel's shuttle service on our wedding day. The Pegasus Room was gorgeous. Everyone was very helpful when setting up, although, sometimes it was a hassle to get the doors unlocked on the weekend to set up/clean up. All of our guests were very pleased with our room block and the rooms in general. The hotel even gave my husband and I a complimentary suite the night of our wedding with champagne and strawberries when we got there. There was a slight miscommunication about payment since we were paying in cash, and our card was billed twice. It took several days for the money to be back in our account, but eventually it was all worked out. A couple of guests complained about the valet service charging them for more cars than they had, but that was all resolved with a conversation as well. All and all, the hotel was gorgeous, the staff was very friendly and helpful and I would do it all over again!
Beautiful venue, gorgeous ballroom...Chris was absolutely amazing. He made our special day even more special. He was there for any question or concern we ever had.
I had several guests call and tell me the hotel block was either sold out or almost sold out. Every time I asked my contact to verify blocked rooms they informed me it was not. It was a huge hassle to deal with and I would not recommend booking with them if you have another option.
When I first saw Magnolia Hotel and the outdoor space they offered, I loved it. It was so different and nontraditional and worked within our budget. Chris Bertrand is the event coordinator for Magnolia Hotel. When we first met him, he was great. Answered all of our questions and painted a beautiful picture of how the outdoor space could be used (this was the first outdoor wedding they'd done in the courtyard). We decided to book Magnolia and ran into a few bumps and miscommunications during the contract process. Once everything was finalized came the hard part. Questions to Chris would go unanswered or would take way longer (over a week) to get a response. I did not feel very taken care of during the planning process. We had to reach out to him to find out what the next steps were in the process instead of him reaching out to us to schedule tastings, walk thrus and rehearsals. I did not feel confident in leaving the biggest day of our lives in his care and therefore hired a planner/coordinator to take care of that for us. We changed our menu and headcount a couple times, to which Chris was quick revise and get back to us so that was good. We had a few requests that we were assured would be available the day of the wedding but were not there when we arrived. They were provided at some point that evening but this was handled by our planner so I was not involved in that process. We were assured that "red coats" would be there to assist guests and help make sure there were no uninvited wanderers at our wedding but I didn't see any "red coats". Perhaps they were there, just not wearing red coats, who knows. One of the bartenders was very rude to one of our guests, which was again handled by our planner. We did have chocolate covered strawberries, champagne, cake and our gifts in our room when we arrived which was a nice touch. Overall, our day ended up being flawless but it was a highly stressful process. Beautiful venue, but unless you want to do all the leg work and not feel taken care of, look elsewhere.
We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Magnolia Hotel in Dallas on 12/30/14 and had a perfect experience! From the planning stages all the way through to the clean up, the staff at the Magnolia were absolutely wonderful. Chris Bertrand, the event coordinator was very responsive and helpful and made sure we were taken care of and pleased with what we got. Once I made the decisions, I was able to relax and trust Chris (and staff) to execute beautifully! We got a ton of compliments on the food, it was excellent!! And all of this at a very reasonable price for such a perfect downtown setting....and oh the pictures!!! I would not change a thing!!
I would be EXTREMELY cautious if using this vendor. Since I signed a contract with this hotel in February - they have been through THREE event planners. If you have the time and patience to explain your ideas, and wants then this is the place for you! Personally it was exhausting and annoying for me. Also, make sure you have a wedding planner or day of coordinator in your budget because you will need it. Thank goodness I had one because the venue was a DISASTER. They give complimentary breakfast for all hotel guests, and there were pancake remnants that she was cleaning up due to lack of staff. There were 2 weddings that night, so random staff were hired who ended up leaving with a few of my belongings that I will never see again. Make sure you physically hand items you want back to a point person (ie. champagne flutes and cake or knife sets). Also, don't count on getting return phone calls or emails. I had to physically show up there numerous times for answers. The price is reasonable and the food was delicious but the service was terrible. Apparently they have a really high turnover rate so that does not speak well of their company. Lastly, if you have disabled or older guests, make sure you request a lower floor. They placed the bride on the top floor with broken elevators. I was 20 minutes late getting on the bus FOR MY CEREMONY. Yes, I panicked. They are apparently "fixing" the issue but it is a long and pricey renovation (if they do it). Many of my guests had to take the stairs which is unacceptable. Good luck with communication and I hope you have a better experience than I did!
From the moment we signed the contract everything went smoothly! The service and staff went above and beyond. Our hotel sweet was beautiful. After the reception we arrived back to the room where we had chocolate covered strawberries, Champaign and all our gifts waiting for us. My husband and I didn't have to worry about a thing. The venue itself is extremely affordable and offers a lot of perks not to mention beautiful. We highly recommend The Magnolia Hotel for any special event!
I love The Magnolia Hotel!! Jessica was fanstatic! She was always available either through email or phone calls. The food was amazing, the staff was so friendly and accommodating, and the event space was perfect! The space and the food was everything that I was hoping it would be. It was our perfect wedding!!!!
My experience was awesome! I got married not long ago and I am still in awe of how great it went! Not that everything was perfect, my ceremony was suppose to be outside in the motor court but it rained so we had to move it inside. I was very disappointed but Jessica, the staff at the Magnolia and my florist (A Man and A Woman Floral) made the back up space look so amazing that most of my guests didn't understand how it wasn't my first choice. Jessica and the staff were all very attentive all night they brought us water to keep us hydrated and packed some of each kind of cake and took it to our room to have along with our wine( I hate Champaign) and strawberries that they also had sent up! I have nothing but GREAT things to say about the magnolia and plan to stay there on our future anniversaries.
We had our reception in the Pegasus Ballroom in the DP&L building which is owned by the Magnolia Hotel and we could not have been happier with our experience! Right from the beginning we felt comfortable with Jessica, the hotel coordinator. She is very personable and extremely willing to work within your budget. She was pretty much our wedding planner. :) On top of that, the ballroom is gorgeous in its self that we didn't need to spend much on decorations to make it look like the wedding of our dreams. All food and drinks are provided in the cost which helps tremendously and the food was delicious!
I would recommend this venue to anyone!!Sarah & Pat
My whole wedding party stayed at the Magnolia the whole weekend of the wedding. The hotel did a wonderful job of making sure we had everything we needed. Jessica Smith does a great job of coordinating the big day. I didn't have to worry about anything. The food that they catered was delicious and everybody loved it. The service at the reception was the best I have ever seen at a wedding. They make getting married easy and non-stressful.
Jessica, the coordinator was fabulous. She helped me with every aspect and created a gorgeous atmosphere. The food and service was fantastic! I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else!
Our guests all stayed in the Magnolia Hotel for our wedding, and the front desk was great about everything. We had a bus come to the hotel without any problems. Everyone enjoyed the breakfast offered and the valets were very helpful.
I love the modern take on this location.
We chose this hotel for our wedding reception because of the beauty of the older building. It went perfectly with our wedding theme of a vintage spring wedding. The food was delicious, and the lighting was an amazing benefit to their ballroom. The only thing I did not like was lack of responsiveness at times to my questions and calls. However, it all came together perfectly, and the staff was great the day of the event.
Amazing Hotel overall! Jessica, the Sales Manager who handled our wedding was absolutely wonderful! We could not have asked for a more beautiful or special time! Thank you to everyone at the Magnolia Hotel!
The Lounge Room was unique and beautiful. The assistance the night of was amazing. Communication was all over email. However, there were extra charges after the wedding.
We enjoyed this hotel very much! It was great to have all our family and friends in one location! the 2nd floor bar was a perfect meeting place for breakfast and late nights!
I just read the review below, and I am not sure what Jessica Smith she actually worked with!?! We had our wedding on August 27 and it was perfect. The entire Magnolia staff treated me and all my guest like we were royalty. No kidding... They held my hand every step of the way. Jessica gave me her cell phone number to call her if I needed anything and she either answered when I called or called me right back if she couldn't get to it. Todd at the front desk was hilarious. He made me laugh at the time I checked in and even when I checked out. I was thrilled that he remember me and our conversation two days prior. One the day of my wedding while I was getting my hair done, I got a bit hungry. Their resturant is closed for lunch but Jessica brought me menus of places that delivered. The ballroom was more beautiful than I could have anticipated when I walked in. The Magnolia totally out did themselves. I think what really made an impression on me was the fact the Jessica Smith and the entire Magnolia Hotel Staff was just as excited about my big day as I was. Thank you all so very much for helping my big day go so smoothly and making it a pleasant memorable moment.
I had my wedding reception at The Magnolia in the Pegasus Ballroom. The reception was beautiful and I had a wonderful time but nearly a year later I still have many cringe actually tear worthy moments. Jessica the catering manager was not the easiest person to work with, during the planning she made me feel like it was her way or the highway. Then the day of the wedding she was a NO SHOW! They did not have an employee there to run the night, the wait staff and DJ had to take cues from ME all night, the timeline was the last thing I wanted to worry about. The food was wonderful but they ran out very early and our guest list was not over. The silver cake stand was delivered and the wait staff just tossed into the kitchen and it was never used. Also after the cake was cut slices were not set out for the guests to take and the remainder of the cake was taken into the kitchen never to been seen again or enjoyed by a number of my guests. In the end I was compensated for all the mistakes made by the staff but there was nothing that can be done to compensate for bad memories. The room was beautiful and the food was delicious I would recommend for future brides unless they put you in touch with Jessica, in that case, RUN THE OTHER WAY!!!
The Pegasus Ballroom is a great venue for anyone who wants a wedding in an urban environment!
It's classic architecture is iconic of Dallas and the service was amazing.
We had lots of options for food, lighting and price. We got great compliments about the food and service from our guests!
Jessica Smith is wonderful to work with, she made our wedding experience as stressfree as possible!
Definately a great place for a wedding reception!!!
We had our reception in The Club (second floor, bar area), and it was perfect! The atmosphere and staff were great; the food was EXCELLENT; and the decor was beautiful. Jessica took care of everything at the hotel, and her work with our coordinator and vendors was seamless. She was extremely flexible and helped us through the process. The rooms are very nice and comfortable, and the suites were great. The valet is the only negative part of the whole thing. It took us 45 minutes to get our car the next morning. Others were waiting for about an hour and a half.
My husband and I had our wedding here at the Magnolia Club which is on the 2nd floor of the hotel.
Jessica the Catering manager was wonderful! She was so helpful and made me feel relaxed....the day of the wedding there was some confustion on what time the bar was to open....I thought we agreed on 7:30....and the ceremony wasn't even over till 7:20 so I"m not sure why they opened it at 7 (which in turn ended before I had planned)....but that was the only issue we had but they reopened the bar and the night was wonderful! Beautiful decor, wonderful hotel, and I was always able to get in contact with Jessica from the start to finish. The food was great and everyone thought it was the perfect venue. Modern Elegance. Thank you Magnolia!
Very accomodating for family, caters to families but in a fantastic downtown Dallas location. Reasonably priced if you book in advance.
I stayed at the Magnolia for the first time in 2000 when I came to Dallas for a job interview. At the time it must have been newly remodeled. I remember loving the room! That's why I decided to stay the night before and the night of our wedding.
When I visited, I loved the 2nd floor mezzanine with cookies & milk service in the evening. It's a wonderful place to chill, hang out, have a drink and cookies at the end of a long day. We wanted to do that after our wedding reception. Unfortunately two wedding receptions were booked in that location so we missed out on that! The staff was nice enough to set up chairs for us in the lobby...which may have had something to do with the fact that I was still in my gown. Still, it wasn't the 2nd floor.
Overall the rooms were small and more worn than I remember on my first visit. Definitely not enough room to have several bridesmaids getting ready.
The morning of my wedding I got locked out of the room for over 20 minutes because of an issue with my key. Thankfully a bridesmaid was staying there as well so I could go to her room. The staff was very helpful, again, I just wish it hadn't happened.
In the end, I feel like we had a nice experience that we ended up paying too much for. I'm still a big fan of The Magnolia, but I will either adjust my expectations next time or book through a different online source to avoid all the added taxes and fees that show up when you get your final bill.
It was a historic building, and it was beautiful. The windows were floor length and the ceiling was painted. The flowers and decorations were gorgeous as well.;The stairs did not allow guests with disabilities easy access to the venue. (There was not an elevator for my old grandmother.)
The Magnolia provided a lovely space with separate rooms for dining, cake cutting, buffet table, etc. It also had a nice lounge like atmosphere outside the main rooms, which was great for pre-dinner cocktails. I also liked that we had the whole floor to ourselves, meaning less attraction for unwanted guests.;The dance floor provided by the hotel is very small!
