Amanda Roberts has a background in fine art, graphic design and marketing, having earned her bachelor's at The Art Institute of Philadelphia. After a couple of years of photographing her friends and family, she obtained a degree in photography from The Art Institute. Now she works as a freelance commercial and private photographer in the great state of Texas, and travels all around the United States. She has been a wedding photographer for 17 years running! Amanda has had the pleasure of photographing some amazing artists, such as Rob Thomas, David Cook, The Counting Crows, Evanescence w/ Amy Lee, Chris Isaak, The Script, Selena Gomez, REO Speedwagon, Def Leppard, Styx, Dashboard Confessional, Keifer Sutherland, The Bangles, Ian Sommerholder and Paul Wesley, along with other cast from The Vampire Diaries, John Mellencamp, Tori Amos, Boston, Nina Gordan and Tiffany Lee of Plumb. Some of her favorite moments lie in the vulnerability of music. Throughout her career Amanda has made Continuing Education a huge importance. She has studied under Anna Brandt, Jen Rosenbaum, Denise Birdsong, Jerry Ghionis, Anne Geddes and has been fortunate enough to engage in a symposium with Annie Leibovitz, where she was told to never, ever stop working, by Annie herself. I found Amanda through the Dallas Girl Gang Facebook group after asking for recommendations for wedding photographers for our socially-distanced micro wedding. (Thank you, COVID!) Initially, my then-fiance and I wanted to do a destination wedding in Las Vegas but decided it wasn't worth the risk of having our family and friends make that trip during a pandemic. At the last minute - and I mean LAST possible minute - we decided to rent a beautiful Airbnb on the San Marcos River to do an intimate, outdoor wedding ceremony with only our closest family and a few friends. We were dead set on keeping our date (10/10/2020), so I was in a bit of a panic to find a wedding photographer just 80 days before the wedding. Amanda was very sweet and responsive. She offered us an incredible deal and drew up the contract immediately. We were able to sign and put down our deposit the very same day, which took a huge weight off of my shoulders. On the day of our wedding, Amanda showed up right on time, and she captured the ceremony and reception beautifully. She was super friendly and easy to work with. We received all of our photos within a month. I honestly did not expect to have our pictures back so soon, so it was a very nice surprise for both of us. I highly recommend Amanda, and she will be my first call for photography services in the future! Amanda, thank you again for everything. I hired Amanda for my wedding and a boudoir session. She made me feel so at ease, and once she started posing me I truly knew I’d made the right decision. Posing and walking me through what to do was effortless for her. I knew Amanda had had surgery a few weeks before my wedding and I was really nervous about her being able to stand and work. But she showed up with an assistant and a second photographer, which wasn’t in my package. I could see she struggled a bit at times, but her helpers stepped right in. I had my wedding edits back in just a couple weeks. I honestly couldn’t tell there was any “less” in light of Amanda’s condition at the time. I was blown away. This girl is a pro. Book her now before she realizes how underpriced she is. I am forever grateful to share these beautiful images with my love.

All I have to say is wow! I actually found Amanda through my aunt who is neighbors with this amazing woman! My husband and I didn’t really know what to expect and had shopped around a lot of photographers and were so nervous about who to choose and let me just say...we made the right choice! She came loaded with lights many different people to help shoot and assist, to say that I felt like a celebrity at the met gala is an understatement. Her edits of the pictures make them look like they’re out of a magazine or something out of a fairy tale! They’re simply perfect. 10/10 would recommend for any photographer needs.

Words simply cannot capture the magnificence of Beautifully Lit. From my first conversation with Amanda, I KNEW she was the perfect photographer to capture images of our wedding. How do I love this photographer? Let me count the ways! The obvious: She worked with my budget and is prompt with communication. (She custom built a seriously fabulous package that included a pre-wedding shoot as well as a post-wedding shoot!!) The amazing: she captured the beautiful and intimate moments without me even noticing she was there! There was no stress to pose or perform, she simply captured the natural beauty of the event… which is EXACTLY what I hoped for! The above and beyond: Amanda’s vibe is what every bride NEEDS on her wedding day. She is confident, cool under pressure (even when she accidentally catches fire from one of the votive candles in the décor), communicates super well, and is always smiling. PLUS – she sent me a link to the initial proofs within a few hours after the wedding AND posted a GORGEOUS photo blog within less than 24 hours of the wedding. I simply cannot praise or say enough wonderful things about Amanda and her studio. Beautifully Lit has won my heart and my business – they have become my official family photographer!
