I got it from Canada and the bridal shop warned me that I needed someone who knew how to work with the lace and intricate details because it was so unique and hard to work with. I poured through wedding alteration websites looking for altered dresses that looked like mine and could find no one in Los Angeles or Orange County. Finally, I stumbled upon Mahtab and saw that previous reviewers had expressed similar situations and that Mahtab was the right person for the challenge. And they were one hundred percent correct! From the moment I met Mahtab I could tell she was a true professional and put all of my worries at ease. She had me put on the dress and immediately saw what needed to be altered. I needed the shoulders tightened as well as the waist and needed a bustle. She was so efficient and quick. When I came back for the second fitting she had fixed the shoulders which had been super hard because of the delicate see-through fabrics and had started work on the bustle. She made sure I knew how she was altering the dress to make the bustle work. She had to move flowers around to hide the button and clasps but she did it so artfully and it still looked beautiful. She guided my future mother-in-law on how to bustle it and made sure I was happy with the finished looked. The bustle was gorgeous and she really made the whole thing look effortless! She even suggested I get the sticky bra to put underneath the dress when I mentioned I wanted to add a little more cleavage to the dress. Altering the dress was one of the biggest stresses for me and Mahtab truly took all of the stress away from our very first meeting. The finished product was stunning and fit me like a glove! My dress was mermaid style so it needed to fit perfectly and she nailed it. It was tight where it needed to be and she was also so conscious not to make the shoulders too tight so I could still raise my arms. Mahtab made me feel so confident because the dress fit so well and I knew I would not have any dress slips! I loved working with her and any bride would be so lucky to have Mahtab alter the dress of their dreams!

extra length expecting to need it hemmed a little bit (I'm 5'10) but Mahtab assured me the dress fit perfect and only needed a simple bustle. I went to her house expecting the experience to be weird, but Mahtab made me right at home and was very quick to asses my dress, but not in a rushing kind of way. Her prices are WAY more affordable than Alfred Angelo's were. She even went through the whole bustling process a couple of times so my sister (MOH) could record it on her phone. I dropped the dress off on Tuesday and picked it up the following Tuesday. She doesn't take credit cards so make sure you can pay with cash or check. I felt like a princess in my dress. She took the dress in to make it look just like the original and exactly what I wanted, and it fit like a glove. She also recreated the bustle. And at the best price I could find, almost half that of what another seamstress near my house was offering. I received so many compliments on my dress at my wedding, and I thank Mahtab for all her help. She ONLY alters wedding gowns (so no bridesmaids or mother-of-brides), btw.
