Main Street Station is a stunning vintage wedding venue, an operating Amtrak Station, and a historic landmark in Richmond, VA. It was built in 1901 and survived several natural disasters before being fully restored in 2003. Get on board with the Main Street Station for lasting memories on your special day.
Main Street Station is a beautiful and exclusive wedding venue right in the heart of Richmond. It's characterized by the famous clock tower that presides over the city. This venue has a charming mix of history and modern elegance, making it ideal for elegant and intimate weddings. Main Street Station has two wedding venue spaces, the Headhouse and the Shed. The Headhouse is a classic French Rennassaince-style venue that can accommodate 200 or more guests and features shining marble flooring, high ceilings, and tall windows overlooking the bustling streets. The other venue, the Shed, has a modern style with tall glass, steel enclosing, and ample space. It sits high above, so you can watch the city move throughout the evening. The Shed can accommodate upwards of 3,000 guests and can be split into smaller spaces for more intimate, smaller weddings. The venue also offers various options for cocktail hour, an outdoor plaza, a green room, a commercial kitchen, and much more.
The venue space rental at Main Street Station includes set-up and break-down time, so you don't need to lift a finger. Each wedding day package includes a scheduled rehearsal time, janitorial staff on duty during your event, security, a limited number of tables, and all in-house furniture per your request. Main Street Station handles everything and offers on-site venue management during the wedding.

Growing up I always knew I wanted to get married at Main Street Station! When we walked in, we immediately fell in love! The Headhouse architecture is STUNNING and simply speaks for itself! Crystal, the venue manager, helped to answer our many questions and was extremely flexible and accommodative through the whole wedding process! Thanks so much to Main Street for hosting the best day of our lives!

Beautiful venue and incredibly helpful staff. They were supper accommodating of our pickup/dropoff schedule. They worked with us on a layout. The space looked incredible. We used the first floor shed, so it was smaller, more industrial. The caterer had plenty of space, the bathrooms are perfectly located. Everything was perfect.

I cannot rave about this venue enough. Main Street Station was a complete dream venue for our December wedding. Our coordinator provided by Main Street, Susan Kennedy, was absolutely the best. She was professional and prompt, but always made us feel special. Every hiccup before and during the wedding, she handled with ease. Susan was patient and kind, giving us many tours throughout the process. She is extremely knowledgable about the history of Main Street and remains proud of its publicity. I would recommend this venue to any couple seeking a spectacular and chic wedding.

We hosted both our ceremony and reception at Main Street Station in the Fall of 2017. The venue itself is gorgeous and has several different spaces, and it makes a nice backdrop for many styles of wedding. There's lots of glass and natural light, making the venue excellent for photos and a classic part of Richmond. We experienced some "growing pains" because of recent renovations, but our wait was worth it in the end. We worked with an extremely responsive staff who made everything right in the end and helped us through some of the extra requirements of working with the City of Richmond. The working train station is a public place, but the staff helped keep our wedding private. The venue was perfect for our wedding, and we recommend it without reservation.

The train station provided a vintage back drop for our reception. Family and friends were delighted with the ambiance and sophistication provided by this venues history. The space had plenty of small areas for conversations but did not compromise the large dance floor. We would rent here again.

We had our reception here and it was everything we wanted! It did get kinda hot in the main area but people made their way around to different rooms to cool off. We had a double rainbow that we were able to get pictures of on the balcony! Definitely look into white house catering just right next door!

I absolutely loved my wedding at Main Street! The decor inside is so beautiful you almost don't need to decorate all that much. We had 130 guests for a sit down dinner and it was the perfect size for that amount. I wish we would have paid for the extra hour because we were having such a great time. The historical charm is wonderful and makes for some great pictures. You can use any vendors you like which is nice. For the money, I think this is a superior value for the Richmond area.

I love the history that is here in Richmond and one of the most historic and well known building is the Main Street Train Station. My now husband and I only went to one possible wedding location (MSS) and fell in love. We didn't want a huge wedding so it worked out perfect even though I know a lot of people said that it was too small (we had 150 people and could have easily had some more). My only complaint is that since it is a working station, the lights don't dim as much as you would like while everyone is dancing. So much as price, we looked around before visiting and this was one of the most affordable locations in downtown and if you are like us, we enjoyed being able to pick our vendors rather than deal with the ones designated by the venue. Other than that, we had numerous compliments on our venue and how everything was beautiful.

The Main Street Station is a beautiful space! You have access to the entire building: the downstairs lobby, the landing on the stairs, the main hall, the loggia, two sitting rooms, and the terminal, and each space is lovely. We had our cocktail hour on the bottom floor, and then moved the party upstairs for dancing - the bar fit perfectly in the terminal. They're easy to work with, and they make sure to coordinate with you and your caterer 60 days before the event, to make sure everyone's on the same page. It was the perfect venue for our wedding, the photos are lovely, it was plenty of space, and it had that elegant feel we were going for. I would definitely recommend the Main Street Station.

Main Street Station was the best place for our reception in November 2010. It was spacious, there was a ton of room for all of our guests, and they even took out all the station furniture for us for no charge. Our security deposit was returned to us within 2 weeks of the reception. I would recommend this place to anyone!
