Working with Maineline Studios was fine up until the day of the wedding and the weeks that followed. Jermaine ended up not being able to work our wedding and brought in another videographer, Mario. We started the day with him doing our first look and private vows. I was unsure about having our vows recorded but Mario assured me it’s better to have them than not and we didn’t have to use it if we didn’t want (This is an important detail for later). The rest of the wedding went on as planned. While Mario was nice to us throughout the day, we found out the next day that he was quite rude to our photographer and officiant. This was the first offense that just continued in a downward spiral. Jermaine reached out via email a few days after the wedding apologizing for not being able to attend for health reasons and also to notify us that because of his health, our video may arrive later than the projected finish date. We didn’t respond because we were on our honeymoon. Flash forward about 3 weeks, I’m scrolling on Instagram and see he’s posted our teaser video WITH OUR PRIVATE VOWS. I was mortified because a) the video had been up for 2 days and we were not told it was done at all & b) our private vows were being broadcasted on this video for all to hear. As clients, I would expect to see our video before the general public. I immediately emailed Jermaine to ask him to take it down and let him know how upset I was that we weren’t told this video was even finished. I also asked that we be notified when he was done with the video. His response was less than professional as he said “I tried to email Brandi a few days ago and for some reason that email came up red indicating that it wasn't there anymore. So, I tried to reach her through email and on IG but I guess I might have had her IG name wrong because I could not find her there either. So, yes my plan was to send it out to you guys first.” He follows me on Instagram and has our email from previous conversations so his reasoning is frankly unacceptable. Especially since he just went ahead and posted the video anyways. I was appalled, but he did take down the video as requested. Then, he proceeds to redo the video without the vows (which was appreciated) and repost it without sending it to us AGAIN. I saw this and had to email him yet again to get the video he posted hours ago. Then I ask for the raw files. He sends a Dropbox and requests that I notify him when I am done uploading so he can then delete the Dropbox. I am literally in the middle of downloading and haven’t notified him, yet the files were deleted. I immediately email him asking to put them back up as I was not finished. He claims they were switching platforms, but then proceeds to resend them via the same Dropbox link. Communication was downright abysmal and not worth the headache. I’m happy to have the videos of my wedding now but the experience was enough to make me never want to work with him again and spare future brides from the same issues.
