We contacted this vendor and sent deposit via mail. When we didn't hear back for 1 and half month and as our wedding was approaching near, we went ahead with another vendor. After ...1 and half month he called and informed that he has the check. when we informed that we have already booked another vendor, he said we are liable since he was saving the date for us. However, it was clearly written on the contract that until he gets the deposit he will not save the date. There was no communication for one and half month. He however took the deposit... stay away!!!!!
