Nemar is seriously the BEST DJ in Cincinnati!! Choosing the right DJ was super important to us and we made the right decision choosing Maize Music! Nemar is such a pro and truly listens to what your music vision is. He kept the party going and catered to all age groups by playing all the right songs! Nemar knows what he is doing and he is simply the BEST! My dad and I wanted to do a surprise dance and Nemar was so patient as we changed it a ton of times and he pulled off the surprise flawlessly! We even had a timeline error (my fault) and he worked through it perfectly without a hitch and even coordinated with our other vendors to get it fixed. The sign of a true professional!!! We planned our wedding from Los Angeles in Cincinnati and Nemar was super easy to work with. He was responsive in receiving all my very-specific playlists and he was even able to find some songs that we had requested to add to his library. Our vision for our cocktail hour included projecting a black and white movie onto one of the walls. Nemar made it happen! We got the DVD of the movie and when we got to cocktail hour we were so excited to see the movie on the wall -- it looked better than we even imagined! A little touch of Hollywood at our wedding. Most importantly, Nemar kept our dance floor full and happy -- he mixed in the perfect balance of fan-favorites and songs from our "must-play" lists, all of our guests thought the music was great and we could have kept dancing all night!

Working with Nemar was one of the best decisions of our wedding process! He was so much fun, so professional, and catered to our crowd PERFECTLY! When I say that the dance floor was NEVER empty...I mean the dance floor was NEVER EVER empty!! WE HAD SUCH A BLAST! Nemar was professional, had the perfect mix for our guests between old/new music, and I keep on receiving feedback from my guests on how much they loved the DJ. Nemar was a little hard to get a hold of at times months before the wedding, but overall they were great to work with! The DJ, Lloyd, that Nemar chose for us was awesome. He played all of the songs we put on our request list, was a perfect MC for the night, and knew how to keep everyone dancing. He was one of the many reasons why our wedding was so great! Lloyd also played music for our reception. Our musicians had technical difficulties with the sound system right before the ceremony started, so Lloyd stepped right in and made it seem like nothing had gone wrong at all!

Hands down the best DJ in Cincinnati!! I am so obsessed with Nemar!! He DJ'ed my sister's wedding years ago and did such and amazing job that I had to book him for my wedding!! I actually chose my wedding date around his availability!! He keeps everyone dancing; the dance floor was never empty!! Maize Music was incredible! Nemar was so easy to work with and he made our reception so fun!! Our reception went until 1am and he kept the dancefloor full the entire evening. Our reception was at the Contemporary Arts Center so our dancefloor was in their black box room. It almost felt like a European Night Club, it was amazing and exactly what we had hoped for!!!

Nemar did our wedding ceremony and reception. He showed up 10 minutes before the ceremony and forgot that he was supposed to be doing the ceremony music. He played the music walking down the isle but after the ceremony there was no music played. During the reception, Nemar kept disappearing and people had to look for him to move the reception along. He only played 3-4 songs on our must play list and was not friendly to my guest when they requested songs. At the end of the wedding, he packed up and left without saying good bye.

Mark Moore of Maize Music was our wedding DJ and he did an amazing job. He met with us the week of the wedding and played everything we wanted him to and nothing we didn't. He kept people out on the dance floor and everyone had a blast. We hated the idea of having a cliché DJ, but Mark couldn't have been farther from that. He mixed songs and took requests from our guests, keeping everyone happy. He also played great cocktail and dinner music, staying true to our whole theme. My only complaint was that it was at times difficult to get in contact with Maize Music's owner, Nemar, which was very stressful. I could not even get in contact with him to pay our balance before the wedding. With that being said, having Mark as our DJ made it worth it.

Mark Moore of Maize Music is a fantastic DJ. Months later after our wedding we still have friends commenting that he was the best wedding DJ they’ve ever experienced. Mark knew how to keep people on the dance floor all night and would mix songs in getting people excited for the next one. The dance floor was packed the whole time during our reception. It was unbelievable. Cocktail and dinner music were exactly what we wanted for our formal venue. Our only complaint was that it was at times difficult to get in contact with Maize Music, which was stressful as we planned our wedding long-distance.

Nemar did such an incredible job at our wedding. He had a real feel for the atmosphere and the crowd the whole night! The music was perfect and he even recorded my son giving his speech (totally sob worthy!) and used it to mix with the music throughout the evening. Maize Music was the preferred DJ from The Madison Event Center and he came highly recommended from our consultant, Candice. Nemar was fantastic. My husband and I were worried that his style wasn't really going to fit with ours. He seemed like much more of a party DJ and we knew that was not our crowd. But he assured us that he could read the crowds and really get people up and dancing. I admit, we left there a little unsure. But the price was right and his reviews were stellar, and he was willing to do the music for our ceremony too, so we went with him. Boy, were we incorrect. Not only did Maize read the crowd and get people up, there was one moment were the dance floor was full! Family members I never thought would dance were up there too. I was skeptical about using a DJ for our wedding because my parents preferred a band. But, Nemar was absolutely AMAZING! I cannot thank him enough for blowing the roof off my wedding! Everyone kept asking where we found this guy, because he did such a phenomenal job. He was dressed appropriately in a tux. He went over with me how to say everyone's names properly, picked out songs that I loved. He really spent the extra time with me to make everything perfect! Our dance floor was not empty a single second the entire night, in fact it was jammed with people saying "I haven't danced like that in years!" Thank you Nemar for making my wedding 100% perfect.

Namar, owner of Maize Music, can read a room, even if that "room" is in the middle of the woods, and everyone up on their feet, dancing... all night long! My wedding reception was the best party ever! He's the perfect MC, a truly nice person, a real music magician.

We had the pleasure of having Nemar as our DJ for our wedding. He is a very cool, nice, and hip guy which worked perfect for the type of reception music we were after. He knew how to get people on the dance floor and stay there! The price was a little steep for the service provided but we knew it was important to have people out dancing. My one grip is that it was often difficult to get ahold of him. Between emails and calls, it took a couple of days to reach him. Our venue actually wasn't able to get ahold of him until the day before our event to coordinate timing which was kind of scary. The other thing is that you take a big risk with him in that I think he is a one man shop. We were worried about the possibility of him getting sick or having an emergency which prevented him from coming the day of our event. But all in all, I would definitely recommend him to future couples!

We got married in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico June 2014. We choose Maize Music dj, Nemar Maize, to travel to Mexico and be there for our special day. Nemar was the DJ at our wedding this past summer. He met with us a couple times before the wedding and even visited our venue with us. We used a new venue that had never hosted a wedding before and Nemar gave great insight about the floor plan to the event coordinator. He provided the uplighting which made our open-air patio have some character and look very different than it usually does during the day. He took time to listen to my husband and I about our music tastes and was very patient when noting our extensive "do not play' list. True to his word, none of those songs played at our reception. He mixed songs on the spot and many of our guests were impressed that a DJ was actually being a DJ. He took time to learn the pronunciations of our wedding party, including a last minute sub. Everyone was up dancing and really knew how to read the dance floor. Overall we had a great experience and highly recommend Nemar and his team of DJs.

Nemar Maize (the owner) was professional, friendly and extremely easy to work with throughout the planning process. His online planning tools allowed the couple to take their time while choosing songs to be played at their reception. During the final meeting, Nemar and Mark (the DJ that played at the reception) met with the clients and put together a timeline for the reception that best fit the needs and wants of the couple. At the wedding reception, Mark was absolutely amazing, keeping the guests on the dance floor the entire evening. Our guests couldn't stop talking about all the fun they had at our wedding and that was in large part because of Maize Music and the great experience they provided to us and our guests. We originally chose Maize Music because it was a preferred vendor at our reception venue and also because of the great prices and we ultimately were SO impressed with the service we received. We were planning our wedding from another state, so we had our first meeting with Nemar via phone. He was great about answering all of our questions and following up with emails, etc. Plus, you do all of your payments online and there is also an online planning tool, which really just made things a breeze. Nemar matches you with a DJ based on your taste in music. We were paired with DJ Mark and couldn't have been happier! We met with Nemar and Mark the week of our wedding to go over a final plan, such as intros, special songs, do not play lists, etc. The meeting was a great opportunity for Mark to get to know us better, and he was so accommodating of all of my requests. My husband and I chose some less common songs, which Mark had no problem finding. A lot of our formal dance (father/daughter, mother/son, etc) were also really long, so Mark was able to cut them down perfectly so our guests wouldn't get bored watching the dances. We were also able to send him a live-recording of a song for our first dance and he cut that so it sounded perfect! I've been to lots of weddings where the DJ will play songs the bride and groom have requested him/her not to play or where the DJ hasn't played songs the couple really wanted to hear. We did not have this problem with Mark at all! Every song he played was excellent, and he even went back to a song he had started to transition out of when I asked him to. He also did a great job at keeping the dance floor full. Things got off to a slow start, but he figured out exactly how to get our friends up and dancing and keep them there! He was even good about making sure all of our guests - no matter their age - got up at some point to dance! Another thing that was great about Mark were some of the suggestions he gave us for introductions and getting the party started. He offered to give brief introductions of each member of our bridal party, which was a fun way for our guests to get to know our wedding party a little better...and a fun way for us to embarrass a few of them! We couldn't have been happier with Maize Music, and specifically DJ Mark!

There is no comparison to any other DJ for our wedding. Maize Music was undoubtably helpful with music choices and making sure I was happy. (I was a crazy bridezilla). You can tell that not only is it their job but their passion to make your wedding memorable. The personal touches on our wedding were amazing, between the uplighting to the monogram on the dance floor they truly accomplished my dream wedding. 5 stars aren't enough to rate, I wouldn't have choose anyone else for the job! Maize Music over-delivered at my wedding. I hired Nemar (the owner) and I would recommend him to anyone. He was so easy to work with leading up to wedding and was willing to help me with whatever I needed. I was worried about people dancing enough and Nemar kept people on the dance floor ALL NIGHT! I had so many friends and family members tell me later that they had the best time and the music was awesome. Nemar is the best!

I saw Nemar at a bridal event and decided right then that he was who I wanted to DJ my wedding. He just kept the party going. I got TONS of compliments at my reception about how good he was and everyone was amazed that he was actually mixing the music, not just playing tracks off of a computer. The only disappointment was that he had a detailed website so I could choose everything I wanted to hear (which for organization purposes was AWESOME), but the section of dance songs I absolutely wanted to hear, didn't really get played. The music was still really great, but I would have liked to hear what I chose too.

Overall, had a great time, people were dancing all night & the sound was great!! Only issues were with response time- they weren't very quick to respond to e-mails or voice messages (after booking)- we would wait about 7-10 days for a response then follow up again, then we'd usually get a response after the second follow-up. On the day of, the bridal party arrived on-site on time (a miracle!), but we were waiting for a good 20 minutes before the DJ met us to line us up- so I'm not sure of the reasoning for the hold-up, but we ended up being about 30 minutes behind on our time line & the bridal party intro. was the wrong song (very minor, but as the bride, I get excited about the small stuff after all the planning!). So overall, the 30 minutes behind is frustrating especially when the night ends so quickly, but everyone was definitely dancing all night & I thought the the speakers/sound were great and the DJ himself, when we met & talk, he was extremely friendly. So pros & con's- Overall, I had a great time, But I would have liked a quicker response during the planning process and more attention to our timeline.

Nemar was the DJ at our wedding in July 2013. He was very professional - took the time to learn all of the proper pronounciation of our wedding parties last names, dressed well, spoke clearly and precisely, and met with us a few times before the wedding to learn our taste in music. He also provided us with the lighting that really dressed up the white walls of the reception hall - made the place look classy! He was organized and keep the reception activities on time. He knows how to host a party! He catered the music choices to all ages, and keep the dance floor packed until the very end of the night - so much that noone wanted to leave (he would have stayed another hour, but the hall couldn't let us go an additional hour). I really appreciated the commitment that Nemar has to his work - I had a few friends said it was the most fun they had at a wedding in a long time! He exceeded our expectations, and obviously impressed the guests as well because they were all asking for his card after the reception. I recommend Nemar for any and all special events, especially weddings!

Some DJs can be so cheesy, you can tell Nemar is a vet and loves entertaining! I did not have to give him much guidance on what kind of music we liked, he took the time to get to know us and we trusted him. Maize Music also did our up-lighting. My colors were hard to match with the lighting, but Nemar went above and beyond to make it the exact color we wanted! Nemar was the perfect guy for our wedding. He really listened to what I asked for and went above and beyond. He played our ceremony and reception. He made the ceremony really fun with the music he choose. At the reception we told him what kind of music we like and he put it all together. He actually mixed songs into the next one. Maize Music is an incredible value for the money. Nemar, the owner, is very professional and organized and offers a fair price for their services (ours was about $950 but of that $150 was due to needing equipment at the ceremony space outdoors). I cannot tell you how relieved I was once we finished meeting with Sonny Barker, who ended up being our DJ. We are just kindred spirits I think because I am into a lot of older music, jazz, rockabilly, old fashioned rock and roll and R&B, etc. He totally got us! He was really happy with our music selections and did exactly as we hoped for the reception. The ceremony music was spot on what we asked for with no mistakes too. Sonny and his wife Kim helped to organize every event we wanted to include in the reception and even dismissed tables for us to visit the dinner buffet! Sonny really read the crowd and was also a little flexible when it came to pleasing some of the family members who had requests. I pretty much got to have my dream ceremony and reception when it came to the music, which was SO important to me. Music was always going to play a big part in our wedding and Sonny made sure it got the attention it needed. He just made it so fun! All of our relatives, young and old were up dancing as soon as the dance floor opened! Thank you Sonny and Maize Music! I am still getting compliments on how much fun people had on the dance floor that night!

One of my good friends used Maize Music for her wedding in Cincinnatti, at this point I wasn't even engaged yet but my Mom and I couldn't get over how great the DJ was so we asked who they used. When I got engaged a few months later, my mom and I crossed our fingers that Maize would be willing to drive to this little town in Indiana, Vincennes. They were! From the time that I got the call from our DJ, David, I knew we were going to have a great time. He greeted us as soon as we arrived at our reception to go over our entrance and from then on, everything was stress free. He set the bar so high for our summer of weddings I almost wish my friends had asked for my recommendation first (from refusing to eat anything our reception because he is on the job, to the amazing transitions between music, and simply to the music selection and crowd reading he did.. I didn't even have to leave the dance floor to greet my guests because most of them were out on the floor with me!) Simply put, on your wedding day, you shouldn't be stressing over anything; and with Maize, the music is just one less thing to think about.
