Makayla was a lovely addition to our wedding. Her thoughtful professionalism and attention to detail was evident in everything from her questionnaire on preferences to her timeliness to her payment reminder. Our photos came out beautiful and captured our personalities as well as the seeet and simple moments of the day. Almost as important, her calm and kind personality made us and our family and friends all very comfortable in front of the camera. If I could give her 6 stars, I would.

We hired Makayla for our engagement shoot and I can’t say enough great things! From the very beginning she was so patient and helpful walking us through the process. I was really worried about looking awkward but I’m OBSESSED with our pictures. She did an amazing job getting me out of my head and was able to capture incredible candid moments!

TL;DR: Makayla is amazingly talented and we love her. The longer version: We met Makayla when was with the team photographing my sister’s wedding a couple of weeks ago. I immediately noticed how she struck a great balance between standing back and letting candid moments unfold naturally, and engaging the wedding party when it was necessary to capture the perfect image. I’ve only seen a few sneak peeks but there are some awesome photos of my adorable but very unruly kids (4 and 6) who are notorious for ruining what would otherwise be a great picture. (I’m mostly kidding, but you know…they’re little kids and it’s hard to get them to stand still and smile). My sister was chatting with Makayla and found out she also does family sessions, and she literally ran to tell me about Makayla’s plans for an upcoming Christmas mini session featuring Gypsea Blu, a beautifully restored vintage VW bus. I’m a lifelong lover of old VWs, and I love that vintage beachy vibe, so I was thrilled when I reached out to Makayla the morning after the wedding and found out she had an open spot. I went into the situation with cautious optimism, and Makayla did not disappoint. The mini session was great. For background: I’ve been working with the same family photographer for years, often booking 3-4 mini or full-family sessions each year, but I’ve noticed that they are taking on so many clients that the mini sessions have started to feel impersonal, like an assembly line (20+ back to back sessions a day for several days - it’s pandemonium) and due to the sheer number of clients, it was starting to take several weeks to get edited photos back, which was longer than promised. I know quality work takes time, but at some point you’d think you’d want to scale back on the volume of clients in order to meet your own self-imposed deadlines. Anyway, I was becoming disheartened. Fortunately, we had a completely different experience with Makayla. She spent 30 minutes with us, which is longer than most minis I’ve booked, and she took the time to engage the kids and let them act silly. She essentially followed their lead. If they were climbing all over the back bench in the bus, she was right there to capture the perfect candid of my daughter falling into the trunk and my son sticking out his tongue in pure, completely unstaged joy. And since she let them think they were running the show, they were (mostly) cooperative when the time came to take traditional family photos. She also didn’t mind when we asked to remove a few of the more traditional Christmas props so we could display the photos in our home year-round with a more neutral theme. I won’t tell you how quick the turnaround time but I will say that my jaw dropped when I got the email that the photos were ready. It was absurdly fast. The mini session included 15 edited photos, but she added extra images which I truly appreciated because let me tell you - when I look at the whole set, there’s not a single one I could bear to eliminate. They are that good. The photos are beautifully edited. The lighting is gorgeous, my kids’ smiles look genuine, and the props and natural setting were perfect. I will absolutely recommend Makayla to friends in family in Palm Beach County. She’s warm, friendly, and approachable but also incredibly professional and talented. We are very, very happy with our photos and the experience in general. Thank you Makayla!

Makayla was amazing to work with and I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs a wedding or event photographer in the future. She was extremely creative with our poses and captured some amazing shots. She was super sweet and friendly and made my husband and I feel extremely at ease when taking pictures. We were extremely pleased to receive numerous sneak peak pictures the very next day. Makayla is super talented and I cannot recommend her enough!
