My hair and makeup ended up fine, thankfully after the worst few weeks dealing with this company leading up to the wedding. The trial for hair and make up went bad which should have been a sign to leave then and there. I reached out almost 9 months before my wedding to get a trial done for hair and makeup. Immediately upon arrival, she told me I have dry skin and wouldn’t drop it (I have bad eczema and couldn’t put my lotion on for the makeup). It immediately made me feel bad about myself. On my wedding day she also had to chip in that my skin is dry and that my eyes are different sizes?? (they are not). This lady is something else. I also paid $120 for my hair “preview” 7 months in advance just for the hair person to drop out 3 weeks before my wedding. I was at my graduation and Donna was texting me complete nonsense and demanding I call her and the hair person since they were together that day. She could have asked in advance if I was free that weekend or asked for a good time to schedule a call, but no, everything about this woman is last minute, must revolve around her, and is blatant disorganized chaos. The original person could only do my hair at 7 AM on my wedding day….no my hair would be messed up by 5 PM and why do I need to revolve my wedding day around her? Brides always do hair and makeup near the end. Donna did not offer another preview with the replacement person, so I was stressed and anxious that this person was not going to know how I wanted my hair. Luckily, it turned out fine. Honestly, weddings are stressful in general. Donna and her team where 70% of the stress. There were several other terrible experiences such as her refusing to set up hair and make-up if she must use stairs (get the hair person to help you carry the stuff?), not sending the contract for months after my mom asked a dozen times, harassing my bridal party to add her on Instagram, bragging NONSTOP about her “awards” …. the list goes on and on to the point it could be a book. Save your mental sanity and go elsewhere.

I got married in April 2024. Donna was so great to work with. I don’t like heavy makeup AT ALL and Donna’s airbrush work is very nice and light weight. My look was perfect from trial run to the day of. She is super knowledgeable and was very open and educational about the process. She is also super nice and was always available if I had a question or concern.

I just got married in February and Donna really made my dreams come true when it comes to my hair and makeup! I was so worried to would be too much or that my hair would fall out in the middle of the wedding, and I really didn’t want that worry, so Donna took care of it. My day was stress free, my hair stayed perfect even through dancing and jumping up and down, and through the wind. I felt beautiful all night long. I have pretty bad acne normally and Donna covered it even a red spot near my lip I was worried about for days before she got rid of it! I highly recommend her to anyone! Donna and her team were amazing for my wedding in February 2024. They were responsive, attentive and accommodating. The gals and I all had different skin and hair types, there were no concerns or issues by the team who professionally and beautifully navigated everyone's preference and needs. This includes my hesitant to get services mother. The team knows the industry and even suggested the idea of a first look/getting bridal party photos done before the ceremony so we could attend our cocktail hour. I never would have thought about that without an industry expert suggesting it. Appreciate the time and services from her team. Book her, you will never regret it!

I highly recommend Donna. I have one important thing to say, Trust Donna and her team!! A little about me. Donna has been doing my hair and highlights for years. She loves long hair. But I don’t wear makeup. Being the mother of bride and I needed make up that would hold up to tears of joy and the long day of hugs and kisses from family. I had so many compliments on how gorgeous I looked. Thank you so much Donna! My daughter Bella the beautiful bride had been so stressed her face broke out. But Donna made her look flawless. So natural. It was my beautiful daughter. She looked like a magazine cover. But it didn’t look like she had any makeup on. Just a natural beauty. Oh and definitely do a bridal trial!! She recommended highlights and a hair cut. It was all crooked and had a chunk of hair missing in the back. Donna fixed her hair. It just all came together. Just Trust Donna!! She is a professional! Donna and Krystal did our hair and make up for my wedding and they were fabulous! You can tell they are knowledgeable in the field and fun to get ready with! We had so many compliments on the hair and makeup all throughout the night. Both Donna and Krystal did an amazing job of enhancing our natural features without over doing it. 10/10 would recommend again!

On my wedding day, I wanted to be elegant and only enhance my natural features. Coming from someone who has not always been confident in my look, Donna was able to deliver exactly what I wanted while also making feel the most beautiful I have ever felt! While maintaining and actually improving the health of my skin, delivered a natural make up look while enhancing all my features. Donna is a firecracker and there is never a dull moment with her. She will make you feel like you have known her your whole life and always have your best interest at heart. She has an amazing team behind her as well to help her out on the big day. Our hair dresser Tina was nothing short of amazing. While she works fast, she was able to recreate all my bridesmaids’ hair inspirations and put her own personal twist on it. Donna and her stylists who were on site at my wedding (Marianne for hair and Alana for makeup) were absolutely fantastic from the trial through the wedding! They are clearly experts - I was struggling to figure out how the timing of everything should work, but I didn't need to worry, they had everything under control - they were even able to add the flower girls at the last minute. My hair turned out far and away beyond my wildest dreams, even after all of the time I spent on Instagram and Pinterest looking at different styles - she got exactly what I wanted and made it even better - and seemed just as excited about it as I was! Makeup was also fantastic, I especially loved my eyes. I would absolutely recommend Makeover Artistry for your wedding or other special event!

Our experience was very positive. From the trial to the wedding day we were very pleased with our stylist Krystal. The hair and make up was exactly what we asked for. Our junior bridesmaid had hair and make up also and it was done perfectly and age appropriate. We had a small wedding party so one stylist was able to take care of us all. We did not feel rushed and each of us felt pampered and well taken care of. Krystal was excellent at her craft and extremely pleasant and thoughtful. Communication both with Donna and Krystal was great. I would recommend Makeover Artistry to anyone with a wedding or event coming up. We were extremely pleased! Donna is so professional and she did a wonderful job. I was looking for a perfect make up artist for my skin and when I did the trial with her it was perfect, she did the make up accordingly to my face. As the mother of the bride, I am eternally grateful Donna Sousa was available for my daughter’s wedding. This is the first wedding for my family and as my only daughter, I wanted this part to be very special and memorable for her. After scrolling through many bridal stylist sites and leaving messages and actually making an appointment for a trial, something made me scroll through the Wedding Wire and Knot sites again. Donna’s website popped up for the first time and after seeing all her work experiences, accolades, and excellent reviews, I called Donna with every fingers crossed. What a relief when she told me not only is she available, but she will be providing the service!! From the first phone call to the day of the wedding, Donna was very professional, calm, communicative, down to earth, open to ideas, accommodating, and very supportive, and understanding. It was one aspect of the wedding my daughter and I didn’t worry about at all. When we went for our make up and hair trials, my daughter and I had such a fun time. Donna knew the shades of make up to use based on our skin tones and even used the airbrush which is new to us. Tina created a masterpiece with our hair blending styles from pictures and respecting our expectations. With my thinning hair, Tina added hair extensions which was a surprise and created such an amazing and intricate hairstyle that I have never seen and imagine having for the wedding. My trial make up even stayed on beyond 24 hrs as Donna bragged which was so true because I didn’t reapply when my husband and I went to our anniversary dinner the next day. After our trial experiences, my daughter and I knew we were very lucky to have Donna and Tina as our bridal hair and make up artists! Besides being our professional artist, Donna was a life saver when I needed to find a seamstress for my mom’s and my dress (which needed a lot of adjustments). Everyone I called was all booked and I was in complete panic! She connected me with one which she had highly recommended and miraculously was available. Is there anything Donna can’t do??? Nope!! The morning of the wedding, Donna and Tina worked very well together and were completely organized getting 10 ladies ready for the big day. The bridesmaids were happy that they didn’t have to do their own make up and hair since they don’t normally wear a lot of make up and style their hair mostly in pony tails (as pharmacists). My mom and mother in law felt so special as well like they were the “queens of the ball”! When everyone was done and we were all dressed, we all looked so radiant and gorgeous! My daughter had a huge smile on her face and was so elated which is all I ever wished for on her wedding day. She was the most beautiful bride in the whole world! We received many compliments from the guests…even the word “hot” 💋 was used! Donna and Tina are 2 precious people that will make every bride’s dream come true…to feel and look like a princess bride on her special day! 🌺

Donna and her team did an amazing job this past weekend for the wedding of my son and his partner! 12 attendants and 1 groom needed hair and makeup and we all came out beautiful! Donna even did 2 guests as last minute add in’s with no complaints! I would highly recommend her!

Donna is an outstanding makeup artist. She did an amazing job with my daughter in laws bridal party, mother of bride and myself, mother of the groom. Everyone’s makeup looked stunning , I loved the airbrush technique , and it all lasted so beautifully throughout the day and evening. She’s very professional, and very sweet. I will definitely use her again when I have somewhere special to go.

Had a great experience with Donna and Tina. My airbrush makeup held up all night through the endless dancing! My curled hair held up well through my indoor ceremony, but once we stepped foot in Newport humidity my curls mostly came out. That’s the risk of wearing an all down style in RI humidity! No fault to the stylist, that’s just how my hair works and I knew that going into it. It still looked great in most of my pictures! Both the mothers and my bridesmaids loved their makeup and hair as well!

Donna is an incredible artist who is easy to talk to, a great listener, and willing to take feedback about your wedding makeup wants and needs. Since I don't wear makeup everyday, Donna worked with me to plan an additional bridal trial to modify the makeup she had done from the first round, so I had a better understanding of the process and what colors/looks were the best for my skin and dress. After recommending a hydrating skin facial, I followed her advice and my makeup went on even better the day of the wedding! She is the epitome of professionalism and skill. As for hair, I worked with Ratina, an incredible hair stylist. After a few Pintrest photos, she was able to make my wedding hair vision even better than I expected! If she recommends hair extensions (she'll put them in for you and dye them to your hair color), DO IT! You keep them afterwards, but my thin hair could not hold a curl and the extensions were critical for holding the curl and making the look complete. I cannot thank Donna and Ratina enough for making me feel comfortable and beautiful on my wedding day! Their work ethic and attention to detail is second to none; you will not be disappointed.

Donna was easy to work with! She provided a hair stylist (Tina) and make up artist (Anne) who went above and beyond to meet our needs. We cannot say enough about the results of hair and makeup for the brides and bridal party! Absolutely stunning!!!

Donna and her team were so amazing with hair and make up on our wedding day! My hair and make up lasted the entire night and into the next day. I was blown away with Donna's amazing talents at my makeup trial, and I was so excited to have her at the wedding! Donna did the makeup for my bridesmaids, mum and mother-in law and everyone absolutely loved their makeup! Donna also did my makeup for my welcome party, and it was absolutely stunning! She stayed the entire day of the wedding making sure she did touchups throughout the day and some makeup tweaks for the reception. Donna and Ratina (hair) were INCREDIBLE for my sister's wedding in Newport. The day was gloomy and they were so upbeat and happy to be part of the occasion. It was an Indian wedding and Donna has about 8 people to do. They came on time and stayed after for touch ups. The airbrush was beautiful, it lasted very long. Donna took her time to put on eyelashes, match our skin tones to the makeup and make sure we felt truly beautiful. They worked extremely hard, have great communication and made the whole experience perfect for everyone involved. They were able to stay and schedule as well which was a huge plus. I recommend them for anyone who is planning a wedding!! I got several compliments on my maid of honor hair and makeup which photographed beautifully. Thank you so much Donna and team. You are all insanely talented!

If there were 10 stars , I would give that rating to Donna! She exceeded all expectations beyond anything I could imagine ! I was first introduced to Donna by a very close mutual friend. Once I looked at her work and spoke with her , she was the one ! (Thankfully I followed my gut and all recommendations ) I met her at her studio and it was instant chemistry ! We became friends right away — so important because the day of the wedding I needed this energy around me. Not only did we click , but I was impressed at her technique and skills… im honest, I dont really like makeup , and was scared to look “different” the day of my wedding. But Donna knew exactly what to do! It was “my skin but better” and she highlighted my “best features”. Donna was so kind to schedule hair for the trial as well. I had a vision and they both delivered ❤️ Fast forward, not only did Donna help me with make up, but she organized different teams to visit my family and the family of my husband. She coordinated like 6 teams of artists to travel to another city, be at the time and place they needed to be in order to help all my guests get ready (my wedding planner did not) This seems like a lot of help , but its not even half of what Donna did for me ! .. the day before my wedding I realized I was not going to be able to get ready at my apartment , and guess who helped me .. not my wedding planner but DONNA ! She did not have to , at all! But I am so grateful , she got my wedding party and me the MOST beautiful venue to get ready , the entire upper floor and two beautiful rooms at Villa 120. It was more than I could ever imagine !!!!! Villa 120 was gorgeous and dreamy in every possible way. They had refreshments and were so kind to my wedding party and me. Also recommend blindly 10/10. Back to Donna’s artistry -because thats probably why you are here for- I was complimented all night . My makeup did not smudge , it stayed on all night (I DANCED all night haha) and to be honest , the longer it was on the better it wore as her technique is to blend so seamlessly with your skin. There are million other things I could say about Donna , but I truly want every bride or anyone interested, to hire Donna . She was not only my make up artist , but became a planner , a support , a Fairy and a friend I will continue seeing all my life ! Donna did makeup for my wedding on 10-01-22 and my bridal party and I looked flawless all day and night! We received so many compliments. I have had airbrush done in the past that I was unhappy with but Donna knows what she’s doing! She and Maureen (hair stylist) were prompt and got through all of the girls who needed hair and makeup without a hitch. So grateful she had an opening to accommodate us. If you’re looking for someone who knows their stuff, look no further.

My step daughter contracted Donna for her wedding. I was a little skeptical that my makeup would stay as she had a lot of girls to go through both hair and makeup so we needed to start very early. My makeup was beautiful and flawless until after midnight. Amazing job. I will be getting married in May and will be using the best - Donna!

Donna is amazing at what she does. She has outstanding punctuality,great at understanding what her clients wants and very professional. All I can say is WOW! My future daughter-in-law found Donna to do her bridal parties' makeup, as well as her mom and myself. I'll be honest, I was a little hesitant, as I do not spend a lot of time on doing my makeup myself, and I was worried that I would look 'fake' having professional makeup done. I couldn't have been more wrong! Not only did the girls in the party look amazing, but Donna gave me the "Hollywood Glam" look I was going for (it was a black-tie wedding) while making me feel so natural with it. She really transformed me in a beautiful way. The whole experience was wonderful too. Nice music and gentle conversation to relax you. I highly, highly recommend Donna - she is a real pro!

Donna is the master of all talents! Not only did she do flawless makeup for the bride, maid of honor and mother of the bride -she also scheduled several teams of wonderful talents to do hair and makeup for the bridal party and many guests!! A few months back I did a wedding makeup trial with Donna and everything was great. I hired Donna to do makeup for my wedding and a few girls in the bridal party. Everyone looked fabulous. I also had Tina on her team do my hair and it was stunning! I loved the way I looked. I received many compliments. I would definitely hire Donna and team again.

Donna did an amazing job on my makeup and her hair stylist was awesome. I’m terms of makeup, I was very high maintenance in that I don’t where a ton of makeup and wanted to be very comfortable. Donna heard me and adjusted to what I was going for. She even taught me some tricks that I use now. In the end, I really did feel like my most beautiful self, looking like me, but more radiant!

Donna got me ready for my wedding, it was a traditional Indian wedding, she played her magic with her amazing brushes. The look was exactly what I wanted, subtle yet very bridal & well suited for my wedding and reception saree. I have a short hair but yet she managed a very elaborate hairstyle and weaved a beautiful bunch of flowers to compliment my attire. I would highly recommend Donna, she will never disappoint you. She is very professional and I must say a perfectionist, she won’t stop until she gets every small thing correct. Simply love her ♥️

Donna and her team just did the hair and makeup for my wedding reception and did an amazing job!!! We had 10 girls and her entire team was fantastic. She’s so great to work with, our hair and makeup stayed on all night into the next morning, and everyone was so happy. It made the day so much more fun. She even brought her own speakers to the hotel so we could have a little party while getting dressed. Highly recommend her and will definitely work with her again!!

Donna and her team were so amazing! I had a disaster dye job done on my hair from another salon, and I immediately called Donna who I had already booked for hair and makeup for our wedding, to see if she could do anything to fix it. She worked some magic and it looked beautiful after! Donna is truly a master of her trade. When I needed someone for makeup and hair for my wedding, I reached out to her based on a family friend’s recommendation. After going to her salon for a trial, I knew she was the perfect person for the job. She took the time to get to know me, learn about my style, and my comfort level when it comes to makeup and hair. Day of the wedding Donna and her colleague did a wonderful job on my, my bridal party’s, mother’s, mother in law’s and even grandmother’s hair and makeup. She made everyone feel beautiful and confident. I would highly recommend Donna. No only is she extremely talented, but her kind and calm demeanor is exactly what one needs on a special but stressful day.

Donna is wonderful. A friend hired Donna for her daughters wedding and was very happy with her so when I was looking for someone to do hair and make up for my daughters wedding I gave Donna a call. My daughter, mother of the groom, and I visited her salon in RI and were very impressed with how she made us look. Despite being from MA my daughters wedding was in NY and Donna and one of her colleagues traveled to NY and spent the day with us getting us ready. Not only did they do our hair and make up at the hotel before we went to the wedding venue, but Donna also traveled to the venue and after photos were taken, Donna retouched everyone's hair and makeup before we walked down the aisle. This is something not many hair/makeup professionals do and it shows how much pride Donna takes in her finished product (the bridal party) and how much she cares for all of us. I have worked with Donna twice now. Once for my stepdaughter's wedding five years ago where Donna worked with my mom and I, and then again last weekend for my son's wedding where Donna did the makeup for the entire bridal party. There is no one more talented than Donna. Her ability to transform you, and make you look like an amazing version of yourself is unparalleled. Donna did the entire bridal party and then joined us at the wedding venue for touchups. Everyone looked incredible, especially the beautiful bride. Donna Sousa’s makeup was amazing! I hired her a few months before to do my daughter and my makeup for my son’s wedding in Newport. I live in Florida so I saw reviews and pictures of her work and knew Donna would be great. I am happy to report that our makeup looked over the top excellent! My sister hired Donna for her wedding / party makeup, and Donna perfected it! She came in with ALL her needed makeup, styling chair, lighting - and went right to making all of us feel Glamorous! She did my eyeliner and eyelashes the way I imagined, with a smoky eyeshadow that ended up matching my bridesmaid dress perfectly. It all came together so nicely, and my sister looked Beautiful for her wedding! I wish I could hire her for mine, but I am out of state in Maine. Additionally, she's helping me with recommendations to help me find someone to help me feel pretty for my day. She has a great personality and does her work so well! Donna and Krystal were amazing. I wanted someone who would make me look my best and she excelled. I showed her pictures for my hair and she created what I was looking for. Donna was so personable, it was fun talking with her while she worked. You feel like you're with a friend you've known for years. I completely trusted her expertiece and was not disappointed. I didn't get to do a trial because of covid and she did my makeup perfectly on the day of the wedding. The airbrush and eyelashes made my look, and our pictures look amazing. We were in a tough situation a few weeks ago when we had to postpone our large wedding ceremony and plan for a smaller ceremony instead. However, even with short notice from a panicked bride-to-be, Donna and her team of extremely talented make up artists and hair specialists stepped in to save the day! Donna arranged everything to make the process of preparing on the day of the wedding so easy and worry-free for me and my bridesmaids. Maryanne, the makeup artist, and Tina, the hair specialist, came to us so we would not have to travel on the day of the wedding and were both so fun to work with! Maryanne and Tina did an outstanding job on our makeup and hair and made us all look so beautiful! I cannot rave enough about the experience we had with Donna, Maryanne and Tina! For anyone looking for help preparing for weddings, proms, a fancy night out or otherwise, please consider Donna and her team! You will not be disappointed!

Donna and Odessa did an amazing job! I met with them for a trial a few weeks before the wedding and they were very receptive to my preferences and requests for different tweaks and took lots of photos so we would have a reference for the actual day. On the wedding day, it was like meeting back up with old friends - Donna quickly and perfectly executed the makeup for me, me wedding party, and some of my family members, despite the challenges of some of us being 'newbies' to getting our makeup done. Odessa did a fantastic job listening to what each person wanted and creating some amazing vintage looks for me and my bridal party. I loved that she would keep working on it until it was exactly what you wanted. Communication and payment was easy and I felt the prices were reasonable for the great quality of work. One really important thing for me was that after a tough family interaction I started crying a lot before the ceremony and I thought for sure all of my makeup would be ruined but everything was still perfect - I only had to reapply lipstick. The fact that we all still looked good at the end of the night was also a nice surprise I didn't expect.

I am completely amazed and floored by the way Maryanne did my hair and makeup. It was beyond fabulous and totally exceeded my expectations. Thank you so much!!!!

After a disappointing first trial elsewhere, I found Donna and she was able to see me right away. Thank goodness, because she really listened to what I was looking for and made me look absolutely beautiful. I could tell she was extremely knowledgeable and experienced in this field. Obviously I booked her right away! Donna was very knowledgeable about makeup and application, and she explained every step she was doing along the way. I’ve only had my trial with Donna, but it was such a wonderful experience! Donna is responsive, and very good at what she does! Donna not only does an excellent job of being attentive to your make-up needs but ensures that you also are informed as to how to prep for your beauty routine leading up to your wedding. I felt beautiful, glamorous and walking out of my trial confident in my hair and make-up. On the day of my trial, another bride was scheduled for later in the day, but Donna was able to work with our schedules and actually had us do our trials at the same time which truly made the experience more fun. While I had my make-up done, the other bride had her hair styled and then we switched. It was fun experiencing my trial at the same time as another bride as the conversation helped move the tralong and provided an enjoyable shared experience.
