Makeup By Mara

Mara was so sweet and made me feel comfortable and tried different looks with me until I found the perfect one during our trial. On my wedding day she was quick yet diligent at getting all the girls and myself done for pictures.

Mara is great. I felt so beautiful on my wedding day, she does a phenomenal job. She was promptly on time, and got everyone done in timely manner. I would highly recommend her to anyone, and everyone I know. I am so glad I found her.

Mara is simply AMAZING. There is a lot of details to worry about leading up to your wedding and the day of but your make-up does not have to be one of them. From the first time I contacted Mara, she impressed me with her highly responsive nature to my emails (not very common among wedding vendors, in my experience). During the make-up trial, Mara was able to take a few images and my vague description of what I envisioned and provide exactly what I was looking for- make-up that would appear in picture but looked natural in person. Mara applied my input on my preferences of skin-tone/coverage, eye shadow color, brow thickness, and other various elements. Leading up to the wedding, she independently contacted me to confirm details of location and time to assure things went as smoothly as possible. The day of the wedding she arrived on time to set-up. She started each of her sessions with my bridesmaids by asking about their skin type, what lotions they had on their skin to prep it, and had them describe what they type of make-up application they were interested in (e.g., more natural, play up the eyes, bronzed skin, etc.). When she had finished the application of each person, it was evident that she would change her style based on their specific request. The bridesmaids had a range of skin tones and personal preferences that Mara was able to easily accommodate. When asked to make an adjustment to her make-up (which happened maybe once out of 7 people) she happily obliged and tweaked the make-up based on the request. Many of my "career bridesmaid" noted how rare it was to meet a make-up artist who was so versatile in her application and had thorough consultations with each girl. In addition to being a highly skilled and professional make-up artist, Mara is a delightful person to have around on your wedding day. Many of my bridesmaids commented on how bubble, positive, calm, and fun she was throughout the 6 hours of make-up application.

Best makeup I have ever had and I usually don't like it when someone else does my make up. Having Mara do my makeup at my wedding was definitely one of the best decisions throughout my wedding process. Very reasonably priced and traveled to my house. She is very patient, and will tweak it if when you as the client are undecided of what you really want. I am looking for events that I can get my make up done for because I lived it so much. Trial is cheaper as well which is definitely a plus! Happy to recommend Mara.

Mara did the makeup for my wedding in September and I couldn't have been happier! From my first inquiry, to the trial, to the day of, she was reliable, professional and a pleasure to work with. I can be a bit picky when it comes to my makeup, but Mara exceeded my expectations! I was and still am in love with the way I looked that day! Not only was I happy, but all of my Bridesmaids looked stunning and were raving about her!!!

Mara did makeup for the bridal party and the mothers of the bride and groom at my daughter's wedding in June 2013. She was fantastic! She was calm, but also fun and friendly, and she made us all feel very comfortable. She was very responsive to each individual's personal tastes and requests. She also was efficient, but thorough; she was done in plenty of time, and she even had time to put a tiny bit of makeup on the 6-year-old flower girl, who was thrilled! Most important: Everyone loved their makeup; we all felt beautiful! One of the women In the bridal party immediately hired Mara for an event she was planning. I wish Mara could stop by my house every morning to do my makeup!
