I hired Paulette and her hair stylist Steph to do hair and makeup for me and my family on my wedding day in November. Two days before the wedding, I was told the hairstylist I orig...
inally booked, Steph, could only do my hair and one other family member and then had to leave immediately due to a family emergency to catch a flight. This completely changed the getting-ready schedule forcing me to go first instead of in the middle like originally planned. Steph having to catch a flight could no longer stay for touch-ups at my venue as I had requested, so a replacement stylist, Caro, was brought in to do the rest of my families hair and my touch ups.
While I understand emergencies happen, when I expressed how stressful the last-minute change was, my concerns were dismissed, I was told emergencies happen and it would be fine. On the wedding day Steph did my hair. It looked nice, but it felt rushed and wasn’t exactly what we had originally planned. Before leaving, Paulette even wished Steph a safe flight, and I did as well.
The following day I saw an Instagram story where Steph was tagged in Jupiter, Florida, just an hour away from my venue. It became very clear she had not actually caught a flight anywhere. This made the explanation about a family emergency and needing to fly out feel untrue, instead seemed more like a scheduling conflict where another commitment had been prioritized over my wedding.
After the wedding I reached out to Paulette to share my concerns. While she initially apologized for “how it came across” she said she didn’t feel it was appropriate to share personal scheduling details the morning of my wedding. There was no effort to make the situation right, and after I explained why the situation felt misleading, I never received another response. While the hair and makeup turned out fine overall, the communication and handling of this situation were disappointing, and I feel future brides should be aware.

k than me and did an amazing job! I trust her completely for all different events!
Paulette was hired for a wedding in December 2025. The services in the contract were not fully completed, and none were complimentary. Using this as justification for incomplete wo...
rk is unprofessional. Paulette and Steph did hair and makeup for the bride and her party. When it was time for the groom, they left the bridal suite and told the bride they were going next door to do the groom’s and the bride’s father’s hair and light makeup.
Paulette briefly touched up the bride’s father before attempting to leave without notifying the bride, groom, or planner. The groom and a photographer found her by the elevator. She approached the groom with a small makeup bag, said men’s makeup could be done “very quickly,” tapped his face twice, and told him he was finished. This occurred in the hallway during photos and videos, disrupting the groom’s moment and causing lost footage.
The groom did not receive moisturizer, prep, or personalized service, despite assurances that Paulette was experienced, understood expectations, and had confirmed the plan. He walked out bare-faced and dry and had to manage his hair himself before the first look, as the hairstylist never completed services or met either of them. Leaving early without informing the bride or planner caused unnecessary problems. When contacted the next day, the team stated there was a family emergency only after being asked and gave conflicting explanations, including that they were “too busy” or “didn’t want to worry anyone.”
Reframing services afterward does not excuse the issues. Contracted services are binding. The bride repeatedly asked for help with her veil. The hairstylist said she would teach someone, yet the team left without ensuring anyone knew how to manage it. Staying a few extra minutes would have made a difference. The bride also posed for the makeup team’s content while the photography team needed her. Paulette shared only one photo and two short videos, while additional images were posted publicly. Messages went unanswered while social media posts were made. Paulette stated the photos were sent as a courtesy and were not required.
While makeup and hair were completed for the bridal team, the team claimed extensive skin prep for the bride and the mother of the bride. In reality, no face masks were applied (only eye masks), and prep matched the trial, despite the higher cost. The flower girl’s eyeshadow felt rushed. Regardless of perceived quality, the service was unacceptable.
The team left without completing several promised services, did not ensure all clients were satisfied, and failed to communicate. A major concern was the groom’s hair flying everywhere, from the first look on the pier, through the beach ceremony, post-ceremony photos, and the outdoor cocktail hour, due to strong winds, which the team knew and had been specifically noted by the bride.
Despite raising concerns and referencing the contract, we received no adequate response. The compensation offered afterward did not reflect the severity or impact of the issues. We declined due to the team’s dismissive and rude behavior. Because of this lack of care, honesty, and professionalism, we would not use or recommend these services again.
