Every bridesmaid told me she did the best makeup they've ever had done. I would HIGHLY recommend Cierra. When I was getting my own makeup done, Cierra was the calming voice I needed and helped me get all my nerves settled with her banter and jokes. I hope she is available for others to book because she made my morning!

on time, and I loved my look! I had a makeup trial about a month before the wedding day and found it very helpful to get on the same page and know what to expect for the day of. After the trial, I did request a few minor tweaks and Cierra was very receptive and made sure I was completely happy with it on the wedding day before leaving. I booked both hair and makeup services through Ravishing, though hair is contracted with local hair stylists so Amanda was in charge of makeup only. My initial booking was through Amanda, then from there I communicated directly with Cierra (for makeup) and the hair stylist to schedule the hair and makeup trial and coordinate the day of timeline. Communication often required a lot of back-and-forth and I often felt put in the position of being a go-between with the various parties. For example, I confirmed with Cierra the number of people receiving makeup services, but I then needed to confirm this same information back to Amanda when I found this hadn’t been communicated to her. Likewise, when planning the wedding morning timeline, I needed to go back and forth multiple times between the hairstylist and makeup artist to confirm times and details, which added stress and would have been easier had they coordinated with each other directly. I was overall very happy with my makeup, but communication could have been more efficient.

before my wedding and told me she was unsure if she’d be able to fit us all in on time with my timeline and if it was possible to come earlier. It didn’t phase me that much at first because we had plenty of time to get everyone done before pictures, however, she came 45 minutes LATE and didn't tell me until the morning of that her helper couldn’t be there. Then as I’m finishing up (late), she tells me I need to front all the money for my bridesmaids and my venue had POOR service. And she wouldn’t leave until I proved it went through. I wish she had said something within the past year because I would’ve taken care of it way earlier, but it wasn’t part of the contract. I had to awkwardly ask my bridesmaids how much to tip and then proceeded to try and find service for the next 20 minutes. Then, after I finally got service and sent the payment she told me she didn’t receive it so I had to get my bridesmaid to get service for me to show her the confirmation because I was already late getting into my dress.
Furthermore, I already knew I needed to bring mascara and lip stick, but she didn’t even put it on!
Again, job well done, but not very professional at all in my experience. Makes me wonder why my makeup cost $50 more than my bridesmaids too.

ed I would come around 8:45 however in my experience that often time can be difficult to get people started so I sent you a message Saturday morning to let you know that I was on my way and that I was going to come at 9:15 to allow you all time to settle in. I arrived to the venue at 9:17 and unloaded my car but there was an issue with the seating/bar stool so I had to head back and grab that since there wasn’t one at the venue. Overall I started your party around 9:35.
Regarding the issue of payment, I had not been to the venue and was not as familiar with the issues with service and did not know there wouldn’t be any WiFi available as well for anyone to use. While I understand your frustration I was having trouble with gathering payment from the members of your bridal party due to cell issues and lack of cash so having them pay you was what was suggested. I know it’s a stressful day and I apologize if that added to it however I just wanted to ensure things were settled up before I left. I hope you understand we try to ensure your day runs smoothly and I thought I adhered to your need of 12:45 being ready by finishing at 12:15. Also I used my products for your lips (butterglosses) prior to spraying finishing spray however I should have asked if you had a lip color you wanted to use with you.
Again I’m sorry that you were not satisfied and that my assistant was unable to come due to a crisis in her family. I just didn’t want to stress you out and I will know in the future maybe I should convey that whether I think it will stress a bride out or not.

I was wanting to find a makeup artist that could work with me, my bridesmaids, and female family members the day of the wedding, preferably on location instead of having to go to a salon. I found Makeup by Ravishing through an internet search....
I was able to book both hair and makeup services, though Amanda was in charge of makeup only and contracts with area hair stylists.
I did a makeup trial but unfortunately Amanda could not be there, so one of her assistants, Cierra, did the makeup and did a great job.
The day of the wedding, Cierra was on time and made good time with the 5 of us that had makeup done. One complaint with the makeup was that the false eyelashes had issues staying on after she left, but otherwise I was pleased with the look.
Another issue I want to be made aware is that Amanda was not always timely in responding to emails or clear on communication. For instance, I was under the impression that Amanda would be doing my makeup, even though she did not do the trial, but was told later that she was unable to come that day and Cierra would do it. I do not mind overall, as Cierra did my makeup trial, but there was miscommunication there. My understanding with waiting to get a response from Amanda was she was busy at the time for personal reasons, but I want brides to be aware that if booking with Amanda – while I was pleased overall again with booking – you may need to either be patient or send a reminder if Amanda does not respond to your emails right away.
As I said, other than that I was pleased and happy to have booked with Makeup by Ravishing for the wedding. The prices were reasonable, and the convenience of them coming to the ceremony site was so helpful and lessened the stress of the day!

need to confirm some things first then get back to me, often times never getting back to me unless I sent a follow up message. Finally 1 month before the wedding she admitted her make up artist had a scheduling conflict. She asked that I give her a few days to figure it out but that she was confident she would. A few days passed and I didn't hear from her so I messaged again and she finally admitted she had no solutions and she would refund my deposit money (which she did immediately). About two weeks before the big day, Amanda asked if we could get started an hour earlier the morning of. She explained she was concerned about timing. However, the morning of she ended up being a half hour late and then we still finished two hours before we needed to be ready for the photographer so some touch ups were needed after sitting around that we had to do ourselves. Throughout the day it became evident that the real concern was getting out of there on time to meet another client. I understand having multiple bookings in a day, but would have preferred for that to be mentioned up front. Amanda can also be a little on the abrupt side. Being pulled in different directions the morning of I was not always able to be in the room, but I did hear there were several comments made that were a little rude. Some of the things discussed were not necessarily professional and could have just been handled differently.

re natural look, but still make me look amazing. For my wedding day, I had myself, 8 bridesmaids, and 2 mothers all getting their makeup done. Amanda and her assistant arrived at my bridal suite bright and early and finished everyone's makeup way faster than I expected! Her pricing included false eyelashes for everyone, which I think made such a difference--even for some of my friends who never wore them before. The color palate she chose for all of us matched our dresses perfectly and didn't look over the top. Everyone looked like a better version of themselves! The makeup didn't feel overdone or heavy, but most importantly it stayed on the entire day/night, through hours of picture taking and crying happy tears! I couldn't recommend Amanda highly enough!

Planning a wedding out of state is always a challenge and I was very nervous about picking a makeup artist without getting a chance to do a trial or meet them in person first. After a lot of research on the internet I found Makeup by Ravishing....
After seeing Amanda's portfolio I was very interested so I contacted her. She responded very quickly and answered all my questions. I went ahead and booked her and had a trial the next time I was in town. Amanda is truly awesome about listening to what her clients want. It took me 3 trials playing around with different color palettes to figure out what I wanted, but on the 3rd time we nailed it! I truly appreciated her patience with me knowing how important it was to get the exact look I was looking for on my wedding day. She is super personable and helped keep me relaxed on the big day. After my trial with Amanda, I was in LOVE with my make up. She listened to what I wanted and made me feel like I truly was at my best.

ing is based in Roanoke, Virginia; my wedding was in Orange, Virginia. Amanda quoted a reasonable fee that included travel expense. In the days leading up to the wedding weekend, we communicated via email. She was always easy to reach. Wedding Day: The Bridesmaids and myself were at the bed and breakfast; the mothers and grandmothers were at a hotel. Amanda had no issue with going to two places. Additionally, she made sure to allow herself enough time on my makeup. When it came to my makeup, she came prepared (tons of makeup and a chair). Generally, I am minimal in primping; but, this day I wanted to be glam. When I turned around and saw myself in the mirror; I cried. I hate looking in the mirror on most days; Amanda made me beautiful and glam. I didn't have matching lipstick and she gave me one of hers. She is top notch and I would recommend her to anyone...I would also use her again. My Bridesmaids, the mothers, and grandmothers also would recommend her. They also looked beautiful.
