Makeup by Shilpa

The first thing you notice about Shilpa is her warm smile and attitude! From the day of our trial, to the day of my second event with her, Shilpa had a smile on her face and made me feel comfortable and relaxed. She's so down to earth, and not arrogant like a few other MUAH artists with whom I spoke! Shilpa is truly talented. She's is just good at what she does. She can put together a makeup concept for you based on your skin type and what colors suit you; or based on a picture you show her. Same with hair design. She is responsive to emails, and provides helpful suggestions. There are several MUAH artists in DFW who do South Asian weddings, and their pricing is similar (for the ones who provide makeup, hair, dupatta/jewelry setting). The only reason I gave Shilpa a 4/5 on value is because I think all MUAH artists (again, the ones who do the aforementioned) are a bit pricey, so it's not just Shilpa. Other than that, she was incredibly flexible, to the extent she could be. I used Shilpa for both my mehndi and wedding, but I didn't book Shilpa for my mehndi till a couple of weeks beforehand (because I was reluctant to pay)! I lucked out that she was available the day I needed her. I'm so glad I booked her, too, because it just cut out a lot of extra hassle and stress on my end! The result was two very different looks for the two days that I got many compliments on! I looked and felt beautiful on my mehndi and wedding day! Would recommend, and have already recommended her, to any bride!

Shilpa is amazingly talented at what she does. I had a few trials with other make-up/hair artists and was not happy with the way I looked. I Found Shilpa after an extensive search for the best in the Dallas area. She is THE BEST by far! She made me look and feel perfect for not only my Bridal portraits but also on my wedding day. She is a artist and has such an amazing talent that words can not describe how happy I am with her work. She is amazing!!! She was extremely coordinating with my schedule and listened my thoughts and ideas to achieve the look I was hoping for. Mastered it!! She is also extremely nice and personable:) Definitely I recommend Makeup by Shilpa if you want to look and feel beautiful on your big day! Her staff also did my moms, grandmothers, and bridal parties hair and makeup and was absolutely beautiful!!

Makeup by Shilpa exceeded my expectations in every way! Not only did she make me feel comfortable and confident, she made sure that I looked and felt absolutely beautiful on my wedding day. Prior to the wedding, I did trial hair and makeup with Shilpa and she made every effort possible to accommodate to my requests and made sure that it was exactly what I wanted. At first, I wasn't sure about the look that I wanted. Without ever being pushy or overwhelming, Shilpa gave me suggestions, made recommendations, and was very honest about everything. On the day of my wedding, she and her staff arrived bright and early, smiling and excited. Shilpa's warm and friendly personality instantly made me feel more relaxed. My makeup was absolutely flawless, but beyond that, she made sure that it met every expectation I had. Furthermore, my hair and makeup looked amazing all day and well into the evening! Not only is she truly talented at her craft, she and her staff are extremely professional and was able to do hair and makeup for my 10 bridesmaids efficiently! My family and friends complimented it so much. You definitely achieved the "glowy" look because I heard that term left and right. Look no further if you have a wedding coming up! Since we are new to Texas, it was really difficult for us to find someone reliable for my big day, fortunately my sister came across Shilpa's work and after reading various reviews and looking through her pictures we decided to have her do my hair and make up for my engagement, as well as my wedding as well! I took a risk of not scheduling a trial session before my engagement, but without a doubt Shilpa and her crew made me look beautiful! I got compliments all night long about my make up and hair. The air brush make up was just perfect. It felt like I had nothing on my skin. The colors she used for my eye make up turned out absolutely gorgeous! The only thing I had told Shilpa before she started working on me, is that i want a natural look and something very simple for my hair style and she did exactly what I had asked for. I was even helped to get into my dress and jewelry. Shilpa and her crew started on time and finished exactly on the time. Because of professionalism, great talent, amazing skills, flexibility with timings and requests; I have decided to get my wedding make up and hair from Shilpa. I, along with my bride's maids and family members cannot wait to have her on board for my wedding!! A big thanks to Shilpa and her wonderful crew! :)

Shilpa came highly recommended for both hair and makeup, and I can see why. She’s very professional, dependable and extremely talented. She’s very responsive to emails/voicemails and throughout the planning process she offered me assurance that we would achieve the look I wanted...and she delivered. I highly recommend doing a trial with her so you get an idea of what look works for you. I wasn’t sure what I liked beforehand, but after the trial, I had a clear picture. This also saved time in making any last minute decisions on the wedding day. I normally don't wear that much makeup. She used an airbrush which worked great for me. It felt so light and natural, and lasted all day. I received several compliments on it. She also did hair and makeup for my mother, and my mom was very pleased with the results. She had a great team of assistants who did the bridesmaids’ hair too. Overall, it was an amazing experience. Shilpa is very calm and has the ability to make you feel at ease on your big day. She plans appropriately and gives herself (and her assistants) plenty of buffer time to work with you and your wedding party so no one feels rushed. I was very pleased with the results. I'm very happy and fortunate that Shilpa was a part of our wedding.

Shilpa was absolutely amazing to work with. She is not only a talented hair and makeup artist, but she is a great person and so easy-going. I knew I did not have to stress about my hair and makeup if I was in her hands. She is the utmost professional. She responds immediately to emails, she is always on time, if not early, and she can do pretty much whatever you want with your hair and makeup. I simply showed her a photo of what I wanted, and I was absolutely thrilled with the results. On your wedding day, you want to look gorgeous, and Shilpa does that for you!

Shilpa and her girls were great. I had a huge wedding party and was looking for someone who would be able to provide services to 13 people without me having to worry about time or quality. Shilpa definitely delivered and my wedding party looked wonderful with even 30 minutes to spare. I was hesitant about getting airbrush makeup but the way Shilpa did it I didn't regret it! Shilpa made me look amazing on my wedding day that I even shed a tear once I looked in the mirror. She was friendly, professional and organized.

After weeks of searching, my sister came across Shilpa's web page. I read reviews, looked at videos and photo. Gave her a call and she was everything I needed in a hair and make up artist. She did my mom and sisters hair and make up also. my mom has every thin and fine hair, she was able to make her hair look great. We all wanted very natural look to our makeup, she made that happen. Shilpa was very friendly and helpful and listened to what we wanted and made sure that's how she did it all. Wonderful person to work with. I would recommend her to anyone for any event. She also sent her assistants to my other family and did the ladies on the groom side, everyone looked great!!!!!

Shilpa did my engagement and bridal shoot make-up/hair as well as my wedding day! She was so easy to work with and was very responsive! I was always afraid of doing airbrush make- up because I've seen my friend do it on her wedding day and it didn't turn out well! However, Shilpa did airbrush make up for my bridals and wedding day, and I can tell you, it looked amazing in person and on photos! Well worth the investment! I would recommend Shilpa and her assistant to anyone, and will definitely use her services for any special occasion I need hair and make up done :)

I did a lot of research on who I wanted to have for my hair/makeup/draping for my engagements pics/wedding day and Shilpa went far beyond my expectations! I got so many compliments and even better... I felt so beautiful and confident on our wedding day :) Shilpa is very understanding and works with what her clients want. I was very particular on how I wanted my makeup and draping and she did exactly that but even better. If you want someone very professional and gracious... and most importantly want your pictures to turn out gorgeous... go with Shilpa!

Shilpa has been incredibly courteous and professional in all my time with her. She was very approachable and receptive to my ideas for makeup, (as well as my family members'). The work she does is amazing and the money is very well spent. As soon as I walked out my door for my wedding ceremonies, my family members were just amazed at the makeup that Shilpa did, and I was complimented nonstop.
