Makeup by Shirin

Brittany and Belmira were literal angels on our wedding day!! First off -- every single person in the wedding looked better than ever before. The makeup was so flattering and natural on everyone who got it done. It lasted all night, even through tears and sweat. Second -- I didn’t have a clear idea of what kind of makeup I wanted, but Brittany definitely knew best. For the rehearsal dinner, she went with my initial request, which was a brown lid and rosy cheeks. Looked great, but too dark for the wedding day. Brittany then suggested we go light, bright, rosy, and glowy for the next day, and I immediately knew she understood exactly what I was going for! As you can tell from the photos, she totally nailed it. Third -- they were perhaps THE most accommodating vendor I could possibly imagine. After my father suffered from a freak accident on his way to my first look, they cleaned up and comforted my mom, and they touched me up once I was done crying & kissing him goodbye on his exit by ambulance. My planner then called in my mom’s best friends to come hours early to help calm down my mom. The friends hadn’t even started getting ready yet! Brittany and Belmira were wonderful enough to agree to extra unplanned hours to do their makeup, just to make it easier on us and lighten the mood. I seriously cannot thank them enough for their flexibility and pure kindness!! Finally -- they were professional, prompt, and great to work with all around. The finished product was stunning. 10/10 would recommend!

Shirin is AMAZING! I hired her to do makeup for myself, my 4 bridesmaids, and 2 moms for our wedding and everyone looked incredible. I am usually not someone who wears a lot of makeup, but Shirin made everything look so natural and beautiful. She is the sweetest person ever and helped make the entire getting ready experience so fun and enjoyable. Even better, my makeup lasted the entire day!

Shirin and her sister were two of the most wonderful individuals I have ever met. I had the absolute best experience during my wedding makeup trial with Shirin. And tt was just as great on the day of my wedding. Myself and my 6 bridesmaids had so much fun with them while we were getting ready. Not only did our make up look PERFECT, but it stayed that way all night.

Booking Shirin was the BEST decision I made for my wedding day! She is beyond amazing. Shirin did my makeup for my engagement photos, a wedding trial, and day-of bridal makeup. I came to her with different inspiration photos and she was able to perfectly execute the idea I had in mind. All of my bridesmaids, MOB, and MOG had their makeup done and looked beautiful. I worked with Brittany with Makeup by Shirn and it was one of the best decisions I made. Not only is she a joy to be around while getting ready on your wedding day but she is so talented. Brittany did my wedding makeup and she is AMAZING! I loved my makeup after my trial, and I loved it even more on my wedding day. From the very beginning she was kind, friendly, and professional. We had to move our wedding because of COVID, and I really appreciated how kind she was throughout the whole process. Not all vendors were as flexible. My makeup and my bridesmaids' makeup looked absolutely stunning, and it photographed beautifully. I want Brittany to do my makeup for every event I ever go to! I highly recommend her. She is very talented and a fun person to spend your morning with!

Brittany was my makeup artist for our wedding Nov 2020. Stop and hire her!!!! I had three trials before finding her and she made all my dreams come true!! I couldn’t have felt more confident all thanks to how she made me feel! Even our hair stylist couldn’t get over how great everyone looked!! Brittany was also so sweet and fun to get ready with!! Highly highly recommend!!!

Shirin is beyond amazing. She is the best makeup artist and does a beautiful job!! My makeup and all of my bridesmaids makeup stayed ALL day even through the sweat and tears! Where do I even begin with Makeup By Shirin!!???!!! Hands down THE BEST make-up team you'll find in Northern VA (or ever). Shirin and her team are so sweet and can make any of your make-up visions into a reality. Just show her a picture or describe what you want and they will EXCEED your expectations. Finding your wedding day make-up artist can be scary and stressful but seriously - look no further. Shirin made me feel like an absolute goddess on my wedding day and I want that for you, too!! Shirin's twin sister, Poneh, came with her on my wedding day and the two of them together are the dream team. All of my bridesmaids were raving about them!! I highly recommend the MUBS team for your wedding day, you will not be disappointed.

I had found Shirin on Instagram before I was even engaged, and saved her information for the day that I started planning our wedding! She is exceptionally professional and responds quickly to e-mails. She was even willing to do a second trial since I wasn't 100% in love with my first trial and she didn't even charge me. She just really wants you to be happy! The way that she does make-up is so flawless, both my make-up and my BM's make-up was so beautiful, we were all in tears! In addition, her energy is wonderful! She had just the type of energy I need on the morning of my wedding!

I stumbled upon Shirin's beautiful work via instagram and I could not stop going back to her photos because of her talent and versatility. Upon reaching out, Shirin was incredibly responsive and so personable. As soon as our first call, I knew I wanted her and her energy to be part of my wedding day. During my wedding trial, she welcomed me, my mom, and my sister and immediately understood the kind of look I was going after showing her just a few photos. She was very open to any feedback / changes, but honestly I had nothing to change - it was perfect! On my wedding day, she was wonderful and brought an assistant so that my bridesmaids could sleep in a little longer :) Once Shirin started with me, all of my bridesmaids crowded and watched as they were in awe as she worked her magic. I felt so confidant and flawless on my wedding day in large part thanks to Shirin. My makeup stayed put and I didn't have to worry about a thing, and I felt the most beautiful I have ever felt. Thank you Shirin!! Plus, my maids and mother / mother in law looked even more amazing than than already do naturally. Shirin was just perfect and will not disappoint!

Shirin makes magic. Makeup was one of the more difficult things for me to book (trying to stay price conscious for bridal party) but not having Shirin would have been a huge mistake. My sister had gotten her makeup done by Shirin as a bridesmaid and absolutely raved about her. After I realized that every single photo and look that Shirin created was absolutely perfect, I finally decided that we had to have her for the day - and I know I would have regretted not booking Shirin. Every look she created was flawless. And even beyond that, her communication, demeanor and day of stress relief was absolutely essential, appreciated and honestly underrated. She is one of the funniest, most genuine, down to earth, honest, (INCREDIBLY TALENTED) and spirited person I've ever met. She helped keep me calm amidst the chaos of the day, which is something I took for granted. You will not regret having Shirin as your makeup artist (but I'm willing to bet you would regret not having her, so book right away!). After looking through a ton of makeup artists, I can honestly say I have never seen a more consistently flawless artist in all of DMV and beyond and the end results reflected that in spades. Thank you SO much, Shirin!!

Is there a way to give 10 stars? Shirin is the actual fairy godmother from Cinderella (only way younger and stylish) sent to make you feel like a GODDESS on your wedding day. She has done my makeup a few times over the years and I literally had her schedule in front of me when I looked for venues because I knew I could only pick a date she was free! She can do anything from a soft natural look to a full on glam look and will truly make you feel like a queen on your big day! Best part-- you look GORGEOUS in photos AND in person because she knows how to make your skin look flawless without looking over done. Top it off with the fact that she is so down to earth and calming makes this talented queen Hands. down. the. best. <3

Wow. Shirin is absolutely amazing and I am SO HAPPY I chose to work with her on my wedding day. She is a true artist and does an amazing job giving people a beautiful, natural look. After a great conversation with her via phone, I decided to schedule a trial before booking. Shirin was as nice as she could be, flexible when I showed up late due to traffic (I’M STILL SO SORRY, SHIRIN!!!), and I absolutely loved my makeup. There was one small change I wanted to make for the wedding, but Shirin was completely open to making that change and did an ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS job with me and all my bridesmaids on the wedding day. I LOVED MY MAKEUP and it DID NOT MOVE. I lost track of how many times I cried (not just watery eyes – tears running down my face), it rained, and I turned into a sweaty mess on the dance floor… and my makeup still looked flawless by the end of the night! It was absolutely amazing. I cannot say enough good things about Shirin and will absolutely use her again if I need makeup done for other events.

I had been following Shirin's work since before my fiancé and I had even gotten engaged, as she has done the makeup for many friend's weddings that I have attended or seen. I was always impressed by how perfect every single bride, bridesmaid, mother, etc. always looks when in Shirin's hands, and I knew I wanted her to be the makeup artist for my own big day. Her work truly speaks for itself! No matter what look she is crafting - from neutral/soft/romantic to full glam, she somehow knows how to make each person she works with look like the best version of themselves, never over-done, but always stunning. Shirin went above and beyond to make sure that everything I had envisioned for our bridal look came to life. From her attention to detail during my trial (getting to know exactly what I wanted and making me comfortable in wearing more makeup than I am used to), to getting to our venue before we even arrived on our wedding day so that she and hear team would be ready to get to work on a pretty tight timeline, she made the experience completely stress-free, and I would highly recommend her to any future bride. I cannot thank her enough for making sure each of my bridesmaids, my mom and mother-in-law-to-be, and of course myself felt and looked beautiful on our wedding day!

Shirin did an absolutely wonderful job on myself and the entire bridal party. She definitely knows what she's doing! The makeup looks great in person and in photos. I wouldn't hesitate in hiring Shirin.
