Makeup by Tara Matos

I had a wonderful experience with my hair and makeup on my wedding day and during the trial; they were exactly what I wanted! However, I found Tara’s communication lacking. I struggled to get her address for the trial, receiving it only an hour beforehand after multiple attempts to reach her. During the trial, we adjusted the services needed for the wedding, and I followed up with detailed emails outlining the changes and a tentative schedule. In the days leading up to the wedding, I reached out about an updated invoice, as payment was due ten days prior per our contract. When Tara responded with the original invoice, I clarified the changes, but her frustration on the phone was upsetting. While both Tara and the other stylist did an excellent job, the unnecessary stress from communication issues overshadowed the experience leading up to my special day.

I would recommend tara to anyone. She is very responsive and professional. She also is very fun and welcoming, having her on my wedding day made the morning before the wedding so much less stressful. The hair and makeup was beautiful and it lasted all day long. Tara is a wonderful person and I would book with her again without hesitation.

I searched and searched for the perfect makeup artist for my wedding and I definitely succeeded! From the moment I met Tara I knew she was both amazingly talented and extremely kind. My skin has been a huge insecurity since childhood and I pretty much never feel beautiful but on my wedding day I did, as did my bridal party! She was professional, kind, fun, and everyone loved her. Not to mention our makeup looked amazing and stayed all day (and night)

Tara is fantastic! From the start, she was so kind and easy to communicate with. With the trial, she took great care to learn my beauty preferences and also shared all of her tips and expertise to help land the perfect look. I went into the wedding day excited, at ease, and confident! On the big day, she provided such joy and professionalism. I absolutely loved my makeup and felt beautiful- just perfect! The entire crew had so much fun getting glammed up and everyone looked amazing! Cannot recommend her highly enough!

Tara did my hair and makeup for my wedding day, as well as my bridesmaids and mom, and she was wonderful! The trial was very helpful, and Tara made adjustments on everything I asked for. She understood the look I was going for and made sure everything was perfect. She was also calm and kind throughout our hectic wedding morning. I highly recommend working with her!

I have had my makeup done by Tara as a bridesmaid in the past so as soon as I got engaged I knew I had to have her do my wedding makeup. She’s so kind and accommodating and definitely helps you look your best self. I love that she made me look so beautiful and glamorous but I still felt like myself. Also other makeup artists struggle getting a good match on my skin tone but Tara nails it every time. She’s kind and professional and creative, everything you want in a makeup artist.

We loved Tara! She is so sweet and so incredibly talented! I am very picky with my hair and makeup and Tara made me feel so beautiful on my wedding day! All of my bridesmaids were raving about their hair and makeup as well ☺️ She is so patient and kind. Would absolutely recommend. 10/10❤️

I am so happy with how my wedding hair and makeup turned out. Krystle did my makeup and Yashira did my hair and they did an incredible job! They were so fun to work with. We were laughing and talking during my trial as well as the wedding morning. They also answered my questions and were accommodating when I wanted to make changes after the trial. I am so glad I had both these women as a part of my wedding!

Absolutely a dream. Couldn’t ask for anything more!! From the trials to the day of, Tara and her team were the perfect glam squad!! So grateful for them!!

I am very disappointed that I have to leave this review but when I expressed all my concerns to Tara privately she essentially told me everything that went wrong on my wedding day was my fault. I truly hope no other bride goes through what I did and that this review informs someone’s decision. Tara did a great job on my trial makeup. However on the day of my wedding she did something completely different that looked awful. She put giant caterpillar lashes on me even though I expressed to her at my trial I didn’t want them. The day of my wedding when I asked her why she put different ones on when they were not the same as my trial she told me my eye could ‘handle it.’ They immediately started coming off after about an hour and a half. They were awful. She also told me she was going to brighten my lid up a bit with gold then proceeded to just do a totally different eye. I know she’s a talented makeup artist but she just genuinely just didn’t seem interested in trying to recreate a nice look I was comfortable with on my wedding day. She was late finishing up and finished my hair and make up approximately 15 minutes before I was supposed to leave and accordingly there was no time to fix anything. My hair was just bad. While I think, as I said above, that she has the ability to be a good makeup artist, she simply is not a hairstylist. My hair was so bad I pulled it out before I walked down the aisle. When I told her afterwards that I was unhappy with it she told me the style I picked (a simple low bun) was matronly and dated. This is the same style that when I suggested it she loved and said she could easily recreate. Had Tara been professional when I expressed my concerns to her after the wedding I would at least feel a little better. But instead she told me that I should have hired a wedding planner and never even bothered to suggest refunding something as simple as the tip I gave her. Very very disappointing experience overall. Truly colored my feelings about the way I looked on my wedding day in a very negative way.

Tara and her team are amazing. They are so friendly, everyone felt super comfortable with them, and their work is amazing. I truly felt like a princess on my wedding day and everyone kept commenting on how awesome my hair and make up was! Thank you Tara and team!!

Omg Tara and her team were amazing!! I have very thin and fine hair and Tara worked wonders to make it look thick and luscious while still making it look natural. She has this special hair fiber spray that she used to fill in my thin hairline and make it look great. Her make-up skills are really good and she does an amazing job working with different skin types. She does a good job on mature skin, greasy skin, and dry skin and her and her team are able to match skin tones really well. My mom and bridesmaids looked so good and we loved how friendly and knowledgeable Tara and her team were. We loved Tara and highly recommend!!

Tara and her team were the best! They came in the morning of the wedding with positive energy and we’re super efficient with their work. They made a normally anxious bride feel calm, confident and beautiful the morning of her wedding. I’ll be forever grateful for Tara for making the experience so effortless!

Tara was absolutely amazing!! I've never been complimented on my hair and make-up as much as I was that day..She and her helpers were so personable and friendly we all had a ball with them. They made and amazing day that much better!!!

Tara is absolutely amazing to work with! I was worried going into the whole process because I am someone who has minimal experience with makeup. She made myself and my bridesmaids feel so beautiful, and the makeup lasted all night long! My hair is naturally curly and I wanted something different. She helped me pull off the look I was going for and I couldn't be any more thankful for all her help. Highly recommend if you are looking for someone who radiates positive vibes and is a master at her craft!

SO glad that I booked Tara for our wedding hair and makeup. She was so personable and fun to have around and she truly did an amazing job on everyone! I was so nervous to do an updo out of fear it would fall out but Tara did an amazing job and my bun did not move an inch! My makeup stayed perfectly and was gorgeous. My father in law said out of all of our vendors/venue he was most impressed by whoever did my makeup! What a compliment to Tara :)

Where to start! Tara is incredible in every single way. She is an absolute master of her craft. My jaw dropped after my hair and makeup trial, and I asked her "Can you really do it this well again for the wedding?" and she said, "it'll be even BETTER." And she was RIGHT! Each of my bridesmaids looked more beautiful than I could have dreamed, and Tara achieved something so important to me, which was making us each look red-carpet gorgeous while still looking like ourselves. Every makeup look was carefully curated and planned according to each person's unique coloring and facial structure. In addition to her incredible abilities, Tara also was extremely reliable and responsive, reasonable about pricing and timing, and created an atmosphere of relaxation and humor in the bridal suite, consistently putting everyone at ease. The makeup looked great all the way until 2am - without requiring touch ups!! I truly cannot imagine any artist outperforming what Tara delivered for me on my wedding day. It's so important to feel confident, beautiful, and authentic as a bride, and I can't put a price on how effectively Tara delivered that experience for me. THANK YOU TARA!!!

Tara and her team were amazing to work with! Tara was completely booked but hooked us up with other pros on her team—Priscilla for hair and Monica for make up. Not only are these women extremely sweet and kind, but they are also sooo skilled. I’m a bit of a control freak and don’t wear much make up, so I was a little worried about getting my make up done and it being too much. But Monica made me look exactly how I wanted. I looked so natural, summery, light and dewey. It was perfect. All my bridesmaids looked beautiful and i swear my mom looked 10 years younger. Monica is a master!!! And for my hair, I wanted a very specific style, a very textured low, messy, loose bun. Priscilla did just that. It looked exactly like the photos. I was beyond impressed and got SO many compliments on my hair and makeup!! I cannot recommend Tara Matos and her team enough!!

Tara was very understanding, flexible, and cooperative and worked so well with me to help create the perfect look for my wedding day.

I am so incredibly happy with my choice of going with Tara on my wedding day. She was warm, personable, and incredibly talented. She was patient with my girls and had to re-do the style for them twice. My mother-in-law raves about her!! I have gotten so many compliments on my makeup and hair and I truly felt like a princess on my wedding day! 20 stars for her. You won't be dissapointed.

I was mother of the groom. My now daughter in law hired Tara. She was punctual, pleasant and patient! There were 2 active flower girls Tara was able to transform with hair and makeup. The bride looked beautiful! She is young and beautiful anyway. I was most impressed with my outcome. I’m 65 and honestly felt like Cinderella at the ball Thank you Tara

Tara was incredible! She is so talented, kind, and friendly to work with. Even though she had another wedding the same day, she was able to fit me in early in the morning and brought excellent help to do the make up for my bridesmaids. I appreciated her willingness to travel, her attention to detail, and her expertise with adjusting to my makeup needs!

Tara and her team are truly amazing! I originally had hired another group to do hair and make-up for my bridal party and myself, but the trial went terribly so I was in a desperate search for someone else only months before my wedding. Tara responded quickly and listened to all of my requests and concerns during our trial (which was fantastic!). We had a tight wedding day schedule (8 hair/makeups done by 11am), but Tara and her team made it work and everyone looked great! Also, I think it’s important to note that my bridal group was very diverse, and Tara and her team did an excellent job on everybody’s different skin and hair types. I cannot recommend Tara enough.

Tara just recently did the makeup for my wedding. She showed up early, set up quickly and had great time management. I loved that I did not need to worry about if we were going to be done in time. She listened to each and every person about how they wanted their makeup and their individual styles. We all looked AMAZING. She had the best energy and we all had a great time all day.

Tara did hair & makeup for myself and some bridesmaids/family members for my wedding in July 2021. Tara was so responsive and easy to work with. Everyone looked absolutely stunning and each individual was so happy with how their looks turned out. Not to mention, Tara and her assistant were so fun to hang out with while we were getting ready. I have fine/thin hair and opted to wear it down - I was so sweaty during my outdoor ceremony and I can tell you my hair and makeup did not budge at all! I was looking for a glammed up natural look and gave Tara very little direction - and she managed to execute it perfectly! I would absolutely recommend Tara to anyone (she travels too)!

Tara was an absolute joy to work with. She was wonderful for my trial helping me decide when I was unsure, and her recommendations were always on point! She will make you feel like a professional model. The day of the wedding, she and her assistant were there before I was! I could not have been happier with my bridal hair and makeup, I felt absolutely lovely! We had so much fun chatting, laughing, and jamming to music the entire time as we got ready as well! I would absolutely recommend her!

Tara did a wonderful job with everyone's makeup! I had her do makeup for both my engagement photos and wedding! The way that she did the makeup helped it stay on all day, even through the heat. I HIGHLY recommend Tara as a makeup artist!

You will not be disappointed! Makeup and hair is one thing that stressed me out for months! Tara makes the inner queen in you come out! My hair and makeup lasted the entire day/night! And that includes the after party at the hotel! A million thank yous to her and her assistant! You won’t be disappointed! My trial was great, she welcome me and my in laws into her home. After my trial I requested to change up my eye shadow she took notes and kept it for wedding day. And WOW!!!! My own mother was speechless when she saw me! We added a few folks super last minute and Tara adjusted her schedule and made it work. I would hire Tara again for any big events I have! She was amazing!!!!

Tara is so much fun to work with, professional and punctual with a great eye for color and years of experience with the latest techniques. I dont normally wear much face makeup, in fact, I hate it. And I didnt have time to do a trial. But none of that was an issue for Tara. My plan was a colorful bride but Tara tactfully reminded me your wedding day photos aren't like every other night out and we opted for a beautifully timeless smoky neutral that still showed my personality in a gorgeous way! Her skill with airbrush is unmatched! I didn't even feel my face makeup and it didnt need a touch up all day! She found the perfect shade for my fair skin tone and my pictures came out flawless. I think jer greatest skill is she doesn't hide who you are under a mask of makeup. I still felt like 'Me' when I looked in the mirror and I was confident taking photos with all my guests! I look back on my wedding pictures and feel so beautiful! Tara has long list of happy, gorgeous brides for a reason - she's amazing!

Tara was amazing! She really understood my vision. She was really personable. I felt really comfortable and my makeup was on point. I would definitely recommend her. Tara really delivered a great experience. I was running late as the bride. I was stressed but she did her job and I loved my hair and make up.
