MakeupxSamara is a *natural glow* wedding makeup company located in Raleigh, North Carolina. What is a *natural glow* you might ask? Well, after looking through the images on this page, you might notice a theme...natural, radiant, glowy, NEVER CAKEY makeup. And that's not a coincidence. After 5+ years in the industry, owner Samara Perchick has become known for her classically chic and timeless soft-glam style that is recognizable and sought after throughout the Triangle. Her main goal is for clients to look in the mirror and recognize their reflection but feel like an elevated and natural glowy version of themselves.
I think one of the most unique things about my business model is the pricing structure. As a recent bride myself, I don't believe in charging more JUST because you're the bride; in fact, I think it's unfair and borderline ridiculous to do that. I charge the same for EVERY client because I put the same amount of care and focus into each face I have the privelege of working on. Oh, and I also don't charge extra for lashes :).
Another thing that sets my business apart from others you might encounter...I never edit or use filters on ANY pictures of myself or clients, ever. No judgement to those that do but I don't believe in false advertising and I'm personally exhausted of the cookie cutter fake everything look perpetuated (especially to young girls) on social media. What makes us beautiful are our unique differences and my goal is to enhance YOUR unique beauty.

I lovedddd my experience with Samara and her team. She listened to exactly what I wanted as far as doing a very natural glowy look for my wedding day and she nailed it! She asked for feedback after every step which made me feel so comfortable and confident. I didn't do a trial because I was coming in from out of town yet she still made sure we were on the same page the whole time.
I decided to try the Natural Glow Academy with Samara because I have never known how to do my makeup and I decided it was time to learn. I’m so glad I did! I thought it would be overwhelming but Samara is a great teacher and it really stuck. She showed me her techniques on one side of my face and then I did the other side. The makeup looked beautiful and natural. The next day, she sent a detailed step by step guide with links to the products she recommends. The entire process was so easy and I love finally being confident in my makeup abilities!

I had such an amazing experience with Samara- first her skill is phenomenal. I was a 42 year old bride and felt gorgeous, dewy, glowing and natural. She put me and my bridal party at ease and was able to make my friends who wanted more glam to have that, and those wanting lighter touch to have that. She also has an amazing personality and spirit so it added to the joy of the day. She was great with communication and helped me buy the lipstick we were using so I would have it all night. I had a prior makeup trial with another artist that left me worried. With Samara, I was 100% confident that my friends and I would look amazing. And we did. So glad I found her! You should book her asap!
Samara is simply wonderful to work with. As the mother of the bride, I wanted to look great but not "overdone". Samara listened and understood the look I wanted. Samara did my Makeup for a branding photoshoot for my business and it turned out so well. She perfectly accentuated my best features while ensuring I actually look like myself :) I wanted clients to recognize me in person and be able to see what I look like in photos online. Working with Samara was amazing from start to finish. She was responsive, answered all of my questions, made me feel comfortable in her chair and my make up was amazing. I usually am nervous about having my makeup done and not liking the final look, but Samara did a step by step check in to make sure I was happy. I looked natural, glowy, and my makeup lasted forever. I attended her Masterclass demo & was very impressed w/the knowledge Samara shared to improve my appearance & enhance my features. She clearly explained why she used various products but doesn't sell or push any of them. I like that during a class she'll do half of the client's face & let them do the other half.

I would recommend Samara to anyone. I reached out to her because now that I’m approaching 40, my skin feels different and I need a new approach to makeup. She taught me SO much about makeup application and products. I usually shy away from wearing much, because I appreciate a natural look. She helped me create a look/routine that looks so natural and beautiful. I’ve always struggled with dark circles under my eyes and she was able to show me how to fix them without it looking like I caked on concealer. I find choosing makeup colors so daunting, and she was able to match me perfectly.
I also appreciated that she wasn’t tied to one brand or price point. She made flexible recommendations across the board but didn’t try to push or sell me anything. After the lesson she sent me a comprehensive follow-up instruction sheet with what products we used and linked everything. This probably took her hours to put together. She was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Worth every penny!
Samara is magic! She does beautiful makeup that truly feels like a beautiful version of yourself. Your groom and guests will recognize you and just think you are a glowing gorgeous bride. 100% she is the best.

She’s so invested in you looking and feeling like yourself and your best - she’ll start light and take it up as many notches as you feel comfortable with. I LOVE that - I wanted to look as natural as possible on my wedding day - allowing my moles to shine through and she delivered.

I have to be honest, I thought about doing my own makeup for my wedding because I have had so many bad experiences with MUA's at weddings I have been in. I was very skeptical but thank goodness I took a chance on Samara because she is the absolute BEST! She was very responsive and accommodating when it came to scheduling my trial and preparing for my wedding day. She also had great recommendations for skin prep, nails, etc leading up to the wedding day. I knew I wanted a more natural look and she did just that. It lasted ALL night! I have never felt more confident and beautiful than I did on my wedding day. So, if you are considering Samara as your MUA, don't think anymore, just do it! <3
Samara made me feel absolutely gorgeous on my wedding day! Her natural make up style made me look like myself, but more glam, which was just what I wanted. I didn't even feel like I was wearing make up, and it lasted the whole day!

This was the first time I've had my makeup done where I truly felt like the best version of myself. Samara was on time, great with communication & came fully prepared. She was friendly and asked my input during the makeup session and I was so pleased with the results. I've used other makeup artists who glued my eyelashes on crooked or gave me uneven eyeliner and Samara truly made ZERO mistakes. I only wish I knew her sooner!! She will be my go to makeup artist for events going forward.
I couldn’t say enough good things about my experience with Samara. She is incredibly personable and just a joy to be around - from the pre-wedding trial to the 5:30am getting ready time on my wedding day, she was an excellent communicator and responsive to all of the questions/comments/concerns that my bridal party and I had for her.
I’d recommend Samara to every Bride-to-Be wanting to feel pampered and to look like the best version of herself on her wedding day. I can honestly say that I’ve NEVER felt more beautiful in my life than I did on my wedding day! And, most importantly, I still looked like myself! Samara enhances your natural beauty without covering you up in cakey make up like I’ve seen MUAs do to other brides at other weddings to the point where the Bride looked like a completely different person. Myself and every lady in my wedding party were truly glowing, with our best features enhanced- looking like beautifully elevated versions of ourselves.
On the morning of the wedding, Samara showed up early with a friendly and equally talented MUA friend (Genevieve) to help get all 8 women in my bridal party looking glowing, flawless, and beautiful in time for my 10am wedding! Samara and Genevieve were so kind and professional, working in a cramped hotel room with 8 clients, 1 photographer, 1 hair stylist, and my father + others constantly churning in to ask me questions while we were getting ready. She even expertly and politely handled my pushy relatives while she was putting false lashes on me with surgical precision!!
So STOP your search NOW and go with Samara. You’ll be so glad you did! 💕
My daughter and I absolutely loved working with Samara for our event. From the trial run to the big day, and the communication in between, Samara was extremely organized and professional. Neither of us normally wears a lot of makeup and Samara did a fabulous job putting us at ease and really listening to what we wanted. We were thrilled with the end result, which looked amazing both in person and in photos. On top of that, Samara is an absolute joy of a person and we loved spending time with her. We can't recommend her enough!
Samara was amazing to work with! Our wedding group was made up of many women, with different styles, some of who are not used to wearing much, if any, makeup. Also we had no trial run before the wedding, as we were all from out of town. She did an amazing job—she came to the house, brought her own lights and chair, and was able to stay on schedule with the large group, while also sneaking in lashes for my mom and touch ups for my groom.
As a person who is not used to wearing makeup, the end result looked and felt very beautiful and natural.
I would love to have another reason to use Samara's services again and I would highly recommend her for your next event, big or small.
