Maloman and his wonderful assistant Stella are everything you could ask for in a wedding photography team. Professional, fun, friendly, comfortable to be around, and most important...
ly - a visionary perspective and exquisite eye for the profound and the heartwarming moments that everyone wants captured on their big special day. My husband and I got to know them early on after we initially selected them by viewing their portfolio (which was all it took to sell us on them, as the images were jaw-droppingly stunning, lush and glowing). They welcomed us to get to know each other through an early engagement photo shoot (highly recommended) and from their a real trust and friendship bloomed, which proved key for successful photos on wedding day. The day of, they knew exactly what to do without us ever needing to direct them for anything, and they were always present to capture every moment a couple would want captured but never in the way or imposing on the guests or the experience (not that we would've cared, as they were two of the most fun guests of all!!). Stephan also saw things we could never have imagined, but which ultimately came out beautifully in images and with all the high-quality and artistry you'd expect from one of the best in the business. We highly, highly recommend them for your own wedding - there simply aren't enough good things to say about them other than what are you waiting for?!!
We used Maloman Studios for our engagement and wedding photos. We cannot thank Stephan and Stella enough. The photos turned out stunning and really captured authentic moments! The...
y were also incredibly professional, punctual, and a genuinely nice people. They made the entire process easy and fun. I would highly recommend using them for any occasion!
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Maloman Photographers. We had a great experience leading up to the wedding, but then everything fell apart on the day of our wedding at the Boatho...
use in Central Park. First, Candace and I had come up with a schedule for taking photos (getting ready, first look, going to Central Park). We ordered a car service for the wedding party based on this schedule. Then after the first look photos Candace tells me she expected that the bride and groom would go to the park first (30 minutes before the rest) and of course we had not reserved a car for that time because it was not on the schedule. So we wasted 20 minutes trying to get a cab and during this time no pictures were taken - Stephan did not adapt to the circumstances and take photos at the hotel where we had gotten ready; we all just sat there in the lobby. Stephan, my husband and I then got in a cab and finally headed to the park. And that's when the worst happened - Stephan left all his equipment (other than the camera around his neck) in the cab. It was too late once he realized it, and he wasted another 30 minutes trying to track down the cab - again, no photos taken during this time. Luckily he had a second photographer with some of the same gear, but this second photographer did not show up for 30 minutes (he was still at the hotel), and he was still missing some equipment. For example, there was no reflector and because the wedding was inside and a flash was required, the photos were negatively affected (Stephan even asked my father, who has some photography experience, if he had a reflector). After the wedding, there were communications between me and Candace, and my husband and Candace about what had happened. Candace insisted there was no effect on the photos, but this is false. We have fewer than 700 pictures for 9 hours of work - much less than expected. There are no pictures of me alone in my dress (which Candace blamed on it raining; she gave no explanation for why pictures could not be taken inside the Boathouse - a lovely venue). The indoor pictures with a flash have shadows and reflections that would have been avoided if the equipment (in particular, the reflector) were not lost. Candace became defensive and the only compensation we received for their mistakes was $200 in free prints. The unprofessional response to their own mistakes is why I cannot recommend them.
Stephan and Candice are a great husband and wife team. They know exactly how to capture the moment and took some truly amazing photos that we will cherish forever. They were easy...
-going during the getting ready sessions and were fast and efficient during formals and portraits. We appreciated how subtle they were during the party and ceremony, we barely noticed they were there until our beautiful photos came back! Definitely splurge on a photographry team like Maloman! You will not be sorry once you see all your memories captured so perfectly.
I've known for the past few years that I would hire Maloman as the photographer for my special celebration, as I had worked with them in a professional setting (mind you, this was ...
before I was even dating my now-husband :)). Stephan and Candace are amazing to work with and so incredibly talented, artistic and passionate about the art of photography. We couldn't be happier with our beautiful photographs from the wedding. Photography is such an important aspect of a wedding, and I would highly recommend hiring Maloman if you are looking for high quality, editorial-style wedding photography!
The reason that I chose this photographer in the first place was because I fell in love with some of his work. The way that he captured scenes as a whole really spoke to me. He d...
id a great job on both my budoir shoot and engagement shoot and I love the photos and will enjoy them forever. His style of photography is "editorial" and while that sounds sexy and innovative, it turned out to be not what I wanted for my wedding day. I didn't feel like he captured the soft, romantic, intimate side of our wedding. He calls himself an artist and is not the easiest person to work with, however, his wife and partner is very friendly and easy going. A good thing about him and his team is that on the wedding day, you feel that they are extremely unintrusive, so much so that you forget that they are there. I really loved that on the day of, but looking back at the pictures I felt that they actually missed a lot because they weren't right up in our faces capturing the up-close moments and interactions. What we didn't like was that any criticism or suggestion that was given to him on the day of, like how to arrange people in the formal pictures, was met with resistance and ego. Because of this our formal pictures with our bridal party and families turned out to be disorganized and disjointed. In the end, his style was just not right for our wedding. Some of his pictures came out beautifully but the majority were not to our liking and we feel like we really missed out. We just never "clicked" with him and we feel like he didn't capture us as a couple. Maybe his style just wasn't for us and would be perfect for someone else who likes the "editorial" style better but I would not recommend them to my friends for their weddings.
Maloman Photographers are true professionals!! I guarantee your images will be spectacular! Love them!!
