Our wedding was a herculean task. We chose to get married on our rural family farm, over an hour away from civilization, dirt one-lane roads, sporadic electricity, and a bridge that threatened to crumble at any minute. In addition, as a couple, our opposites-attract, introvert meets extrovert, personalities caused us to envision and want vastly different kinds of celebrations. In so many ways, the lack of local resources and our divergent priorities for the wedding, made us a considerable challenge for any planner… but not Jamie. She not only made our wedding a reality, she allowed for our wedding to become everything we had dreamed. I truly believe that Jamie executed a wedding that would have been impossible for any other professional. And I believe that she was capable because has the most unexpected and unlikely pairing of logistical excellence and empathy. I’ve never met anyone who has an incredible talent for executive functioning, communication, and designing plans while still maintaining a deep appreciation and intuition for human emotion, imagination, and artistry. She toiled to find us the right staff, support, systems, resources and solutions because she understood that our unique vision for our wedding, would become a shared experience that could tell the narrative of who we were, not as individuals, but as a united couple. Jamie recognized that our goals and the process of how everything came to be, was in some ways, the first steps into the start of our marriage. That the days and months talking, scheduling, debating, and imagining how to celebrate our wedding, is just as much a part of the wedding as the wedding day. And above all, Jamie appreciated that every detail was imbued with meaning, symbolism, loss, acceptance, memories, family, hope, celebration and promise.
