Went for a cake tasting and picked a yummy flavor for my engagement party. We ordered the cake and picked it up on the day of the party. It looked beautiful. When it was served 8 hours later (outside of the fridge) it was rock solid and nearly tasteless. The flavor was not the same one I tried. Not sure if there was an error when baking it or a missed ingredient, but it was dry, crumbly, and tasted like nothing. There was a lot left over and I tried eating it the next day, but it was so bad we had to toss it. Our loved ones suggested we call the bakery and tell them what happened so this doesn’t happen again. We called and said we would get a call back, which is fine, but they never called.
They were absolutely amazing to work with! From the cake tasting all the way through the wedding the excellent customer service and attention to detail was incredible. All our guests not only raved about the delicious taste, but also how beautiful it was as well. Highly recommended to all brides!!!
Our son was married 7/17 and Cindy and her team created the perfect, most delicious wedding cake. She was so helpful and it made our son and daughter in laws amazing wedding even better. Thank you so much
I can't say anything less than absolutely perfect and amazing!!! Like most brides i had a wedding board on another site and a chandelier hanging cake was my vision for my wedding. I went to multiple bakeries feeling stressed and disappointed but when I went to Manhattan bakery it was just the opposite. They saw the picture took on the challenge of my request told me what needed to be done and the day of my wedding the perfect cake was delivered. It looked exactly how I wanted it to and tasted amazing!!!! This bakery by far is the best!!
Anyone who has ever been to Manhattan Sweets knows that their desserts are not only delicious, but also beautiful. Unfortunately, my experience with them on my wedding day did not match my previous opinions of them. The first problem that occured was that they delivered my cake and cupcakes three hours early. Because it was so much earlier than I ordered them for, my caterer was not there yet to accept the delivery so they sat in the July heat because my venue was outdoors. Needless to say, they were a melted mess by the time we served them 8 hours later. The second problem with my order was the flimsy cupcake tower I bought from them. When my husband and I attempted to cut the small cake on top, the tower nearly toppled over on top of us and our guests. Because of this, my caterer had to hold the tower up as we cut the cake and is now in all of my pictures. After the wedding I went to the bakery to speak to someone in person about my complaints. The girl was very nice and apologized to me for the problems. She told me that she would have the owner call me when she got in and unfortunately, I am still waiting for that call three weeks later.
Most importantly, the cake was delicious! I was worried that I would have trouble finding a cake that looked great and tasted great, but I'm glad I found this bakery. The woman took the time to talk with me right away. I showed her a picture of a design I liked and thought would look nice. They had a very large selection of cakes, fillings, and icings. They offered to do custom fillings and combinations of flavors. I chose to have a 3-tier round cake which had white cake and lemon pudding filling on the bottom, chocolate cake with raspberry mousse in the middle, and carrot cake with cream cheese filling on the top. The icing was a very light buttercream and the design was exactly what I asked for. The delivery was only $20. The cake held up all day and I only got compliments on both the flavor and presentation.
