Marc Topaz Music and Entertainment

Marc and his band are top notch musicians. He came to meet with us twice before the wedding, and really got a feel for what we were looking for. Marc was honest with us if he felt his team couldn't play a song to really sound like the original, which I appreciated. The band sounded amazing (people were talking about it for days after!), and they had a good selection of old and new songs. I would have preferred a little more “today’s top hits” or "upbeat music" but they played well to the crowd and by the end of the night had everyone on the dance floor. I highly recommend them!

There is no doubt that Marc and his musicians are talented, but we had a massive issue with how Marc conducted business. Besides trying to charge us 350 dollars for our officiant to use his microphone, and then convincing us that we needed to pay extra for an additional horn player, he screwed up our reception introductions (never announced the groom's sister and brother in law), skipped father/daughter and mother/son dances, disregarded most of our song request list, and almost skipped the maid of honor speech (I had to q the band to stop the music myself). We had a jewish and italian wedding and requested both a hora and italian music...not one italian request was made. The band and dj sounded great, but for the money you pay Marc, I highly recommend going with a more reliable service. People are human and make mistakes but this was one thing after another. Marc did nothing to fix the situation, never offered an apology, and showed zero regard for the very people that have hired him not once, but twice! The least he could have done is acknowledge the mistakes and offered to come up with a solution. On top of it all, I was told directly by our wedding coordinators that they didn't agree with how Marc handled the situation and would refrain from recommending his services to future clients.

Our wedding was in early June, 2012 in New York City on a seventh floor, outside terrace with a spectacular view of Times Square. We asked Marc and his band to perform a selection of some very customized music at our ceremony and also perform at our reception. We simply could not have made a better choice. Marc was wonderful to work with during the planning process and throughout our wedding day. He is as professional, responsive, ethical and respectful as he is talented and trust me, he and the all the band members are very, very talented. Because our ceremony was to be held outside we were on edge about the weather until the very last minute. We had to decide if we would have the ceremony outside as we wanted or move it inside. The florist, the chair rental people, the carpet installers, the AV people, the hotel people etc. were all waiting our decision. Throughout the day Marc was as involved with helping us make the right decision as we were ourselves. He stayed right on top of the changing minute to minute weather forecast and offered informed and confident guidance. As we spoke with Marc throughout the day it was very clear to us that Marc was looking out for our best interest and our desire to have the wedding outside. He was cooperative and very helpful. At about 1:00 PM we made the decision to have the 6:30 PM ceremony outside on the terrace. While we were nervous about the decision Marc helped us feel more comfortable with this key and risky decision. In the end, the forecasted rain held off and the weather for the ceremony and the rest of the night was absolutely beautiful. At one point during the ceremony the clouds parted and a ray of sunlight lit up the ceremony area, the minister and John and me with a laser like beam from heaven. It was truly magical. Marc performed the customized ceremony music flawlessly, never missing a queue. His timing was perfect. Marc handled the various customary introductions and announcements during the wedding dinner without a miss. Later at the reception, Marc MC’d a party that all who attended will never forget. The band was energetic and their music rivaled the original performers of each of the many songs they performed. They were absolutely terrific. to top it off each of the band members are very nice people. We could not be more pleased with Marc and the band. They were simply wonderful and were a big reason why we had the perfect wedding that we did. Marc, please share this message with each of the band members. People really loved the music at my wedding. Marc was quick to change the game plan when the wedding ran late and was very communicative throughout the whole process.
