We worked with their team for our wedding in NY and everything was perfect. From the start we knew there was nothing to stress about & that we were in good hands — and they delivered!

Olga at Marcey Brownstein was incredible to work with! She was attentive, creative with her solutions, and extremely organized. On top of that, the food was delicious! Our guests raved about it all night. Would definitely recommend.

This review is really split into two groups: food and service. The food was fantastic. The passed appetizers in particular were delicious. We had a set delivered to the bridal suite after the ceremony and got to taste all of them. After the day, we received tons of compliments, with everyone having a different favorite. The team was also accommodating when we needed to add a vegan option last minute (at no cost). The service has some room for improvement. Unfortunately, we often felt at odds with both Leslie (who left the company between when we booked Marcey Brownstein Catering and the wedding day) and Marcey (who took over after Leslie’s departure), often having to strongly advocate for what we wanted. With both Leslie and Marcey, it felt as though they were pushing for what would simply be easiest for their team, rather than trying to work with us to make our vision come to life. The first few times, we acquiesced, trusting they were doing what was best for our wedding. However, as time went on, we realized we weren’t being put first. We started pushing back more, seeing that we needed to if we wanted to get what we actually wanted for our wedding. This happened across multiple instances, such as pre-ordering the menu vs at the table, choosing the table setting, and timing details on the day of. We’d highly recommend Marcey Brownstein Catering from a food perspective and for those who prefer to defer and have someone provide strong guidance. But if you plan on being pretty prescriptive on what you want, we’d suggest coming in with a strong point of view and making sure to advocate for yourself throughout the process.

My daughter’s Brooklyn, NY wedding was just perfect, and in large part thanks to Olga at Marcey Brownstein Catering. Olga was one of the very first people I spoke to when my daughter got engaged and with her guidance, I easily assembled a dream team of vendors — wedding planner, florals & lighting, and of course, Marcey Brownstein Catering, which is truly a next-level culinary experience. This is not your typical wedding food! From a poke bar to mini falafel and bao buns to upscale fresh pasta and branzino and amazing signature cocktails — and Kosher-style too!! — everyone who attended our wedding told us that this was the BEST wedding food they’ve ever had. Besides the delicious fare, Olga’s impeccable hospitality the level of customer service she and her team provide ensured that the food and beverage service at our party was seamless and free-flowing. Just as importantly, throughout the entire planning process, Olga’s calming, can-do manner allowed us to truly be a guest at our own event and be fully present for ever magical moment.

Working with Leslie and her team from MB was such an amazing experience - to start, the food was AMAZING. We continue to have guests 3 weeks later telling us how much they loved the food and that it was the best they've ever had. Every app and every dish was so thoughtfully and deliciously prepared (and beautifully plated too!). Additionally, MB made the entire process fun, and from the tasting to finalizing the menu details, they were on top of it all. My husband and I wanted to bring a few elements of our culture into the menu, and MB tested different recipes until they found one that worked, and they were so flexible and happy to customize as needed. We were amazed by their ability to replicate our traditional dishes, and so grateful that they put in the effort to do so. Finally, their service on the day of was impeccable - they were so courteous (we even had guests comment on this!) and made sure our guests' glasses were always full. MB even had one server dedicated as our right hand person and made sure me and my husband had everything we needed (when we wanted a drink, he was there!). Would 100% recommend Marcey Brownstein to anyone!

Olga was a pleasure to work with and the food was outstanding. Most weddings I have been to are a success if the food is not terrible; with Olga, that was far from the case! So many of our guests have commented on how phenomenal the food was, both at the cocktail hour and the main course. Olga was so personable and helpful along the way as we had to make some quick decisions and needed guidance, and I would absolutely recommend their team to anyone looking to throw a memorable & delicious event!

Working with Olga was an incredible experience. She was extremely professional and catered to all of our requests. There was nothing they weren't willing to do! Olga also helped us with our rentals for our tables, glassware, etc. She was such a pleasure to work with. If you are using Marcy Brownstein Catering, ask for Olga I can't recommend her and her staff enough!

Marcey Brownstein and her team (Olga, our planner) recently planned our intimate wedding and handled the catering. To say they were top notch is an understatement. In terms of event planning, we had a small wedding (~20 ppl) and they handled all aspects of the planning - rentals, florals, A/V, day-of coordination, etc. They were extremely thoughtful and detail-oriented on all accounts including nuanced safety protocol for COVID related items. The day could not have gone more smoothly and all of our guests felt extremely comfortable and taken care of. In terms of catering, we had a fully kosher event and the team served the most delicious food and provided full kosher supervision. We can't speak more highly of our experience.

Marcey Brownstein was the perfect caterer for our wedding at The Foundry. Leslie Russell (our event manager and main contact from the firm) is an expert in her craft and knows how to throw a party that our guests described as “Magical,” “The Best Ever,” and with “amazing food.” We knew Marcey Brownstein was our choice following our initial meeting with Leslie—she made us feel warm and welcomed, taking each and every desire we had about the wedding and making it come to life. The food and service provided by Marcey Brownstein are simply impeccable. She was able to make our dream Katz’s Deli Display and Raw Bar come to life during the cocktail hour, in addition to a seated dinner that was divine. It is almost too difficult to put into words how incredible Leslie and her team were on our special day. We were truly guests at our event. If you want a caterer who will not only do anything for you in making your wedding dreams come true, but also execute on it flawlessly—work with Leslie and Marcey Brownstein. And if you’re having your event at The Foundry—Marcey Brownstein should be the only option as they are the experts at this venue.

From start to finish, a delicious and unique dinner experience wouldn’t have been possible without Marcey’s flexibility during the planning process. Seamlessly integrating a family style serving at our request, custom cocktails and non-traditional desserts - Marcey helped us shape our dinner into something people talked about the morning after. With a deep bench of menu options, we appreciated Marcey talking us through how dishes could work together or be approached differently. Having bases in NYC and Hudson Valley meant that Marcey could easily attend in-person meetings at the venue or with our planner - a huge plus for anyone looking to get married upstate. The moment we knew our guests would be in for a treat was right after our ceremony. Before cocktails started, and almost immediately, Marcey’s team greeted us with both of our custom cocktails and a full plate of all the appetizers being passed to our guests. That special gesture set the tone for our evening and we felt reassured that our guests would enjoy the thoughtful menu Marcey helped us put together. The five-star quality of food and service paired with an amazing, fun-to-work-with team makes Marcey Brownstein Catering & Events the obvious choice.

We were recommended to Marcey's team by our wedding planner. He sent us three suggestions, but told us we should really start here, we wouldn't be disappointed. We started on the phone with Olga, sharing our vision and thoughts. Next thing I knew we received our quote with our sample menu. We loved the menu. It was such a great representation of what we had discussed on the phone. Our tasting took place at their offices. When we walked in they had set the table based on inspiration from our wedding Pinterest. Dinner plates featured on our Pinterest were actually on the table. It felt like we were at a wedding. They served us the appetizers and main course as if it was the day of. Olga was so open to our opinions and ideas. From that point on, we knew we were in amazing hands. We went back and forth on menu and with only a few weeks to go, I had a brilliant idea to change from a buffet to seated dinner. I was terrified to share my idea as I thought it was too last minute, but Olga was totally on board and we adjusted the menu to fit the new concept. I found myself calling Olga for her opinions just because she was so calming to speak to. On the day of the wedding we were caught up in a whirlwind and this next portion of the review comes from our guests.... The following day, our guests could not stop talking about the quality of the food and service. It was amazing, was all we kept hearing. Every table was served their meals at exactly the same time, ensuring no one had to wait to eat. A fun story shared by a friend of ours was when one of our guests was enthralled in telling a story, his hands were talking, his arms were flailing, but it was time to switch from the salad course to the entree. The server snuck in mid arm flailing to seamlessly swap out the plates. We were told our guest was shocked to look down and find his entree waiting at the end of his story. They are a fantastic and professional team. The food was incredible, the service was incredible, and there was amazing attention to detail. Highly Recommend!

I had a barn wedding in the Catskills. I needed Kosher-style for about 200 people. Marcey created a perfect menu of fresh, seasonal food, much of which was cooked on-site. She created adorable passed hors d'oeuvres (mini lamb burgers, mini chicken and waffles, etc) and elegant main courses with family-style vegetarian elements. The food was delicious and looked beautiful. The servers were superb, super-friendly and incredibly efficient. Bartenders were amazing; everyone loved them. Marcey worked with all of my vendors, made great recommendations, and was able to perfectly bring to life my total dream wedding. Highly recommended.

Sue Parillo of Marcey Brownstein Catering did an amazing job for my daughter’s wedding. My daughter lives across the country, which we thought would make planning difficult, but Sue got us organized from beginning to end. She arranged a food tasting, gave us guidance on the logistics involved in planning for the use of loft space, found the cake and orchestrated every detail during the wedding. Sue was easily available by phone and email for all of the last minute items that come up. On the wedding day, Sue and her team took care of everything from setup and breakdown, to perfectly timed plated food service. Having Sue enabled us to relax before and during the wedding and the food was impeccable.

Leslie was my life saver throughout the whole process, not even with just the food, but literally everything. She's so great at what she does and is very knowledgeable about the whole industry. Last minute, she found me wine grapes for my wedding cake because the winery couldn't use their own. She kept us calm and whatever we needed, it was done in no time. Not to mentioned the food was AMAZING!!! The menu was exactly what we had in mind-- classy, different, seasonal, and catered toward our own tastes, and the presentation was flawless. Highly recommend!!

Marcey Brownstein delivered delicious and gorgeous food and was an absolute pleasure to work with. They catered our wedding in August at 632 on Hudson. I have celiac disease and was nervous about finding a caterer who not only could provide a tasty gluten free menu, but also understand the strict requirements to avoid cross contamination. We emailed many high end caterers, and each time got response ranging from “no we cannot do a gluten free wedding” to “we can do gluten free food but we are not sure about preventing contamination”. Marcel Brownstein immediately responded that they understood exactly what we needed, and had experience catering gluten free events for celiac guests. We wanted a cocktail style party for 120 guests, and really did not want the typical chicken or fish wedding food. We are big foodies and eat mostly local, organic food. The style and quality of dishes felt like eating in your favorite local restaurant. Our venue was atypical, being a townhouse with multiple floors and Leslie walked us through every step, assuring us they could deliver the perfect evening. We crafted a gorgeous menu with her, within our budget. The whole experience from our initial meeting to the wedding was fantastic, Leslie even took time to give us tips on wedding planning which was well beyond her role as our catering vendor. Our favorite part was the tasting where we actually had time to try all of the amazing food and have a fun evening with Leslie! The wedding exceeded our expectations, the food and cocktails were perfect, and Leslie and her team handled everything seamlessly throughout the evening. Our guests were blown away and we could not be happier to have worked with Marcey Brownstein. We look forward to using them for future events.

For any brides and grooms looking for an amazing caterer who makes you feel like family - look no further; Marcey Brownstein Catering & Events is five star. Marcey, Olga, Leslie, and their staff are truly the best in their craft. From day one, they worked with us to make sure the food, cocktails, and table decor were perfect for our cocktail style wedding and within budget. They even reassured our traditional parents on multiple occasions that our non-traditional wedding style would be fabulous! Their professionalism and knowledge of not only catering, but all facets of the wedding, was always greatly appreciated and helped to put our minds at ease during the planning process. For example, although we were having a cocktail style reception, we were sold on having 8 -10 person round tables. Marcey and Olga tactfully talked us out of this idea at our tasting and explained why. Not only were we on board, but our aforementioned parents were as well. The end result was a perfect amount of table seating and lounge seating that did not derail the party atmosphere we were trying to create. They were also able to acquire sequin tablecloths that we rented, went above and beyond at tying in all of the elements of our vintage travel wedding, and get us the most delicious wedding cake as a last minute add. Our 6.04.16 wedding couldn’t have been more perfect thanks to Olga and the team! Olga was super attentive and accommodating to our needs the entire night. The waitstaff was always available while remaining stealth and the bartenders were top-notch and kept up with the crowd effortlessly. Almost three months later and our guests are still talking about the yummy food and drinks - especially the steak, the Kentucky Mules, and the cookies and milk shooters! Olga, Marcey, and Leslie - thank you for everything! You are true professionals who worked seamlessly among all of our vendors, and we couldn’t be happier.

As the mother of the bride with two weddings within 9 months, I have now worked with many, many vendors! We started our search with the preferred vendors of our venue, which was a bit complicated logistically. While several of the responses were fairly "cookie cutter," from the beginning, Marcey's were thoughtful and personal. Even, her earliest responses attempted to address the two different cultures of our families as well as the dietary restrictions of the bride (gluten free) and her allergy prone family! Marcey was creative and flexible and worked with us to stay within our budget....until we decided otherwise! I think I many have enjoyed the wonderful tasting dinner the most, as I then tried every single menu item, where as during the wedding I missed some of those delicious treats! Her staff was lovely and attentive and handled the complicated venue and logistics. If there were issues, I never heard about them and our guests enjoyed a magical evening in New York City! I look forward to working with Marcey sometime in the future at another special event. It was a pleasure!

Olga, and the staff at Marcey Brownstein absolutely saved our wedding and created a magical day that we will never forget. We lost our first caterer, and Olga jumped on board quickly and fully with only two months to go. Even after our wedding planner (who we would NOT recommend) told her the wrong date, she manages to calmly and quickly rebook everyone. All of our guests told us that it was the best wedding food they have ever had (my husband and I agree). Not only that, but Olga acted as a wedding coordinator that day a well. She organized the times with all our vendors, made sure the room looked absolutely perfect, and ran the day smoothly. She was so responsive and loving the entire time leading up to the wedding as well as the day of. I wish I could give her more than five stars!! If you want your special day to go smoothly, look gorgeous and leave your guests with delicious food in their stomachs, then Marcey Brownstein catering and events is the way to go. Laura Benanti

Leslie Russell and her team truly made our wedding better than we had ever imagined. We fell in love with the food from the first tasting and agreed that it tasted like what we would order at a nice restaurant and was sooo much better than standard wedding food. Leslie was almost psychic, curating a menu for us that exactly matched what we wanted, even before she ever met us. On our wedding day, Leslie's team were so welcoming and friendly and beamed at us the whole day while wishing us well and congratulating us. Leslie herself managed to oversee the set-up and food prep and coordinate all the moving parts of the wedding while at the same time finding time to check in with me and help to calm me down before the ceremony. During the dinner, her servers presented the food so professionally that my husband(!!) and I kept pausing mid-bite to watch them put the food down on tables. They were also very attentive to everyone's needs during the meal and I even noticed that they observed our guests during dinner and if they noticed that a centerpiece was obstructing conversation, they would swoop in and move it out of the way. The food was as extraordinary as we expected from the tasting and all our guests raved about it. Along with choosing a groom and a venue, I think that choosing a caterer is what can really make or break a wedding. I would never hesitate to recommend Marcey Brownstein (and Leslie Russell) to any bride!
