hen searching for a photographer was to choose based on personality, which is so important since you spend so much of your day (and the most emotional moments) with your photographer. Marcus had us instantly comfortable in front of the camera for both the engagement and wedding photos. He scheduled multiple check-in calls to walkthrough the timeline, family photo lists, and every detail, which made the day seamless. Our guests went out of their way to compliment Marcus for his great energy, presence, and commitment - incl joining on the dance floor capturing it all. Marcus also brought together the dream team - recommending our wonderful videographer (Grayter Memories) as well as bringing a fantastic second shooter, Nick Sullivan. While pricing wasn’t our deciding factor, we appreciated how affordable Marcus was compared to others we researched. We never had to sacrifice anything that mattered to us (engagement shoot, 2nd shooter, full-day coverage, etc.), and still received a top-tier, thoughtful, and organized experience from start to finish.

s was always incredibly responsive and tried to get an understanding of who we were as a couple, and then work with that. He kept reminding us that it was our day and whatever we were after, he would work to deliver. We did our engagement photos with Marcus and he was able to capture us so perfectly. He could see when a certain pose was uncomfortable and never forced anything. On the wedding day, Marcus was on time, extremely professional, and open to any suggestions as we had them. He worked really well with our other vendors and I never had to worry about if he was in the right place to get a great shot or not. He went above and beyond to help us set up for our guests attending virtually, and to help our family member who was also our videographer and who was flying in and didn't have all the equipment she needed. At the event he was completely unobtrusive, but was also warm and friendly to everyone who interacted with him. He got our portraits done in record time, too! After the wedding he sent us our pictures very quickly, and was incredibly responsive to our requests. Oh, and the best part? He was totally affordable, and his rate was the best we saw (and we looked extensively). You CANNOT go wrong with Marcus, and will have a ton of fun working with him too.

He took the time to ask us what kind of photos we wanted—whether more formal, candid, or playful—and helped us pick locations, figure out the best time for lighting, and gave helpful suggestions on what to wear. We ended up with so many great photos that the hardest part was choosing which ones to print!
Marcus was professional, super responsive, and kept everything running smoothly as we moved between locations in DC. It honestly felt like we were just hanging out with a friend who happened to be taking amazing pictures. He was also incredibly understanding about our privacy preferences and quickly adjusted the contract to make sure our photos wouldn’t be used for marketing—no hassle at all. o, and he talked us through several possible wedding timelines and what his role in each would look like. We also did engagement photos with him, which let us get to know him a little better. Both of us can look awkward in photos, but he made us so comfortable that we both look relaxed and happy. On our wedding day, Marcus was a tour de force; he helped keep everyone on schedule while still keeping it fun and light, and was just a truly joyful presence. We just got our photos back last week and they look great! We’re still choosing which ones we want printed in our album (sorry Marcus!) because so many of them turned out really well. Everything about working with Marcus is LOVELY — from the first phone call, to our engagement photos, to our elopement photos. I was initially anxious about hiring a photographer, ...
especially since (1) I had no idea where to start and (2) we were eloping so these were going to be *the* thing to mark the day. He was my first phone call and within 5 minutes of talking to him I was sold. I only had two broad (vague) ideas for what I wanted and he took them and turned them into plans I could be excited about.
Ultimately, our engagement photos involved a last minute location change and our elopement photos ended up needing a schedule change. Marcus was nothing but responsive and encouraging through everything. He was ready with new ideas and managed to keep me excited when I'd have otherwise been really stressed. I’m not sure anyone else would have been so flexible while also staying so warm and kind. And of course, the photos are gorgeous. He manages to talk to you and make you laugh and feel like you’re just hanging out while also capturing a thousand (literally) photos. The last time my husband or I had professional photos taken we were probably in high school, but Marcus was a pro at making us feel comfortable. His eye is great and he sees things we’d have never thought of, to beautiful results. I’ve already told my husband when we need photos for anything in the future, we’re calling Marcus. 12/10 recommend. Giving him glowing reviews is going to be my new hobby, and if you work with him it’ll be yours too.

to recommend several scenic spots for beautiful background. Marcus arrived early, scouted the areas and planned the routes - this small gesture left a big impact on us as we don't have to stress on where and how to go from one location to another. We don't have to think about anything - just enjoy ourselves being photographed by him!
It was so easy to deal with him from the start and he made us comfortable with him, his communication was seamless and he scheduled time to get to know us and our expectations. He explained his pricing and turnaround time and I must say that it is very worth it to have him as our photographer because his photos are beautifully and tastefully done and the turnaround time is so quick. We hope to work with him again in the future!

What really blew us away, though, was everything that went into making the final product. Marcus’s attention to detail, communication, and care throughout the process was so impressive. He sat with me on a call to piece together our vision, worked through different pricing proposals to ensure we were comfortable, and even scouted out the location to ensure he could capture the day perfectly. Our guests loved how he was able to draw out and capture our joy with his charisma - everyone loved working with him. you’re thinking….this will be a biased review! Why wouldn’t he give anything but 5 stars all around?!! That could be true.
BUT…For me…the memories that Marcus has helped capture with his photos….is PRICELESS.
You’re probably thinking I get free photos…NOPE. I have Marcus treat and charge me as he would for any other customer.
He has done my wedding, three family shoots, my step-daughters graduation pictures, and he’ll be my photographer for any photography needs moving forward. His pictures are on my work laptop, phone, and in custom frames all over our house.
I would recommend him 100 out of 100 times and I’m sure if Steve Harvey survived 100 people they say the same.

Marcus was the PERFECT choice for capturing the spirit and beauty of our wedding day! Everyone who has seen my photos has been totally blown away by the quality of his work.
Not only that, but working with Marcus was truly wonderful. He’s incredibly kind and professional, and he made me feel like I was in good hands from day one. I had a few shots that I knew I wanted to get and not only was he receptive to my ideas, he also suggested a lot of shots I would have never thought about (and loved!).
Working with Marcus on the actual day of our wedding was basically just like hanging out with a friend who happened to be a world-class photographer. He was a special talent for making people feel comfortable in front of the camera with his gentle demeanor and easy laughter.
