Mari is a violinist of great acclaim who has performed across Europe and the East Coast of the United States. Regularly featured in publications, she has an extensive repertoire ranging from traditional classics to exciting contemporary music.
Mari uses her talent and experience to tell a story with music. Since she is part of a string quartet, Carolina Primrose, she can offer to play solo or ensemble pieces. No matter what you opt for, you can be assured that she will take exceptional care to ensure your day is as perfect as possible.
Mari can provide music from 30 minutes prior to the ceremony to seating to the postlude. Your walk down the aisle will be nothing short of enchanting, and your exit as newlyweds will equally be magical. Although her services are oriented towards the ceremony, additional services can be availed for the first dance, reception, and cocktail hour. More recently, Mari has added an electric violin as well as an amp and backing tracks to her variety of services!

Mari Hashimoto is a professional violinist and violist based in Western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina. 20+ years of performing has led Mari to performances in Europe and throughout the East Coast of the United States. She has performed for the National ASTA conference in the past and has also been featured on CanvasRebel as well as Classical Jabber. With her training and experience, she enjoys telling stories with music, and loves to perform lecture recitals, which has led her to start chamber concert series.

She was very attentive and though there was some pause in communication due to the hurricane, she made sure to make me feel like that everything would be OK, and it was! Great musician and amazing person.

Mary was extremely professional with my wedding process, we initially had planned to get married in Asheville NC, but the hurricane Helene destroyed our plans exactly 1 month before our big day. We had to redo the whole wedding in Charlotte. Mary never gave up on us, she always made me feel secure that she will be there for us. I highly recommend her services if you desire a classic and beautiful wedding.

Mari was outstanding and I am so glad that I found her for our intimate vineyard wedding. Her communication was great in the months leading up to the wedding, she offered a large variety of music to choose from, her pricing is fair, and she is a very talented musician. She received many compliments from our guests throughout the night and she even took a few requests from our guests. 10/10 recommend!

Mari was excellent at communication from the day of booking up until the day of the event. Every question I ever had she answered in a timely manner. 100% recommend, having her for the ceremony was just what I envisioned and made it perfect!

Mari is phenomenal! Not only does she play the violin excellently, she also was there for us every step of the way from the moment we booked her to even after the wedding. She let us know her repertoire (which is vast). She had most songs we wanted already! However, we have a few others we were interested in. and specifically, I had a somewhat complicated request for her as my bridal party and I walked down the aisle. She played it flawlessly! I’m so thankful for her making the day special for us! She’s wonderful!

Mari was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. She was very responsive to questions and requests throughout the process. We had a destination wedding at the Biltmore in Asheville, NC and she made the process so easy to plan from long distance. She created a violin cover of one of our favorite songs and her performance was beautiful. We would definitely recommend Mari for anyone looking for a skilled and professional violinist.

If you are looking for elegant music, I highly recommend Mari! She is incredibly talented, quick with her response, and so easy to work with! She even learned a song that I have always wanted played for my wedding ceremony and she sent me several recorded versions and scheduled a call with me to ensure I was happy. We loved that she had a wide range of music to choose from and everyone we spoke too had such positive comments regarding her music during our wedding ceremony! We HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Mari!!

Mari is a gem to work with! She is very organized and prepared which helped us feel less stressed on our big day. Her lovely violin playing was definitely a top favorite wedding day moment of ours and our guests too! We had a Legend of Zelda themed wedding and she was able to play all of the songs we wanted during our ceremony. 10/10 service; totally recommend!

Working with Mari was an absolute pleasure! She delivered a stunning performance during our ceremony, offering a wide variety of songs to choose from. She went above and beyond, collaborating seamlessly with a local harpist for a beautiful duet. Her communication was excellent, making the song selection, day of planning and payment process easy. I was incredibly fortunate to find Mari about six months before our Daughter’s wedding. When we started to plan for music, we realized that having a violinist perform at the wedding would be so wonderful, dreamy and extremely memorable! So, we found Mari and contacted her! She responded right away… we had so many questions and corresponded over many emails and texts!…even adding a guitarist to play along with her! She was always extremely kind and professional… prompt and gracious with her communication! She coordinated everything for us and was happy to later change from playing with a guitarist to a Harpist! The performance was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I wish we could give 10 Stars! If you’re considering hiring a violinist, you MUST contact Mari!

We chose ViolinMari to provide a violin-viola duo for our wedding and cocktail hour, and we couldn't have been happier with the choice! Leading up to the event, Mari was proactive and professional with communications. She worked with us to help us choose the perfect songs for our ceremony to match the tone we wanted. Her available selection had everything we needed, but we had a couple unusual requests for songs that were special to us and she was happy to accommodate with custom arrangements. To help us decide between a couple songs, she made recording so we could hear what the string versions would sound like, and she also sent audio files of the custom arrangements so we could listen in advance and know they met our expectations. Mari provided classical music for the ceremony and contemporary for the cocktail hour, and we were pleased with all of it. We loved the tone the music set, and our guests loved the music, too!

Mari was fantastic. I asked Mari to put together an eclectic mix of music, mostly video game music arranged for string quartet. Some of the music wasn’t already arranged for string quartet and she arranged them herself or tweaked existing music to sound perfect. Mari was very communicative, punctual, and extremely organized, and all of the musicians were very professional and the playing was top notch. We got so many compliments from guests about how much they loved the music. Highly recommend!

Mari was such a pleasure to work with and helped with every step of the planning process. Having her play live vs using a recording was the best decision ever! She played a pivotal role in making our big day a success and was well within our budget. We got many compliments from our guests who absolutely loved everything she played.
