We hired Mariah and her team for our day of coordination for our wedding at Glen Oaks Big Sur. Mariah answered every question that I had with a positive and patient attitude! Mariah coordinated our wedding on the day of amazingly and smoothly without any hiccups. She executed the decorations perfectly on how I envisioned. I didn't have a single worry about what was going on around me during the wedding day! She was also super flexible with the timeline when we wanted to change a few things and kept things flexible. Mariah knows the Big Sur area so well and grew up there and it was nice to know that she did in case there were any emergencies or last minute hiccups with vendors, etc. If you are debating whether or not to hire Mariah, we definitely recommend to hire her! She did amazing and if we did it all over again we would 100% hire her again :)
We started planning our wedding in Big Sur as soon as we got engaged, and contracted with Mariah almost right away. Although we ultimately decided to move our wedding to a location outside of Big Sur, Mariah was such a helpful and thoughtful partner in the planning process. She was diligent in following up after our calls, worked to connect us with the people we wanted to contract, and helped us think through every step of the process. While we ultimately didn't get to spend our wedding with Mariah, I would highly recommend her for any event planning needs!
Mariah is absolutely wonderful, and we were so lucky to have her coordinate our intimate wedding at Glen Oaks in Big Sur. I work in the events industry as a florist and was seriously considering not hiring a coordinator for our wedding. Let me tell you, that would have been a mistake! From the first emails to the final moments of our wedding, Mariah was on top of it. She organized our vendors, managed our guests as the arrived, worked through our day's schedule seamlessly - all with a wonderfully calm attitude and warm smile. Mariah was hands down the best addition to my wedding possible. My husband and I had originally hired a different (very popular) Big Sur wedding planner who ghosted us 2 months before our wedding. After asking my vendors who they recommended I bring in to finish my pmanning and handle day-of coordination, almost all of them suggested I reach out to Mariah. Mariah took my frantic call and was so sweet and calming I immediately felt like she had it under control, and she did. She reviewed every contract, found and resolved mistakes my other planner had made, suggested other items I hadn't even thought of, coordinated with every one of my vendors, and created the most detailed and perfect timeline and sketches of our ceremony and reception spots. Literally no stone left unturned! I went into my wedding day with such peace that she had it under control. And she did. She played each of our songs with perfect timing, she staged all of our people perfectly, she set up our guest book station and placecards beautifully, and she bustled my extremely-complicated dress. She is such a joy to be around and such a calming presence, many of my guests sung her praises. I would recommend her a thousand times over!

One of the things that set Mariah apart from other planners we talked to is her connection to the Big Sur/Carmel/Monterey area. She is deeply rooted in the community and is able to give expert recommendations on venues and vendors. We were planning our wedding from Los Angeles so we really looked to Mariah for guidance.
She also brings a sense of calm to planning a wedding. We always looked forward to our planning calls, and no issue was too big for her to tackle. During our very first phone call, Mariah got right down to business helping us coordinate guest lodging and transportation, an issue that we had been stuck on for weeks! She made the wedding day itself completely relaxing and enjoyable - Mariah took care of every last detail so we were able to arrive with our families and not think about any of the coordination details.
Another thing that we loved about working with Mariah is that she really understood our vision and made sure that every last detail was perfect. One of our favorite memories of the day was walking into the venue and seeing our dreams brought to life ❤️

Mariah was our month of coordinator for our wedding in Big Sur. She was there on day 1 to help us navigate the planning process and provide insights to planning a wedding in the Big Sur area. Her deep knowledge about the area, venues and vendors helped us land on the perfect logistics and timeline. On the day of wedding, Mariah's flawless execution and attention to details made our wedding day one of the best days of our lives. She pulled everything together in a professional, fun and caring way and our wedding was beyond our expectations thanks to Mariah. I highly recommend working with Mariah for your special day!
Our favorite part about working with Mariah is her genuine and unwavering commitment to supporting the local community around Big Sur. This is undoubtedly the biggest advantage of working with her, as she has spent years cultivating authentic personal and business relationships with so many small business owners and vendors in the area. I share this detail not only to highlight how this will streamline your planning process but to assure you that your celebration will organically be infused with the down-to-earth, warm quality that draws so many of us to Big Sur--a feeling that can easily get lost in the pursuit of a Pinterest-perfect event. When I struggled to find local hair and makeup artists who had the experience and tools to accommodate me as a Black bride, Mariah didn't hesitate to connect me with contacts from her network so I could find a perfect match (Rhonda Johnson). When I was struggling to find a gluten-free cutting cake for our reception, she sent me the information for several local, family-owned gluten-free businesses (Nece's GF). When we were curious about working with a calligrapher, she connected us with her family friend Anna Bouchard. And the list goes on! She made sure that Mike, the owner of Big Sur Bakery, could meet with us during one of our scheduled in-person consults to discuss any questions or concerns we had ahead of our event. She ordered us a copy of the restaurant's published cookbook to use as our guestbook; it is such a unique artifact that is both beautiful and functional. I know it's typical for people to warn couples that something WILL go wrong on their wedding day to manage their expectations, but we truly cannot think of a single thing that didn't go to plan during our celebration, thanks to the stellar coordinating done by Mariah. Our day was stress-free, joy-filled, and EASY. Beyond that, it was incredibly aesthetically gorgeous because all of the vendors were able to show up and bring their absolute best service due to all the coordination with Mariah behind the scenes. It was important to us that we could trust that our vendors would create a vision of Big Sur that captured all of the elements things we love most about the environment without us having to be prescriptive or overly particular about how everything came together. The result completely exceeded our expectations and felt so authentic to us as a couple.
Other notes: I live with both type 1 diabetes and celiac disease and Mariah went above and beyond to make sure that our food/drink menu could offer me options I'd be excited about. She built a wedding day timeline that explicitly called out structured meal times, which helped ensure that I ate three meals and had stable blood sugars all day. Her coordination is inclusive, proactive, and kind-hearted. Like most 2020 wedding couples, we navigated multiple postponements, tying the knot a full two years past the initial date we scheduled with Mariah. She was incredibly communicative and transparent with us throughout this time and she operated with so much integrity, always honoring our original contract and giving us flexible options to customize her service hours, as we wanted to add additional consulting hours to our day-of-coordination package in the last few months leading up to the wedding. She was always responsive and articulated clear action items and points for follow-up each time we checked in. She really did go above and beyond to make our day absolutely perfect.
Mariah was the day-of coordinator for our mid-May Big Sur wedding, and we wish we could have worked together for longer! She was an incredibly calming presence from the moment we met her during our ceremony rehearsal, and seamlessly took on multiple responsibilities over the course of our wedding day to make sure that we didn’t have to worry about anything but enjoying ourselves. She handled everything from playlist switching to heating up some items for our dessert bar, all while setting up the event, keeping the day’s schedule on track, and coordinating all our vendors and guests to follow our set timeline. Our wedding day was genuinely stress-free thanks to her expertise, and we were able to fully enjoy our time with our loved ones.
She also has incredible relationships with several vendors in Big Sur - she knew our shuttle driver, caterer, venue groundskeeper, and bartender, and clearly was treated as a trusted partner by all of them. It added an extra element of community to the day which was lovely to experience.
And bonus: she gives off such a warm, kind energy. Even though we had only really worked together for a day and a half, she texted us the morning after our wedding to ensure that everything had gone well after she and the other vendors had left for the night.
Overall, I highly recommend Mariah for any event planning or coordination needs! If we ever plan another event in the Big Sur area, she’ll be our first call.
My fiancé and I were planning a destination wedding to Big Sur, California. I thought it'd be easy, as we were planning a small wedding, but anxiety began to build quickly as the to-do list began to grow. I decided that we needed to hire a wedding planner. From the first moment of talking to Mariah, all worries disappeared. For each detail, she knew multiple people and multiple directions that could be taken. She was such a breeze to communicate with on a regular basis. Her personality was happy and positive. She was respectful of cost by presenting multiple options with varying monetary ranges. She clearly had our best interests in mind. If you hire Mariah, I am certain that the day of your wedding is going to be smooth, happy, and beautiful - highly due to her work. What more could you want?
We wanted a low-key wedding in Big Sur on less than two months' notice. Mariah was amazing, easy to work with, responsive and fun! She helped with all of the details we would not have thought of. Her attention to detail was perfect. We had to change the wedding location on the day of the wedding due to flooding and Mariah took care of everything with ease. She is the best!
Mariah is simply the best in all categories. She goes above and beyond to ensure everything about the coordination and actual day of your wedding goes smoothly. She brings the local knowledge of growing up in Big Sur and truly understanding the logistics that go into having weddings on the central coast.
She has a high attention to detail and truly thinks of everything! Knowing Mariah was there to literally run the show provided tremendous comfort to not only myself but to my family as well. Our guests kept remarking on how outstanding our wedding was, and that was largely due to Mariah's expert planning and all around design services!!
Do yourself a favor and hire Mariah!!
We had actually already been in talks to work with another planner before we signed on with Mariah. We decided that we had to part ways with this planner due to personality issues and were immediately won over by how friendly, responsible and easygoing Mariah seemed over the phone. I knew in my gut that she was the right coordinator for us, despite having to let go of a beautiful venue attached to the other planner. Boy, did we make the right decision! Not only did we end up finding another, far better venue, Mariah worked tirelessly to make sure that every detail was perfect. Even when there were some last minute touch-and-go situations (it wouldn’t be a wedding without them, right?) Mariah was totally on it, and made the day go on without a hitch! Not only did she help us have the wedding of our dreams, she actually saved us money by recommending local vendors we couldn’t have found without her! I think the best part of working with Mariah is that she genuinely cares and champions your vision. She is fully aware of how important this day is to you. And trust me, this is not the case with every planner we talked to. To top it off, she’s a Big Sur native, and extremely knowledgeable about the area. Literally every vendor I talked to in the area seemed to know her name—Of course, this made things a lot easier, since she had previous experience working with them. We feel certain that this day would not have been as magical without her and we can’t recommend her enough!
Working with Mariah was hands-down one of the best decisions we made in the wedding planning process. Navigating and planning a Big Sur wedding can be daunting (but so worth it) and Mariah helped navigate the ecosystem flawlessly. I cannot thank her enough for all that she did leading up to our wedding as well as her presence and professionalism during our wedding weekend. She left no stone unturned in terms of details and logistics. So many people commented on how great and poised she was as she took control of the rehearsal, the actual wedding and all of the nitty gritty details.
Many people say how insane their wedding day and how it goes by in a flash. Mariah was a big part of the reason our wedding day felt relaxed, calm and truly enjoyable; she managed the flow of the day perfectly. It felt effortless, but I know it wasn't. She's a gem, and you should absolutely hire her if you are planning a Big Sur/Carmel/Santa Fe wedding!
Mariah was our day of coordinator for our wedding at Bar SZ Ranch. She brought Blain with her to assist. They both did a great job.
Mariah got in touch with all of our vendors in the month before the wedding, and she was attentive to the details relevant to each vendor. She worked with us to build the timeline that made sense for the wedding we wanted. She helped us structure the timing of the speeches, and when to move people through dinner.
Naturally, there were little hiccups, but with Mariah and Blain there, we didn't even notice. She let us be at ease and enjoy the day and helped solve the issues that came up. They were helpful with decor. Blain is a florist, so she was very familiar with what was best for the arrangements we had brought. Since it was a bright day, she suggested that we place the centerpieces under the tables to save the flowers. But by the time the reception started, all was reset. They managed the caterer, and the DJ. Mariah even found time in the schedule so that we could quickly rehearse our first dance.
Mariah also added on a few hours to run through the ceremony the day before, and to help oversee the caterer setup for our dinner on Friday. When the caterer was late, she stayed an extra hour to help get everything sorted. I even saw her cleaning up a broken glass - no idea how that broke - but the moment is emblematic of the experience working with Mariah. She'll solve problems and keep the day running smoothly, so that you can enjoy it. Thank you Mariah!
I found Mariah via Wedding Wire and the Knot. I live in NC and was planning a wedding from across the country. To say the day turned out to be everything I dreamed it to be and more was an understatement. Mariah took the time to get to know me and my style and to support me in the best way possible; always offering up ideas / suggestions. She recommended and facilitated communication with all vendors carrying the weight of so much for me.
Our day was perfect! Thanks to Mariah we have built a strong connection to the area and to the team of professionals (led by Mariah). Words cannot describe how grateful I am for her level-headedness, great insight, and thoughtful attention to detail.

We worked with Mariah to plan our July 2018 wedding (115 people, private ranch) in Big Sur. She was amazingly organized, patient and skilled in understanding our approach and style. It was a absolute pleasure working with her! Mariah is positive and helps assuage any anxiety or fears, is very calm in the face of challenges and had a wonderful eye for beauty and details. And our wedding had some really tricky logistics, which she managed and pulled off (including a blackout!) with total professionalism. She is there for you for the largest and smallest details. If you want to have a fabulous wedding and actually enjoy the planning process book her for the full monty immediately!!!
We used Mariah for day of coordination for our wedding in June. From the beginning Mariah was super easy to work with – she was professional, kind and extremely good at managing her time! It was so helpful to have her available for some consulting prior to the wedding as well – she knows all there is to know about Big Sur and was able to recommend and connect us with any type of vendor that we asked for. A few weeks before the wedding, we were stressing out with all of the boxes left to check on our list. We had a call with Mariah and immediately felt better. She helped us organize our timeline, seating chart, shuttle schedule, rental order, decor… you name it. She was also amazing at our rehearsal – we were getting married in a redwood grove and Mariah helped us all to work our way around a steep slope and provided amazing suggestions and guidance for the ceremony. On the wedding day, we did not have a worry in the world because we knew we were in such good hands with Mariah. She just has this big smile and a very calming presence about her… you’ll see ☺ There was even a slight hiccup with one of our vendors on our wedding day and we had absolutely no idea that anything even happened until a week later – she quickly found a solution and spared us the drama. I would highly recommend Mariah Green as your wedding planner for your special day. We were supposed to get married in Big Sur, CA on Memorial Day 2017 and after the Pfeiffer Bridge collapsed we were forced to find plan B which truly transformed into plan A as we got married at the Highlands Inn in Carmel. Mariah went above and beyond to make sure all the details and décor was perfect! She was an excellent communicator with our vendors to meet everyone’s expectations; we couldn’t have done it without her assistance. She also has a calm, sweet demeanor, which helps with a type A bride who did a destination wedding!
