They are totally excellent. I couldn't have asked for more.

our day was instrumental at making it as perfect as it was. There is not enough room to describe her personality .It was like we hired a photographer/wedding planner/family member all in one. My photos were magical and my expectations were beyond exceeded . 10 stars *

ays of your life!
When looking for a photographer, which was one of the most important wedding vendors to us, we knew we needed to book Malie from the second we met. She is so bubbly and warm hearted, while also genuine and professional. Having a kind and talented person who is just as excited to be part of our day as our loved ones-really makes a difference.
On the wedding day, she and her assistant made sure we were comfortable and could really enjoy the day. From getting us our apps and drinks during cocktail hour wedding party photos to making sure we ate our dinner, it's the little things that count but also how you end up having the best day ever! So not only do we have amazing photos, we were able to enjoy our day and truly had a perfect wedding day.
If you are considering Marie Violet Photography, you already know her work is just stunning. Both our engagement and wedding photos are gorgeous. Several people have told me that they are some of the best photos they've ever seen. Malie is very professional: timely in responses, inquiries, editing turnaround time, flexible with changes, and overall so helpful with your day. If you are looking for a warm hearted and romantic soul to document your day with the same love and romantic spirit, here is your wedding photographer.
xoxo Thank you!

shoot fun and relaxing and did a great job coaching us through it. I can't recommend her enough! We posted our photos on social media and the response overwhelming! We have several friends that are professional photographers that were in awe of how amazing our photos are. If you're looking for a photographer in the 757 area and you aren't calling Marie Violet Photography, you're doing it wrong!

ough every step of the process! She was very detailed oriented and explained many shots to me. She was purposeful with all of her work and I appreciated her kindess for a first timer like myself. I highly recommend her for boudoir photography!
I loved working with Malie, she was super personable and was easy to get ahold of for any questions or concerns even during a busy wedding season. Pictures turned out great and I r...
eceived the digitally within 1-2 weeks of the wedding. There were a few minor editing issues that I didn't really like on some of my friends photos but overall I'm super pleased! Book this vendor if they have an opening you won't be sorry and totally worth the money! You don't want to stinge on your wedding photos and she offers great quality. I also really liked the complementary engagement session that she did with us. And she was super patient when I got lost and had to get dressed in the car. 2 thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻

Malie was absolutely amazing to work with! She had my husband and I laughing the whole time! Everyone that sees our photos is blown away with how beautiful they are.

I cannot even put into words how much I loved Marie Violet photography for our wedding. Right from the start, Malie was so easy and fun to work with. When we met with her for th...
e first time, I think we chatted with her in her studio for over an hour. It was almost like we had known her for years! We had our engagement photo shoot about 2 months before our wedding and it was just so much fun that I couldn't wait for her to shoot our wedding. Our photos are flawless (and just to add she was very prompt with getting them back to us) and Malie is just able to create beautiful photos. She wasn't just a photographer, she treats you like a friend and I had the most amazing time with her. We are forever grateful for the amazing photos we will have for the rest of our lives!
What can I say? Malie was/is amazing. I found her at the VOW Bridal show in Virginia Beach in 2015. The minute I spoke with her I knew I wanted her as my photographer. She is so pe...

Malie was an absolute doll. I found out about Malie from a friend at work that had just secured her as her wedding photographer. I was looking to take some special pictures for m...
y 10year wedding anniversary. We had some hiccups in the beginning, both were out of her control. First there was an issue with the studio, then the hair/makeup was ill. But when we finally met for my boudoir shoot, it was everything and more than expected. She helped me feel super comfortable, even with the lack of clothes that I was wearing. She kept saying how great the pictures were turning out and how beautiful I looked. And she was right! My photos were phenomenal! I looked and felt just like a Victoria's Secret model! I finalized my album on a Thursday and received by Friday evening!! I would definitely recommend her to my friends who want to do something extra for the special person in their lives.
We booked Malie for an engagement and wedding package. Due to distance, we had Skype meetings before our initial in person meeting. I was happy at how much Malie wanted to know a...
bout us which made us very comfortable. We had an amazing engagement shoot in the park and fell in love with the pictures. Our wedding was in November and Malie made us feel very comfortable the entire day. You barely even noticed they were there. We are very pleased with our pictures.
I loved loved loved this photographer. Inhave never done boudoir and she was so sweet and helpful with everything.
We decided to interview Malie for our wedding photographer at the suggestion of a coworker. We drove to Chesapeake and met Malie at her house for the interview. We spent quite so...
me time talking and sharing our love story. Malie was so sweet and sincere and we instantly felt that we clicked. We wanted to interview other photographers before we made our decision and knew after interviewing others that Malie was the one! Malie did our engagement photos at a beautiful park in Chesapeake. She sent me to an amazing makeup artist before hand which helped relax me and made me feel beautiful. Once at the park Malie directed us and helped us to pose/walk in ways that would make the photos look great. She gave us tips on things that would help for the wedding day photos too. When we got our engagement photos back we were in awe. The photos were amazingly beautiful. Malie's work looks straight out of a magazine. We recently had our wedding and cannot wait to see how Malie captured our love. If you want a genuine person who will give you beautiful artistry, hire Malie...you will not be disappointed!
We have only done engagement photos so far, but they came out beautiful! Malie is amazing at what she does. Her photos are artwork!
I was impressed with Malie's quick responsiveness and professionalism when I submitted a contact request on her website and she called me within a couple hours! The other reviews o...
n the website are on point. Malie has a fun, bubbly personality and that makes having photos taken so much more enjoyable, especially for the guys out there like my fiance who hate being photographed! Before our engagement session, we met with Malie to discuss some ideas for the shoot. Although she is located in Chesapeake, she drove out to Richmond so we could take photos at the gorgeous Maymont Park and spent hours with us. She wanted to make sure that we got everything we wanted from the photos, and she even brought a blanket for us to lie on for a couple of shots. We got our engagement photos about a week later and immediately sent them out to both of our families. They were over the moon with how gorgeous they turned out, and we couldn't agree more! Unfortunately, we can't have Malie on our wedding day, but we will always have these photos to cherish. If you are looking for the perfect photographer, you won't regret having Malie to capture your special moments.
We booked Malie without meeting her strictly based on her portfolio, reviews, and professionalism via email. When we finally were able to meet her - we were in love! Our engagement...
shoot had to be rescheduled a few times due to weather, but she was always accommodating and moved things around in her schedule to make a new time work for us. When we got our engagement pictures back, I couldn't wait for the big day - I knew our pictures would be magical! The big day came and so did some really crappy weather, but Malie and her 2nd shooter arrived early, were professional, and remained optimistic the whole night. I felt like Malie was a close friend doing our photos rather than a hired professional. She was always filled with fun ideas and you knew your wedding was the only thing on her mind. Our wedding day has come and gone, but we hope to use Malie for a maternity shoot in the near future! :)

We are so pleased with our engagement pictures! Thank you, Malie!!!
I cannot express into words enough about how amazing Malie is... She is truly a gem. A little Virginia hidden secret that I stumbled upon and fell in love with. From her down to e...
arth personality to her humor she will make you feel comfortable and smile the whole time you are around her. She turned our two (non photogenic, non-models selves) into our most glamorous, dramatic, loving, and playful selves. She captured what we didn't even realize could be possibly captured. She made Wes feel so comfortable while doing our engagement session and the entire time throughout all of our sessions she gave us hints and tips on how to be our best selves in pictures and she paid attention to EVERY SINGLE DETAIL, which is EXACTLY what you want on your wedding day. She loves what she does and her passion and talent just explodes and overflows throughout her pictures. I will forever be grateful for her and would recommend her to EVERYONE! On top of everything, she even put together a few of our most remarkable pictures throughout the night, and put a story to our fairytale wedding. She made the pictures come to life, by writing out the details of our special day so that it became truly our "Story Book Fairytale". See for yourselves...

THANK YOU SO MUCH MARIE VIOLET PHOTOGRAPHY!!!
This is my second review (my first was after our engagement session), and now having received our wedding photos, I can only reiterate what I've stated before: we just cannot say e...
nough great things about Malie!! Not only is her work stunning, but she truly captured the spirit of our day. She made our entire wedding party feel comfortable during photos (not an easy task, considering our group) and was so much fun to work with! Her bright smile, energy, and positivity are infectious, and she really has become a dear friend throughout the whole process! I felt so calm on my wedding day knowing that she was directing the photos and would ensure that it was captured beautifully. Hiring Malie was absolutely one of the best decisions I made in planning my wedding, and we couldn't have been happier with our experience or our photos! I can't wait for our next opportunity to work with her again!
I interviewed two photographers and chose Marie Violet after my fiance' and I were able to sit down with her and meet her. We communicated via email other than the few times I was...
in the wedding location. She was very good about getting a feeling for us and finding out was important to us for our wedding photography. We had three shooters on the day of the wedding and got great coverage. It was really intersting getting the pictures back later and getting to see the things there was no way I saw as the bride. We had fun with Malie, and our pictures turned out really beautiful. It's hard to choose which ones to use for our album. Our wedding package included an engagement shoot, but we had already done that with another photographer, so Malie let us substitute a photo shoot in our new house as a newly married couple. We had a great time getting to know Malie and were very happy to have her be a part of our wedding.
Malie is truly an expert in her field!! I scheduled a boudoir session with Malie and she made me feel so beautiful!! I was such a skeptic after having a horrible experience during ...
a previous boudoir shoot with another photographer but Malie reassured me and I was NOT disappointed! She is such a sweet, kind hearted person and she will have you feeling so comfortable during your session. Not to mention, my husband was blown away by all of the images Malie captured for his special boudoir book! Without a doubt - Top Notch!

d exciting time the whole session!! I was SO pleased with my photos... they turned out beautifully... I'd use her again in a heart beat if I had the money saved up! You won't be disappointed!
Our photos were everything we wanted! Malie and her team made us feel very relaxed and made the picture time go by smoothly!!! Highly recommended!

ed me to relax in front of the camera and to be myself. The pictures turned out awesome, my husband loved them and I had never felt so good! Boudoir photography is very intimate - heck, I don't know a whole lot of women who will let their husbands take a sexy picture of them, let alone a stranger lol. Marie is open, honest and has such an incredible energy about her. Her pictures are beautiful and she puts all her effort into each client she has the privilege of photographing. I am already a repeat customer. Thank you, Marie xo
Marie Violet Photography is spectacular. Malie is so talented, creative, intelligent and professional. She is the whole package and will go above and beyond your expectations. She ...
is capable of much more besides just her incredible photography. She also did my save the dates and invitations. They were so different and creative and I felt so special to have a resource like her. Malie will treat you like your best friend from day one and that is her genuine personality. She really makes you feel like a princess during your wedding or whatever special event is going on in your life. I would recommend her to anyone. You are not only hiring an amazing photographer but she becomes a lifelong friend as well.

One of the best things about Malie is her personality! We were immediately drawn to her bubbly, sweet, and helpful self during our initial Skype meeting. We talked with another p...
otential photographer that same day, but knew we'd found something special with Malie. When she came to Richmond to do our engagement shoot, she went above and beyond to help us prepare for the shoot and make it a success. From then until the wedding day she was always available for consultations and always going above and beyond for us. Our engagement photos were fabulous and we knew that she wasn't going to disappoint for our wedding. I told my husband that photography was my biggest monetary priority for our day, and Malie was worth every penny. Her second shooter, Mike Dragon, also did a wonderful job and always made us feel comfortable and taken care of. The thing about Malie is that she truly thinks of her new clients as friends. She never interrupted sweet moments, but was simply there to catch them, but also knew when it was a good idea to step in (i.e. help me dry my tears, adjust my dress, get the hair out of my face). Our wedding photos are wonderful and we couldn't be happier. :) You won't regret choosing Malie for your big day!

ad so much fun during our shoot and felt so comfortable and natural with Malie directing us! She's also been incredibly generous with her time with us, never hesitating to offer help wherever she can!
Our engagement session seemed mildly cursed for a short while - after having to be rescheduled multiple times due to weather and other unforeseen events, Malie eventually found us a fantastic backup location which we ended up using. The space fit both our style and personalities to an impressive degree, and we couldn't be happier with the photos we received!!
Malie has been an absolute joy to work with, a truly gifted artist and adorable in every way, and we cannot WAIT to hang out with her again at our wedding! :)
I have never found anyone as consistently spectacular as Malie Osborn of Marie Violet Photography. Not only was I obsessed with the photos she did for my engagement and wedding, bu...
t also of every single photo I see her post! She has an amazing eye for light that gives a beautiful soft but sharp look to every moment she captures.
Malie went above and beyond, submitting our pictures to various blogs and publications (with our permission of course) which was such a fun bonus!
Malie has the best, bubbliest, loving, understanding and fun personality that makes her a joy to be with on your big day!
Thank you so much to Marie Violet Photography for our beautiful photos and I hope to find occasion to use them again!
Much Love!

tography is your answer! She was recommended to me by several people in the wedding business in Virginia Beach and each person sang her praises, and now I am, too! Malie is so personable, prompt, professional, helpful, fun and hardworking. She will do everything in her power to make you feel comfortable while taking photos and guides you through the entire process! She really got to know both of our personalities and made our engagement shoot a memory that we will have for a lifetime. She made us feel special and that truly came across in the pictures and in the editing. She captures the beauty of the scenery, but most importantly, the beauty of the love that the couple shares. I promise that you will be satisfied and that you will be booking her for every major life event! xoxo DLS

Of course without saying the photos were stunning, the photo album is so beautifully done and she was EXTREMELY creative with shot ideas and such. I can't wait to hire her again, and the icing on the cake is not only is she a talented photographer, she is super sweet!!!
