During the reception, he did an excellent job taking control and making sure everything was orderly, on time and most importantly fun. One of the most important parts of our wedding day was having everyone dancing until the very last minute and Mark made sure that was the case. We loved his musical set and had the best night celebrating with our friends and family.

nted Mark to DJ our wedding so we booked early and it was one of the best decisions we made during our wedding planning process. Mark is a fantastic, warm, friendly, enthusiastic person who is wonderful to work with. His years of experience make him the absolute best in Columbus. He knows how to get a crowd on the dance floor and keep them there for hours on end. He DJ'd our ceremony and reception (both at Dock580) and we couldn't have been happier with how things turned out. During our meeting prior to the wedding he listened to all of my requests and made extremely helpful recommendations. He made sure he had the timing of the music exactly perfect for our ceremony and it meant a lot to me. looking for something fun to do with our friends and heard there was this "music trivia night" nearby. We had a blast! Mark is funny, diverse in music knowledge, and overall a great entertainer. He was so excited to be apart of our wedding. He met with me a month before and accommodated to all of my crazy music needs. The day of the wedding he was early, started with a BANG, and created a perfect atmosphere for each beat of the reception. Seriously, we couldn't have had our perfect day without him!

wedding. In preparing for the wedding, Mark was more than willing to meet with me, my husband and my parents to make sure we were OK with how the music would work (we all LOVE music). He also took time to go over some typical timing for a wedding reception, which was very helpful. Mark took our suggestions and encouraged me and my husband to provide him with songs we like for the cocktail hour/dinner. He said it would be a chance for us to show us as a couple, and I couldn't agree more. Once it was time to dance, Mark did an AWESOME job of keeping the party going: I don't think our dance floor was ever dead. People told me it was the most packed dance floor they had seen. I love dancing, so that was great to hear. We owe it all to Mark! I would definitely use his services again...for anything!

gest fear was to have a DJ spinning tunes and our guests sitting around tables talking instead of dancing. Well, that never happened! There was not one moment where our dance floor was empty from the beginning of the dance portion of the evening - to the very last song. Our guests later raved about our DJ and about the selection of music. (By the way, we had guests of all ages - from teenagers to senior citizens - and they were all out on the dance floor!) While we discussed with Mark some of the songs we wanted to hear during the social hour and the dinner portion of the evening, we left much of it up to him. He worked with us to find out what sort of music we liked - and, more importantly, what we DIDN'T like - and then he took it from there. It was a huge relief for me not to have to worry about selecting songs for the entire reception. Yet, every single song that we specifically said we wanted to hear, I remember hearing - and dancing to! Mark was also willing to work with us on our slightly unorthodox decision to be announced into the reception and go straight to the bride and groom and parent dances and then the cake cutting. To me, those elements always break up the flow of the evening. This is not your typical wedding protocol - but Mark did a fantastic job having the music flow from one thing to the other. While I think all our vendors (venue, photographer, cake, etc.) were outstanding, Mark Dantzer was - by far - the best vendor we had! I would absolutely recommend Mark Dantzer to every bride and groom - he's simply the best!

The only strange thing that happened at the reception was that we had discussed in the meeting we wanted a "Anniversary Dance" and a "Dollar Dash" during the reception and neither of those happened. I'm not sure what happened. It wasn't a huge deal it didn't happen, because his music choices were great and everyone had an awesome time. It was just strange he didn't do the two things we had asked for. I do recommend him to any bride and groom. Just double check what you want to do for the evening!

eir music selection was bad, they couldn't read the crowd and no one wanted to get out on the dance floor and dance. So when I began planning my wedding I knew that music was a priority because I wanted people to get out on the dance floor and have a good time! My husband and I first met with Matt Ryan and his prices were outrageous. He owns his own DJ company with DJ's he hired, however we were told if we wanted to guarantee that he would be our DJ he was asking $1,700 (and this is for a Friday wedding, which should be cheaper). Anyways, Mark Dantzer was recommended to us and so we set up a meeting with him. He is extremely outgoing, funny and his prices are appropriate. He was always easy to get a hold of either my phone or e-mail. The thing that we liked the best about Mark is that he doesn't seem to play the same set of music with each wedding. He truly reads the crowd and changes the music selection based on what people get out on the dance floor and dance to. That is what a great DJ should do! Another thing that we liked about Mark is that we asked him not to play the overplayed wedding songs (Hokey Pokey, YMCA, etc.) and he didn't. He played a great variety of music and I am extremely happy we hired him. He even had my 4 year old nephew out on the dance floor break dancing to LMFAO!

f weddings where the DJ just sucked the life out of the reception. Our meetings with Mark completely wiped any sort of anxiety I had about the music. On the day of the wedding I could NOT have been happier with the music selection and the flow of the evening. Everything was spot-on and Mark threw in songs that we LOVE that we didn't even request! He had the entire dance floor packed the entire night and everyone was very sad to hear that the reception was over. I will also say that Mark did a phenomenal job MC-ing the evening and kept the events flowing. He checked in with me to make sure everything was great and I was so pleased! He is worth EVERY penny and even more. We got many many compliments saying it was the BEST wedding they have ever been to and I believe a big part of that was the music selection! I will say, he even managed to get my 82 yr old grandma who hates weddings out on the dance floor. Thanks again, Mark. You were PHENOMENAL!!!

handling the situation. He sent us a replacement DJ, who did everything that he was supposed to. He was aware of all of my special requests and kept the party going. I had so many guests tell me our wedding was the most fun wedding they have been to, because everyone was on the dance floor all night! He also refunded some of our money since he was unable to make it himself as originally planned.

th Jamie months before the wedding to go over availablity and just the over all vibe we wanted for the wedding. Then a month before the wedding we met up with him again to go over last details to see that everything was on track. Overall these meetings went well and he was on time and organized... He told us that he was not able to download music on the fly so that we needed to have a list of songs ready for him before the wedding so that if he did not have them he would have the chance to download them in advance. He said this hasn't been an issue and that he would make sure to have the songs we requested... so then a week later we gave him a list of... must plays... do not plays... and the songs we wanted as our first dance, father/daughter... and so on. Jamie was on time and once the reception started... our announcement was so soft that you couldn't hear the song... which was important because our song fit the way we were all (wedding party) walking in/dancing.... Then when it was time for the best man's speech... the microphone cut in and out the WHOLE time... he should have tested where the microphone could reach because if the best man was 5 feet closer to the DJ locations.. it would have never cut in and out. All of this happpened,.. and I was okay... things happen... you day will not be "perfect" BUT... he did NOT play our must play songs... because he did not have all of them downloaded before hand like he said he would... he DID play a song on our do NOT play list... and then at the end of the night asked for his check in front of all of the remaining guests... I had the wedding of my dreams... and in the grand scheme of things my wedding was a blast... but if I knew then what I do now.. I would not have ever hired him... I cannot speak for Mark as a DJ... but he did hire Jaime to work for his company and I would not want to have him represent a company that I owned... It hurts me to write this review... but it would not feel right letting it go unknown to the rest of the furture brides in Columbu/central, Ohio.
