We actually selected our wedding date based on Mark's availability - we just couldn't imagine anyone but Mark being there to document the day! We were so honored that Mark was able to join us for our wedding weekend in Pennsylvania.
Mark's talent is obvious - and shines through in any of his photographs. He is truly a master of his craft. Mark's ability to capture the most intimate of moments, artfully frame the most stunning of photographs, and his mastery of light make him one of the most talented photographers I've had the privilege to work with professionally - and now personally. Mark has this incredible ability to capture indoor photographs in way I have seen few other photographers do. He's able to bring that same natural, lit-from-within-glow to his indoor photography, and do so effortlessly. Much of our wedding took place indoors (and even more than we originally planned as it ended up raining!) but Mark blew us away with the photographs and the quality of light he was able to capture. I know few other photographers would have been able to do what he did.
What you may not be able to tell is the kind of person Mark Davidson is. He is an utmost professional and widely respected among the Boston wedding community and beyond. But Mark is also a funny, genuine person and caring friend. Mark blended in seamlessly with our wedding guests and his calming, easy-going presence was a cherished part of our wedding weekend.
Mark gave us the greatest gift in being our wedding photographer and we are so grateful for the stunning photographs he created. Thank you Mark, for everything! We are forever grateful to you!

y easy-going to work with and sent us photo previews of our album within 2.5 weeks after our wedding, he also included videos of our ceremony and speeches and short video clips throughout our day without added cost! It may be helpful to know when working with a documentary-style photographer that you may need to be more directive if you want specific shots or for moving your own timeline along. Mark serves more as a fly on the wall for whatever is happening rather than directing your day for the photos (this is how we wanted it to be, but may be good to know for future couples). We are thrilled and can't stop staring at our photos even 7 months later! We would absolutely love to work with Mark again in the future.

f the wedding was that Mark was very much not trying to make pictures the big event. As someone who is very awkward in front of a camera (speaking for both myself and my husband), this means we have so many photos from our wedding day where we look happy, relaxed, and natural. Throughout the day, Mark was always in the background shooting moments as they happened rather than making everything into a pose. I understand this isn't everyone's prerogative, but if you are a little camera shy like us, I would definitely recommend Mark! So many of my favorite photos from the day are from these moments. We did have some posed group shots as well and we did make sure to mention these to him before + during the day, and these came out beautiful as well. Mark also took a lot of photos of the details + the setting, which we loved, and even surprised us with a short video after our wedding which we were not expecting at all! All in all we would hire Mark 10x over, one of our best vendor choices of the day. He was intentional in his work, extremely talented, and very funny.
Sorry for the late review, hopefully this falls into the better late than never category! Thank you Mark for giving us such a beautiful keepsake from our day, we love the photos so much.

ause our ceremony was outside and it was getting ready to rain afterward, our family photos got rushed which meant that we did not get all of the different combinations we had wanted. There were a few instances where someone's face was covered up or there were other visually distracting details I wish Mark had caught, and the order of photos was a bit disorganized which meant that some people had to come back out and leave for different photos, including my dad who's in a wheelchair. I appreciated that Mark offered to take a photo of my siblings and I after the reception since we had not gotten to take a photo together earlier. Also he was very good at blending in and still managing to get nice photos of our cake cutting, our first dance, and other moments without being in the way or distracting. Lastly, he was extremely fast and editing and sharing our photos with us: he shared previews within a week and all of our (hundreds of) photos within two weeks. Overall if you are looking for a photographer who takes candid natural photos that capture the essence of the moment, we recommend Mark!

Since the wedding, we keep coming back to how happy we were to work with Mark. We actually hired Mark to capture two days of photos: our small, intimate church wedding, and then our big celebration the week after. Mark was super easy-going and accommodating to capturing our day the way we envisioned it.
Mark was able to capture not only all of the photos we wanted, but all of the little moments in between that we were and even were not a part of. I think the best compliment I can give, especially for this style of photography, is that I was so unaware of where he was while we were on the dance floor. I was concerned that I was going to be self-conscious with photos being taken all night, but I was able to just live in the moment and completely enjoy every second of the party, only to then realize that I get to relive it all through the photos in a genuine and authentic way.

When we wanted a 2nd shooter he brought along Krista, whose work matched the caliber and quality of Mark’s photographic style. 1 and that photographer had some personal issue such that she couldn't cover our wedding.
I found Mark online and what I loved about his work was he was able to capture the feeling and mood of the wedding. We did not hire a videographer but hiring Mark is 2-for-1. Every photo really captured our wedding vibe and our family dynamic.
I also hired Mark for our cultural ceremony two days ahead (Henna) for a few hours. I am happy I did that because he was able to capture the essence of that ceremony as well and we had beautiful photos from there.
I highly recommend Mark and definitely recommend checking out his website for his photo portfolio. He does an excellent job of doing a storytelling approach to photography.

He responded quickly to our inquiry about his services and chatted with us over the phone within a few days to get more information on what we were looking for. He checked in throughout the time between that call and the ceremony to make sure he understood our needs and that we felt comfortable. He even made sure his fee reflected our actual needs on the day as opposed to purely charging us based on the fact we were getting married. On our actual elopement day, he made us feel at ease. He was on time, kind, warm, and funny. It was like we had known him for years even though we had only met him in person on that day. We had flown to Boston to elope as just the two of us, so we were able to capitalize on our mobility to take pictures in several beautiful spots around the city as well as in our hotel. It was honestly a great time and will be a fond memory for years to come. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience with Mark, but will recommend him to any and all who are looking for a photographer in the Boston area. He is a consummate professional and made our special day that much more perfect.

d time was to get the images. We loved how he and his team blended into the wedding. My fiance and I are not huge on staged photographs, we really enjoy photos that capture the actual moment. Of course we wanted the "typical" photos of us with our wedding party and families but we did not want to spend a very long time taking these photos, we wanted to be able to hang out with our guests and enjoy our reception. Honestly when we got our photos back I was surprised at how many images we got and everything he captured because again he blended right into the wedding and never was standing directly in front of you snapping pictures. We are very happy with our photographs and we were very happy with Mark!

Not only is he an incredibly talented photographer, but he seamlessly documents your entire day, beginning to end, and manages to keep you (the bride) calm as a cucumber. Throughout the day and night, his presence was never intrusive and I could not be more thrilled that he captured so many candid and special moments of our wedding. The photographs were available quickly and we were able to easily download them for our use! I whole heartedly recommend Mark if you want to ensure flawless documentation of the most important day of your life!!

--Photo quality: My husband and I are not photogenic people and every

came out perfect!
--Professionalism: I had Mark and another photographer from his team, Steve
work with us on our big day. Both photographer were friendly
and helpful throughout the whole day.
--Candid pictures: Mark and Steve got some amazing candid
pictures throughout the day. The day went by so quickly and
so when I got my pictures back, it was really special to go
through the pictures and see moments I didn't even realized
were captured.
--Special requests: I wore my mom's dress and I had Mark look
at some of her wedding pictures. I really wanted to take one
picture in the same pose as a surprise for her. I showed Mark,
and he got the perfect shot! The two photos look great next to
each other and my mom was so touched with this little detail.
Also, my sister has special needs and she really doesn't like
posing for pictures. Mark and Steve got SO many good
pictures of her--I couldn't be happier.
--Time frame: I got my pictures back in 3 weeks!!! AMAZING.

or my husband and I to pick a photography, I knew Mark had to be it! He was so easy & nice to work with from the very beginning! He was always available to answer any questions through the wedding planning process. Our pictures are perfect, and I could not love them anymore! There are so many beautiful candid pictures that I really love, but even for the more poised pictures, they look really natural and effortless. I’ve had many friends tell me how shocked they are that we got our pictures back so quickly (13 days after the wedding). And Mark makes it super easy to be able to go online look at all of your pictures and then download them.
Working with Mark was truly a gift, not only is he incredibly talented in his art, but he was so nice and easy going through the entire process! I will recommend him to any future friends/family who get married!

Mark did a fabulous job of photographing our wedding day! He called me a few days before the actual wedding day to go over all of the details and it really helped to calm my nerves...
. He showed up right on time on the wedding day and from there on we barely noticed his presence (in a good way!). Our main reason for choosing Mark was his ability to capture natural and candid moments as they unfolded throughout the day. He was very efficient in running through all of the formal photos and we were able to catch the last 20 minutes of our cocktail hour which was great! He captured so many beautiful photos that we will cherish for a lifetime! And he managed to get them back to us in under 3 weeks! We would highly recommend Mark!

Mark is nothing short of amazing! Not only is he an incredible photographer, he also has the ability to make every picture feel so real which is what drew us to him for our wedding...
. We loved his ability to capture the intimate special moments of the wedding day without making each frame feel like a staged photoshoot. Leading up to the wedding Mark made sure to check in, even meeting my husband and I in person a couple of times to make sure we were doing okay and answer any questions. The day of the wedding he was extremely flexible, being open to some last minute requests and remaining super calm in the chaos that is the wedding day. It was comforting to have him there reassuring my husband and I everything was going to plan. He was even nice enough to hang around at the end of the night and take some last minute pictures with our friends which I really appreciated! Most importantly, for two people who hate posing for pictures Mark was able to capture so many beautiful natural frames of my husband and I!!! They are beyond anything we could have imagined!! Thank you Mark for all your hard work on the wedding day! We feel so lucky to have had you there to capture every moment!

hable personality would be exactly what we wanted around on our wedding day. He is casual, flexible (e.g. trekking through the woods with us for a memorable first look) and really lets it be the couples day to enjoy. He is inobtrusive and was able to caprue some raw, beautiful moments without anyone hardly realizin that he was present. We got some beautiful portraits but loved that we were able to enjoy our wedding without spending the whole night posing for pictures. We also received our full, edited wedding gallery within just a few weeks of our wedding. Thank you, Mark, for perfectly capturing everything that made our wedding weekend so special.
