He made us feel at ease throughout the planning process. Our wedding was in NYC and his team met us at the hotel on time and we shot in several locations throughout the city before the venue. We even all squeezed in the back of a cab to get some great candid shots cutting through the city which became some of our favorite shots from the day! His team was very organized and made sure we got all the shots we needed. Our family and friends all enjoyed working with them. We received the final photos shortly after in a unique package, a flash drive with a photo of us in a decorative box with another photo. Overall we are thrilled that we chose this team for our special day and we would highly recommend!

I knew after looking at some of his work and speaking with him he was the photographer we needed for our wedding. He was so paitent and kind from the start and everytime we spoke it was like speaking to one of my friends. My husband and I were suppoused to originally be married in Oct 2020 but then covid hit and we had to postpone.... Kevin was so accommodating with everything even with changing the plan 3 times....(one of them including eloping to montana) and Kevin was totally down to come do photos for us on all 3 occasions! We settled for a small park wedding that year and had a big wedding this past Oct 2021 to which Kevin and his other photographer were present at both weddings! They took so many phenomenal shots and memories as well as capturing every moment I asked for. Not only were we impressed with his talented work, but our personalities clicked instantly, which made the decision very easy. I don’t get to make sure everything is going just right for her. I don’t get to calm her down when whatever minuscule little thing that morning was pissing her off. Cue Kevin Markland. My wife and all of her bridesmaids really made it a point to let us know how great their experience was with Kevin in the room photographing the moments before the wedding . Just his presence and attitude and personality alone can really make your day turn around. In the guys room, we had the pleasure of being joined by the ever so talented Jon, who worked alongside Kevin all day and who just like Kevin, has such a contagious, personable attitude which I continue to repeat throughout this review , however it literally MAKES EVERYTHING about the day. Jon really knew what and where to capture as the guys were getting ready. You wouldn’t of even known he was in the room while he was shooting , that’s how “in the moment” it was . Even the little touches like to which window in the suite had better lighting for my gift reveal photos or even making sure he captured me and my dad having a pre wedding heart to heart without us even knowing. Jon, thank you. Timing timing timing, it’s do or die when it comes to a wedding day and Markland photography knows all about it. Kevin and his crew made it a point to make sure we hit all of the spots my wife and I requested and made them at the right time of the day and with enough time to get a couple of laughs in! We had two photographers for our wedding day (Kevin and John) and both were so easy to work with. Kevin was with the bridemaids and I getting ready, and in addition to all of the photos getting ready he was also able to get "first look" photos with my dad. I sent Kevin some photos I had seen and liked before the wedding, and he used them as inspiration to get some shots of our bridal party after the ceremony that I love! We had a great experience working with Kevin, and are so happy with how all of the photos have turned out!

We did an engagement shoot with him a few months after booking, which was flawless. My husband and myself are NOT photo people. In fact we are so awkward it’s terrible – but Kevin made it feel like we were all just hanging out for the day. Nothing super posed or too proper and let us just be us (this is why we booked him to begin with, we are all about those candids). Fast forward to wedding day. John, his assistant, is a wildly talented photographer and it makes sense why he works along side Kevin. He is funny & easy to talk to. He was in my husbands room but I had the pleasure of dealing with him personally during my first look which almost ended in a disaster for permit reasons until they both put that fire out with poise. Now, onto Kevin himself. BOOK HIM. I cannot stress enough book this company. Kevin is a downright good person. He is honest, compassionate, calming, attentive and kickass at what he does. There is NO better person to put that responsibility on then him and his staff. Long Island is packed with photographers who can take talented photos or at least edit photos to look good, but you’re a number to them. Not every photographer will sit in a room with you talking your nerves down, helping you get lipstick off your dress & genuinely caring. He takes the time to get to know you both and your story... He makes you feel as if you’ve known him your entire life, and ladies/gentlemen I am going to be honest – on your wedding day that’s exactly what you need, TRUST ME... He is the type of person who starts as a vendor when you book him and becomes a lifelong friend. our wedding, everyone we met after that we kept comparing to him and none of them even came close to the outstanding work Kevin does and how personable he is. He's so easy to work with, laid back, funny but still does an amazing job with photos. On the day of our wedding, Kevin and his assistant Jon arrived early and were so much fun. He had great ideas for pictures. And even though it was pouring, we got some AMAZING shots in the rain. He was never pushy, never made us do anything we didnt want to do. We only went outside for a few minutes and barely missed any of our wedding at all and got all the shots we wanted. We didnt book Kevin to stay the entire night, only up until the last hour. We had an issue with our venue and when Kevin heard about it, he stayed the entire night for us. Talk about excellent service! During the whole process he really feels like a friend more than your photographer and his pictures are so great, we even used him for a birthday photoshoot for our dog! I can't recommend him enough!

le ask how my photos turned out, I say, “magical” because they truly are! Every photo is so dreamy and captures all of the beauty of our special day. His calm demeanor and professionalism can never be matched. I also think it’s important to say that he was never in anyone’s way. I’ve read some reviews that have talked about his candids vs. formal pictures, and although he specializes in his candid shots, if you want him to shoot something specific, just tell him, and he’ll find a way to get it done!!! We are so happy that we chose Kevin to be our wedding photographer, and have even referred him to some of our closest friends who have used/ are going to use him as well. We are so excited to select our photos for our album and will rest assured that it will be just as amazing as everything else. :)

ry skill of capturing moments in people's lives that last forever. My first ever shoot with Kevin were headshots in 2008, and till this day, I still use those pictures. Ive seen him do other amazing work in all his years of growth and development that sparked pretty much national acclaim all over the board. So it was only right that Kevin was going to shoot my engagement photos AND wedding ultimately, and man these pics were absolutely breathtaking to my fiancée and I. He guided us perfectly to be our natural selves around each other, and even though it was a cold beach day, we were having so much fun we couldn't feel a thing!! Just pure joy and love that POPS out of these pictures, OMG. I cant get enough of this man and his work!! My future wedding pictures will be amazing thanks to this man, and I cant WAIT for him to be a huge part of our special day!! Kevin, Brother, you're the greatest.
