We could not be happier with our experience with Marlon and the Shakes for our wedding! They were so easy to work with and a highlight for us and all of our guests. They played music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception and everything was wonderful. Our reception was on a boat too, so the logistics I'm sure are trickier than most and they brought the house down! So much fun and such a great band. Our band was the thing most people raved about after the wedding at brunch the next day!

Marlon and the Shakes actually performed at our after party once our wedding reception was over. They were the perfect addition to our wedding day and truly the cherry on top of it all. They kept our party going and all of our guests really enjoyed all of their music and the interactive experience of being able to text in song requests. Besides how fun they are, they're truly so talented. Marlon is an incredible singer. It's amazing to watch! We were so happy with them, and would recommend them to anyone! We're so grateful to have had them be apart of our wedding day!

I am so excited to help you plan your big day! I've played hundreds of weddings over the past 20 years, so rest assured that I can help bring your vision to life. About me: THE SHAKES band leader MARLON LONGID cut his musical teeth playing with some of the finest musicians of this time, sharing the stage with roots rock legend Rick Danko (The  Band), Dennis DeYoung (Styx), Blues Traveler and Chicago R&B great Pete Special (Big Twist and the Mellow Fellows). He formed the rock outfit SoulFix in 1999 and eventually earned the right to play with national acts Staind, Maroon 5 and King’s X.

We found Marlon & the Shakes at a friends wedding and knew right away that we wanted them to be our wedding band! They were both affordable as an 8 piece band (but you have many op...

tions) and amazing having the wedding guests on the dance floor the entire night! Marlon coordinated everything with us and made it very easy with a template he already built. We let them choose the songs with a few do not play lists. They even let us customize the night including a song they learned for us by our request, singing happy birthday to my maid of honor, and letting my father in law sing a song with the band. It was all so memorable! I would recommend them to anyone, especially if having your wedding in the greater Chicago area! They have a Spotify page and play at a lot of restaurants too if you want to check them out on Facebook to hear them ahead of time!

Cannot recommend Marlon enough. We booked Marlon after seeing him at a wedding we attended. Four other couples at that wedding also booked him he was that good. He was very helpful...

and great to work with throughout the process. He was always on top of things and took away one more hassle from the planning process. On the day of our wedding Marlon and his team were on time, all set up with the venue, full of energy and made our reception a blast. Marlon played live music during cocktail hour which our guests loved. We opted to have a DJ after dinner and worked with Marlon and Jay. They were a great team and kept our dance floor full all night.

they've never seen a dance floor so packed for the entire night! Marlon played an acoustic cocktail hour, which was perfect, and DJ Speed read the reception vibe/crowd to a tee... He played nonstop hits all night. Marlon's emceeing was simple, thoughtful, and tasteful. They took the time to meet with us to get to know us beforehand so that it was personalized to be exactly what we wanted. Could not have asked for a better vendor to make our wedding unforgettable!
