al was exactly what I wanted but couldn’t fully articulate. From our first consultation, he was warm, charismatic, and incredibly professional. He’d worked with our planner and at our venue before, which gave us so much confidence.
Daniel went above and beyond even before the wedding. He helped us think through videographer options, reviewed our timeline in detail, and met with me a few days beforehand to talk through my “good side,” insecurities, and overall vibe. I felt completely comfortable with him - and I could tell he genuinely listened and kept those things in mind throughout the entire day.
On the wedding day, both Daniel and Jazmin were fantastic. They were efficient, calm, respectful of private moments, and so good at giving natural direction. The portraits Jazmin took of my husband are unbelievable - truly frame-worthy. The two of them shoot so seamlessly together that our gallery feels cohesive and beautifully curated.
Our preview gallery was delivered shockingly fast with way more photos than I expected. And now that we’ve seen the full gallery, I’m blown away all over again. The photos capture not just what the day looked like, but what it felt like. They caught the big moments, the tiny moments, and everything in between.
If I could, I would hire Daniel and Jazmin for every major life event going forward. They’re that good. Warm, talented, detail-oriented, and an absolute joy to work with. I cannot recommend them enough.

On the wedding day, he showed up early, was efficient, and extremely friendly. During pre-wedding photos, he helped pose us and made us look like we knew what we were doing! I have only received the previews so far (which came very quickly) but even from these, I cannot believe they are MY photos. My friends and family all mention how stunning they came out and how they look straight out of a magazine. We’ve got nothing but amazing feedback from everyone. Daniel and his assistant perfectly captured our fall aesthetic, Race + Religious unique vintage vibe, and seamlessly integrated into the wedding, getting shots that I had no idea were even possible! You could also tell they know the venue SO well! I relied on them to place us during first look, family shots, bridal party/groomsmen group pics, etc. They truly made the day flow easy with the experience at the venue.

the wedding, and we overall enjoyed the photos that we received (although, he did overly color edit some images which I will probably have to fix in photoshop)… but the real disappointment was the “wedding album” that he designed for over $700. If you, like me, expect to have an actual photo album for that cost, this is not it, and he also didn’t work with us at all on the album. The only collaborative part was picking up to 100 photos and then all of a sudden we received a finished album in the mail. We did not receive a proof or any way to check the design or photo selections before it was sent to print. He did say that not all the photos would be picked for the album, but 1) we expected to have a proof, so we could adjust if he missed a favorite, and 2) we didn’t expect only 63 photos out of 100 to be selected. He cut our selections almost in half without any input. This included cutting all but FOUR family portraits, so my own siblings are not even in this “wedding album”. There also was no way to indicate within the 100 that we picked which were essential for him to include. So how could he have known? I understand that this is his process, but to me it seems very rushed and formulaic. For $700 we assumed we would get a proof of the design, but also assumed the quality of the book itself would be good. The book itself is also a disappointment. It is only 13 pages, and even though it includes 63 photos, most of them are very small (like 2x3), so you can’t even see the details of the pictures. They are all just crammed in there. After emailing him to try to remedy the situation, he ignored me for two weeks and only responded after I sent a more upset email. He does not do refunds, and he would expect us to pay more for a redo. As people who are not particularly well off, we do not have the extra money to redo this or go get another one right away, as we splurged the first time thinking that a professional photographer would do it right. Only after going through this process did he say that this is really more of a “highlights of the day album” and not a full wedding album. Which was not something stated before. So save your money and, even if you use him for photos, if you want a real album, get it somewhere else. I’m very disappointed in his communication and process.

The amount of compliments we received (and keep receiving) from our friends/family/coworkers on how blown away they were by Daniel and Jazmin's friendly demeanor throughout the event, and how our photos look "magazine worthy" only further validates our feelings. We could also communicate with them beforehand about what shots we wanted and did not want, and the team was very respectful on the day of everyone, somehow capturing images while not getting in the way of the shots themselves. They also were highly adaptable and would jump in to get shots of unexpected moments. Notably, I am 5'3 and my partner is 6'5 and we asked for portraits where the height difference does not look awkward, and they really delivered. THANK YOU!

I emailed multiple times and left him a voicemail and just never heard back from him again within that 72 hour window.
I understand that schedules change and things come up, but the way he absolutely ghosted me when we had confirmed appointment was beyond unprofessional and I would be concerned not only about the turnaround time of receiving his photos after a shoot, but in general the reliability of hiring him.
Thankfully, I was able to hire a wonderful photographer at very short notice after he dropped our session. I work in hospitality and deal with events and vendors all the time and I have to say this was a first in my experience, definitely very disappointing.

After that experience, I did extensive research and vetting of photographers in New Orleans. From the moment, I spoke to Daniel. I knew he was the photographer I NEEDED for my wedding. He listen, understood my vision, and was equally excited for our big day. Before the wedding, he was constantly available for communication to talk details of what was and wasn't important. Daniel even worked with us on our package and took pictures during our welcomes drinks since I did not need bridals beforehand.
The day of the wedding - I couldn't of asked for a more flawless day and a lot of that was due to the fact I knew Daniel and his team were capturing all the important moment. I had emphasized how important pictures of my son and dog were and Daniel was very transparent with timing to make sure I got those photos in along with my long list of must haves. I can truly say looking at my photos now. Daniel captured my must haves and the raw moments of joy, happiness, and love throughout the ENTIRE day. I might add that I was not the easiest bride to tie down after a couple of drinks, but Daniel made sure I had pictures with the cake and important family and friends.
My husband and I are so happy with our photos and the turnaround of receiving them. As well as, loved the photo book that Daniel put together for us.
All in all, Daniel is the best. He's like a friend at the wedding just pushing you to have the best time and trying to capture those moments.

I highly recommend doing an engagement shoot with Daniel to start. We picked a place that my husband and I love and Daniel was just like a friend hanging out with us on a date. He was kind and also directive (we were worried about looking awkward and he made us feel so comfortable). After we got our engagement pictures back, we knew we made the right choice.
Leading up to the wedding, Daniel was the ultimate partner in planning. He helped us come up with an awesome timeline for the day and gave us good advice. He wasn't pushy (we didn't want to do a first look and he helped us think of ways to get some great portraits) and was super gentle (helping find the right time in the day for me to go see my grandmother who was too sick to come to the wedding).
You want your photographer to be firm but caring on your wedding day and Daniel and Stephanie were totally that. While getting ready, they constantly were checking in with me to make sure that I felt comfortable, to remind me to breathe when we were behind in our schedule, and to move my slow bridesmaids along (lol). Throughout the night they were there, capturing all the good moments but never in the way.
And y'all, THE PICTURES. So so so so so beautiful. They perfectly captured the love and fun of our evening. Low light and high light settings all came out beautifully. Pictures with our friends and families with the lightest and darkest complexions are perfect - no one is too pale or too dark.

A few weeks later he reached out and let us know that he accidentally double booked. He promised he would refer us to other good photographers but never came through with that either. Good photographer but make sure you confirm your date 17 times.

My fiancé and I knew from our first coffee meeting with him that he was the photographer for us; he was friendly, nice, knowledgeable, and funny - all important traits for someone who will be following you around for 8+ hours! In addition, he was experienced with photographing people of color of various shades well. As an African-American couple, this was a non-negotiable for us because we wanted to ensure the pictures of us and all of our family and friends of various skin tones were photographed well and with the appropriate lighting. I'm pleased to say that Daniel exceeded all of our expectations! He has an exceptional eye for angles and was somehow able to capture all of the love, joy, and fun of our day in the most beautiful ways. We met Daniel at a coffee shop for 20 min on a weekend trip to New Orleans, and within the first five, I told our wedding planner to cancel the rest of our photography meetings. (Ok tbh- I did already follow him on Insta and was already majorly fan-girling by this time.) Daniel and Steph are a 1000/10. Somehow this team took my awkward husband (sorry babe if you read this) and a hungover/emotional bride on a 98 degree day and 1. made us stunning (and unsweaty!!) and 2. captured beautiful moments I didn’t even know existed. I actually stared for an hour at our preview wedding shots in disbelief at the wizardry that is Marquez Fotos, so imagine my response when the whole gallery came through. Daniel and Steph are responsive, polite, funny, flexible, and professional magic makers and anticipated our needs before we even knew we had them. He let me see a couple while we were taking bridal portraits which put me at ease that he would capture exactly what I wanted the rest of the night. Not only does he have such an amazing talent for photography, but this guy really goes above and beyond and truly becomes exactly what you need on your big day. He was my personal hype man and was always there when I turned around to give me a reassuring smile or hand me my lipstick. I was so touched by him & Steph and feel extremely lucky that we found each other and they were there to capture our wedding day. Not to mention, my family had an absolute blast with them!!! My husband is very weird in front of cameras but it did not show in a single engagement photo, which I was super worried about! Each shot was dreamy and personal and candid and had so much feeling! One last thing before I go: we scheduled a call a week before the big day to go over details and he gave me an awesome and touching pep talk about how I should be in the moment and not care about things that go wrong (because something always does-- and it did!) and enjoy that day of celebration with my husband because we were all that mattered! If you want a talented photographer, there are many of those on here. But if you want someone who goes above and beyond, someone who will be your friend, someone who will make you comfortable in front of the camera, and someone who will make you feel like an absolute rock star, please do yourself a favor and contact him ASAP.

He was super flexible when we had to change engagement photo dates several times for the crazy New Orleans weather, and he made our engagement and wedding sessions super easy for two people who are not super photogenic or comfortable in front of the camera. Our first meeting was for our engagement photo session and he just made you feel comfortable, nothing ever felt stiff or too posed, it was fun to be around him and he was able to capture our love in photos. You can just tell he loves what he does; he's passionate about his work and making his clients feel special. He was very thorough in explaining the "day of" wedding details which was super helpful while approaching the big day. On our wedding day Daniel & Stephanie were prompt and ready to go! Again, we just felt so comfortable around the two of them. He was really able to capture every part of our wedding day from beginning to end. ngagement shoot so you can meet him and start a rapport. He made us feel completely comfortable at ours in City Park and then months later at our wedding at Race and Religious. He was on time, always had a huge smile on his face and never rushed us to be in any place at a specific time. He made sure to get all the little details of the wedding, and did so without me even asking. He was also completely accommodating to whatever we did ask of him - for example the location and set up of the First Look. This was when it was also very useful to have a second photographer to get both angles so I highly recommend going for two if you can.
Daniel’s photos are truly stunning and I was very impressed with the turnaround time - a lot of our guests commented on how quickly he got the photos back to us.
I did have notes on his photo editing and he adjusted them for me without complaint.
The only thing I will say is that he is very respectful of our personal space which is a great thing as I find sometimes photographers get insanely close to you during the ceremony and other moments, although it did mean that for example for the first dance, the photos are all taken from quite far away. But I appreciate he didn’t want to cramp our style.
We booked Daniel for 8 hours and with how things went, people didn’t really get into the dancing (and then jumping in the pool!) until after he left, which was fine for us as my sister-in-law is a wedding photographer and agreed to take photos of that part of the night, but for others I would say keep this is mind when deciding how many hours you’d like to book the photographer for, because those great party pics don’t often come until much later in the night!
Overall, we love and will cherish our beautiful photos from Daniel, and would definitely recommend working with him - he is very talented and a true gentleman.
