ded bonuses for my family and myself. We had an excellent party, felt taken care of, and were dealt with professionally and respectfully throughout the entire process. The Event Staff were also very flexible, as we had to make a number of last-minute changes to our event details!! But everything went off flawlessly, and EVERYONE at my reception had a good time. This is not easily accomplished!! However, there were some VERY minor things that happened that put a slight question in our minds. 1- My veil and bridal bouquet were put somewhere else, instead of with the other bridesmaids bouquets and decorations, so when the bridesmaids were given back their bouquets the next morning to take home, I was really worried that my bouquet had been thrown away, and my veil had been taken up with the linens... But we brought our concerns to the event staff who went back to the office area, and sure enough both were found!! 2- There was a miscommunication between the event staff and the other staff members, as the bottle of champagne and newlywed gift was sent to my parents' room, instead of to mine and my new husband's room. But we got everything where it needed to go eventually :) So, you could look at it like "Oh my goodness those bad things happened!" Or you could look at it like "Oh the Marriott could have royally messed up, but once they knew about the problem they quickly fixed it!" I choose to take the latter approach, because the Marriott took care of us the whole time. We really enjoyed working with Rafael and the rest of the Event Staff!!

Overland Park Marriott was very knowledgable in all the Hindu wedding customs and accommodations that we needed, such as an area for the baarat and hospitality rooms for hosting breakfast for our guests. Due to their experience, it made it much easier on us to plan the details of our wedding. Throughout the planning process, there were a few meetings and several thousands of emails exchanged between Christina Cook, Rafael Fernandez, our wedding planner, and ourselves. This ensured that each and every detail of our wedding weekend was meticulously planned out and that there would be no unwanted surprises on our big day. This was so helpful to us, as we moved away from Kansas City a few months before the wedding, during crunch time! It was stressful, but we knew we were in good hands with the staff at Overland Park Marriott. While experience and organization are important, we will never forget Overland Park Marriott and their enthusiasm for our wedding! Sometimes we didn't know who was more excited, us or them?! Never did they get frustrated with our constant emails or phone calls, or find a request of ours to be too big to handle. It's truly amazing what Overland Park Marriott can offer for your wedding, the sky is the limit. We highly recommend have Overland Park Marriott host your big day, you won't regret it!

f you want your day to be smooth and carefree I would recommend working with the event staff here. Rafael and Denise checked up on us during the months leading up to our wedding reception and all through the night during our reception. The food was amazing, the wait staff was friendly, the tables were decorated beautifully and we had the best night celebrating our wedding day with family and friends. This is by far the best hotel and reception venue for weddings in the Kansas City area!!

hat our consultant didn't always write down what we asked him to do. The serving of the cake did not go as planned, however I did not find this out until after. I was pretty frustrated with this. But overall everyone said how beautiful the wedding was and it turned out lovely!

we walked into the hotel after the ceremony, two Marriott folks were there dedicated to walk us through getting the party started. You'll find this very helpful with the whirlwind of a day you're experiencing. I can't say enough about Jenni. Every Marriott employee was great to us. We had visitors from out of town stay at the hotel that week. They were all impressed with the friendliness and professionalism shown by the Marriott staff. The rooms were gorgeous and comfy. LePeeps across the street became the breakfast place for everyone during the stay. The reception itself was in a ball room - well though out and beautiful. Linens and up-lighting helped create this amazing ambiance. The cake table was mirrored and absolutely gorgeous. I wish we had taken time to stop and look around more- it all moves so quickly!
