I would NOT recommend having a wedding here. I will say that the best thing this hotel has going for them is Kristina Carl, but other than that, stay away. Overall, the ballroom ...
was difficult to decorate because of the dark brown walls and the overall appearance of the room. I wanted a budget friendly wedding, but I immediately regretted booking afterwards. However, I tried to make the best of it. Then came wedding weekend. First, we had security randomly show up in our room the night before our wedding and shine a flashlight in our face at 3am. Apparently, the door had been slightly ajar when my husband ran downstairs to grab something and the security officer was "concerned." Scared me half to death when I woke up to a 300lb. man standing at the end of my bed with a light beaming in my eyes yelling at me to wake me up and ask if I was ok. Pretty much destroyed any chance of sleep I had that night. Then, the day of our wedding was almost a complete disaster. If my family wouldn't have helped the entire way through, I would have completely hated my wedding day because of how poorly it was handled and managed. I also had to argue with the front desk that night to give my parents their meal tickets for breakfast after they had paid for them. After contacting the venue manager for the wedding, I was told that "as a courtesy" they would issue 2 tickets only. Uh, yeah....we paid for it, so that makes it not a courtesy. Then, the morning of the wedding, I was locked out of my room when I went down to have breakfast. When I requested the front desk please "help me as quickly as possible" (after they had sent me up and down with 4 keys that didn't work) I was given dirty looks and told "they will get there as soon as they can ma'am..you just have to wait." I didn't get into the room for another 30 minutes after that. I barely made it in before the hair and makeup people came (and had not yet showed), which threw my entire wedding day timeline off schedule. At the reception, the wonderful food that we tasted at our tasting did not turn out at all like the food at the wedding. The food at the tasting was fantastic, hot, flavorful. The food at the wedding was dry, bland and room temperature. After dinner was served, the tables were cleared and no one ever came back to check on us, and no coffee was ever served after dinner (as I paid for). All in all the hotel was a horrible experience and that is why I would NEVER recommend having a wedding here.
