Our officiant, Jean Larson, was so helpful and understanding. We had everything we needed to make our day exactly as we wanted it - from prayers to vows to location to time. It made for our perfect private ceremony. Couldn't have asked for anything else.

She listened respectfully and made everything we wanted happen perfectly. She sent a wide variety of ceremonies to choose from or to use as a guide to write our own. She met us at our destination and professionally and lovingly performed our ceremony. It was perfect!!! As an added bonus, her husband took random photos with his cell phone during the ceremony. It was an intimate elopement on the North Shore on a warm December evening with candles on the rocks and waves splashing on the shore behind us. We will definitely renew our vows in the same place in the future with Marry Me in the Northland. She believes Love is Love with no judgment. She made it very clear that All are Welcome to use her services. It was perfect!

Marry Me In The Northland is great! We connected with Jill the minute we spoke with her on the phone. We were initially nervous about someone we had never met marrying us, relating to us , and really making our day special. After all, these were people who knew nothing about us. We spoke with Jill on the phone a couple times, we told her about us, our family, our life and it was like she had known us for years. She helped with any questions we had along the way and offered suggestions to us to help us really put together the ceremony we wanted. I would highly recommend Marry Me In The Northland!

My husband and I booked Marry Me in the Northland for our September 2022 wedding and were happy with the services they provided. We booked them because wanted someone who was a professional- not a friend or family member- but we wanted a secular ceremony, so didn't want to go with a pastor or priest. The templates Annette provided made it easy to choose a ceremony that felt like "us." Sarah was our officiant and did a fantastic job. We really appreciated how efficient she was, both for the ceremony and the rehearsal the night before. We were in great hands and would recommend her to others as well.

Annette was helpful in creating a ceremony that was customized for us. She provided some sample ceremonies so we were able to pick and choose from those and add in some of our own material to create a ceremony that fit us as a couple. She even helped us edit our ceremony on the day of due to illness. She brought large print copies of our readings for the ceremony which was very helpful. Annette was responsive and provided helpful feedback so our ceremony fit us and our timeline. She did a wonderful job on the day of making sure that everything still flowed smoothly with the last minute changes.

Annette was so wonderful to work with! My now husband and I eloped to Duluth and we had the most magical wedding. Annette was central to our amazing experience. She listened, customized our ceremony to what we wanted and was just wonderful. I'd recommend Annette to anyone!

Annette was very personable and intuitive. She guided us in planning our wedding with suggestions we would have never considered ultimately tailoring our wedding to our environment...she officiated our wedding outdoors at 9 degrees above zero! Annette was very timely in responding to our communications and questions and her fees were more than fair. She arrived for our wedding on time with her husband Herb. Barring that we did not hire a photographer Herb stepped in and guided us in posing our ceremony with the most beautiful backdrop we could have hoped for...Herbs photos were sent via email within 24 hours at no charge and used on Facebook to announce our wedding. Annette and Herb are wonderful people and the best 'coaches' a couple could hope for in planning an outdoor wedding on the banks of a river under snow covered pine trees on a Winter Solstice.

Annette had such a great personality and did a wonderful job with our ceremony. She gave us the full freedom to personalize the ceremony and really make it our own while still making helpful suggestions to keep everything moving smoothly. A great process and outcome, definitely recommend it!!

Marry Me In The Nothland (Annette Lahr) constructed and officiated our wedding. She did a phenomenal job - we got so many compliments about how great and personal our ceremony was. Annette was great at listening to what we had in mind and understanding our vision. Not to mention her husband who was also a HUGE help with the ceremony and making sure it went off without a hitch. Her and her hubby were a joy to work with- very responsive, attentive and personable!

We had a couple out of the ordinary requests for our ceremony including having our dogs in the wedding and having the groom enter from the pier, Annette was willing to work with us and make them happen, tossing in tips or ways to make things go smoothly when needed. Annette Lahr was a fantastic wedding officiant! Our ceremony was beautiful and she was very helpful. I really hadn't even been to many weddings before our own, and we were a little lost on what to put in our ceremony. Annette was the BEST! Working with her was SOOO easy and she was very understanding. She was always quick to respond and she made it easy to customize our ceremony in whatever way we wanted. She really took the time to understand us and what we represented!!! Her team (Annette and her husband) handled, or at least had all necessary answers for all details regarding our ceremony. They were prepared for anything and everything and they really put our minds at ease during our rehearsal. They walked us through every step and made sure WE were comfortable before moving on. Prior to my daughter finding Marry Me In the Northland, we were getting a little frantic about finding an officiant for an outdoor wedding in the Minocqua, WI area. It wasn't my daughter's vision to have an overly religious ceremony, and non-clergy wedding officiants were proving hard to locate. Thankfully, she found Marry Me In the Northland, and Jean Larson officiated. The ceremony was beautiful. Jean worked with my daughter and son-in-law, and helped them craft a ceremony that was touching, meaningful, and uniquely theirs. Jean was a delight to meet and work with, and we had a wonderful time chatting with her before and after the ceremony. We highly recommend their services!

We originally started working with Annette for our wedding officiant services and she was a joy to talk to and work with! The attention to getting to know you and your partner was great! Through the COVID pandemic, we endured many changes to our original plan. When we changed our date for the third time, Annette was more than willing to make it work. Although she was not available for the date, she assured us she would pair us with another wonderful officiant - Jean Larson. We are SO thankful for Jean, as she was so easy to work with and was very pleasant to be around. Her speaking/officiating was so genuine & heartfelt.

Jean was a delight to work with, she was so professional and had a ton of options for ceremonies to choose from and accommodated any changes to the vows we wanted to make our ceremony our own, and on the recording of our wedding she was well spoken and at a great volume we didn't even need microphones!

Working with Jill was a pleasure for our intimate wedding on 10/10/2020! She was early to our Madeline Island ceremony (which was no small feat when taking into account the ferry schedule) so that we could run through the ceremony on site. Putting together a ceremony that was special for both of us and our family's was easy with Annette's help! Called Marry Me in the Northland to request an officiant and got super lucky to not only have more than one officiant available on short notice but that the officiant we were matched up with was just fantastic! We were so lucky to find Annette as we planned our wedding ceremony. We were having the hardest time blending family desires into our dream day, but with the help of Annette we were able to create a beautiful ceremony that will be remembered forever. Annette’s commitment to us as a couple made us feel grounded and prepared to enter our wedding day. Her presentation of the material throughout the ceremony was flawless, as if she had it memorized. You will not be disappointed when working with Annette, or anyone from Marry Me in the Northland.

Though my partner, Josh, and I - both in our early sixties and previously married  - shared a keep-things-simple mantra in relation to our wedding,  great effort was required, through most of 2020 and its COVID complications,  to adapt plans and manage expectations. By September, wedding rings and clothing were in place, but our license was still pending (following a county records error) and we were having difficulty finding a Minneapolis-based officiant whose availability aligned with ours and that of our respective sons and their partners (as witnesses) and a dear friend's who'd offered to make a cake for our backyard, no more than ten, distanced/masked wedding.  With a long-awaited and much-needed North Shore vacation in view, and disappointment-fatigue mounting, I declared that I was tired of wedding planning and was going to focus on vacation planning. However, I found myself unable to resist one last online search for Duluth-area officiants who might be available during the dates of our trip - which led me/us to Marry Me in the Northland (MMN), and Annette.    I submitted a Monday late-afternoon query through the MMN website to the effect of 'it's probably a longshot, but would Annette be available on any of the following dates.' Shortly afterward, Annette replied - positively - with dates and times, and suggested that we talk directly the next morning. Chatting with Annette felt like a conversation with a longtime friend. My spirits lightened considerably - and perhaps synchronously, our corrected wedding license arrived in that day's mail. Between that Tuesday morning conversation and our early Saturday afternoon ceremony. Annette maintained close contact despite her busy schedule. She was warm, funny, and a good listener,  professional and organized. She understood that Josh and I had adapted from a simple wedding plan to an impromptu elopement and made sure that it felt special and expressive of us as a couple. Her colleagues, Jean and Jason, who served as our witnesses and photographers, were equally gracious. Ultimately, our wedding, on the shore of Lake Superior, beneath Leif Erikson Park's rose garden - Annette's suggested location -  in unseasonable Fall warmth, felt as lovely and perfect as it could possibly be.  Next week, when members of our original wedding party belatedly gather to celebrate, we will raise a toast to Annette, Jean and Jason for giving us this most memorable day.

Hands down Annette is the best. She married us in September 2020. She made the whole process super easy. She also helped with recombination for makup, venues, and great places to eat (not even wedding related) she also helped me personally (im the bride) when the pandemic threatened i wedding plans Annette was there for me and helped me calm down and helped with back plans. If you want a stress free wedding you need to hire her !! We can't say enough good. She Truly made are wedding amazing.

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Jean as our wedding officiant in July 2020. Due to planning a wedding in the middle of a pandemic, and having to change our plans more then once, it wound up being a very stressful wedding. Jean was so great to speak to, eased our minds, and helped us pick out a perfect script for the day that was beautiful. We had planned to get married on a Saturday but due to more pandemic problems we had to cancel that wedding, the day before it, and reschedule for a totally different day and time. We had the pleasure of working with Annette and Marry Me In The Northland for our wedding on June 27, 2020. Our original officiant, who is a family friend, was no longer able to attend due to COVID-19. From our first contact with Marry Me in the Northland, we felt heard and taken care of. Annette was our officiant and did a wonderful job. Many guests, who were present or tuned in through Zoom, commented on how great she led the ceremony. I would absolutely recommend Marry Me in the Northland!

Jean Larson performed our ceremony and from the initial email to the day of the event, she was professional and easy to work with. She responded to every email within hours and when we asked for additional Reading options, she sent over plenty. She helped us organize and write out the perfect ceremony! On the day of, she was incredibly punctual and professional. We were nervous having never met Jean since we live in the cities and she lives up north but everything went perfectly. Even our family members that were able to attend (COVID) commented on what a nice job she did. I would definitely recommend!

Annette was so easy and wonderful to work with. She made eloping easy, especially as we were working on postponing our wedding due to Covid. She helped us find a spot as we were traveling from several hours away and spent time helping us customize the ceremony to what we wanted. She certainly helped us find some joy out of not having our big wedding this year.

Annette was professional, calm, and punctual. We were really impressed with her ability to help us on short notice. She is kind and supportive no matter what type of ceremony you want to have. She also asked some probing questions about elements that I had not considered yet, but I'm so glad that she did! I got married on June 6, 2020 and it was all pretty last-minute planning as my original plans had been cancelled due to COVID-19. My elopement planner got me in contact with Annette at Marry Me in The Northland and immediately when I spoke with her on the phone, she had a calming and reassuring personality. She let us have a say in all parts of the ceremony and helped make it wonderful. On the day of the wedding, just as she did on the phone, she helped calm and reassure us and made our ceremony beautiful and everything we hoped for!

Annette was really good with correspondence in email and phone calls, but during the ceremony she talked so quietly neither my wife nor I could really hear her, let alone our wedding guests. She made the entire process very easy, but she was just so quiet. I think a microphone would be good if you plan on hiring her.

Annette married us last week! We got to pick our vows! The day of she walked us through everything and didn't rush through the vows which we appreciated the most. Everything went smoothly and she helped make our day perfect!

I can not recommend Marry Me in the Northland enough! My fiancé and I worked with Annette for our ceremony. Annette called us to get a sense of our wedding and answer any questions. She makes the process easy by proving a document so you can create your own ceremony. This was so helpful for us! The ceremony was beautiful and Annette made it such a special occasion for us. She is very calming and so kind. I also appreciated her ability to recommend vendors for our wedding. We are from out of town so having that information helped us plan all aspects of the wedding.

Annette's calming presence was so amazing on our big day. She kept our ceremony simple and sweet which was exactly what we had asked for. We held our wedding 7 hours from where we live but planning the ceremony was a breeze. We conference called with her and she talked us though the ceremony, obtaining a marriage license and the plan for the day. I would highly recommend hiring Annette for wedding and elopement ceremonies.

Annette was great to work with during our planning stage. She was very helpful as we planned our ceremony to be personal to us. She was fantastic in helping us understanding the paperwork that needed to be filled out beforehand. We appreciated her very soft and gentle voice for our ceremony. The reason I give 2 stars is because there are things that she needs to improve on, specifically how she runs rehearsals. At our rehearsal, she did not discuss anything that was vitally important for the next day. We only practiced walking up and down the aisle and then several other mundane details that didn't matter at all. The rehearsal took much longer than it needed to be because of this. The extra long rehearsal was upsetting because it took away precious time I had with extended family who were waiting for us to return to the rehearsal dinner. I had a close family friend that was going to speak during our ceremony for about 10 minutes and she said that was way too long. When I told her I trusted him to do a great job she put her hand up to me and said, "I hear you" and then turned her back to me. I felt like she didn't always listen to my wishes and placed herself as the expert in each situation regardless of what I wanted. I didn’t want to say or ask anything during the rehearsal in fear that it would take 10 minutes to get an answer. The first thing I saw when I started walking down the aisle on our wedding day was Annette telling my husband to take a step forward and him looking at the floor because of her unnecessary disruption. I don't mean any ill will in this review, I'm stating how I felt during our experience: both good and bad. At the end of the day, Annette did well at what we hired her to do: marry us on our wedding day.

We worked with Jean for our wedding ceremony. She was lovely to work with and seems like a fun human in general. We received several compliments from our wedding guests about how she had a very soothing voice and was easy to listen to! I thought she also had a very calming presence, which was helpful for a very introverted bride not excited to stand in front of a crowd of people! She did such a great job officiating our wedding ceremony! We decided to keep our ceremony short and sweet and Jean helped us make that happen! Overall I'd highly recommend working with Marry Me in the Northland- especially Jean!!

We had Annette as our officiant and we are so happy to have worked with her! She was wonderful in every way! She always responded quickly to my numerous questions and did not pressure my husband and I in any way to go any certain direction with our ceremony! Highly recommend! You also get to customize your entire ceremony, which my husband and I loved due to wanting a short, non-religious ceremony.

Annette was our officiant for our last minute elopement. On our way to the ceremony location (a state park) it was pouring rain with lightning and wasn’t supposed to let up for three hours. We made a last minute decision to go to another nearby park with a pavilion near the river. Annette was flexible with that adjustment and even suggested that we wait for the rain to let up so we could stand near the river. Not even 10 minutes after she said that, the rain stopped, and the sun came out. I’m so glad she suggested that. It turned out to be a very beautiful and special ceremony.
