stening to him speak, we knew we had found the perfect match! He spoke of the trials and tribulations of marriage, and of how rewarding the bond between husband and wife could be. We booked him right away, but sadly we had to postpone our wedding twice due to Covid and an unexpected pregnancy. Throughout the chaos of rescheduling all of our vendors and informing our guests of our decision to postpone, Reverend Roy could not have been more accommodating and patient. He was always quick to answer any questions we had, and always did so in a professional manner. He drove over an hour to the venue the night before the wedding so that we were able to hold a rehearsal, and he did so without complaint. When wedding time rolled around, he reached out frequently to see if we needed anything. Selecting readings was very simple and hassle free. He was always open to any suggestions and changes we wished to make. On the big day, Reverend Roy checked in on me while I was in hiding several times to see how I was holding up (probably making sure I wasn't getting cold feet! LOL!). Our ceremony readings were absolutely beautiful and completely personalized to our love story. We were even able to add a "Prayer for the Family" into our ceremony since there was a blending of families taking place. It was such a beautiful moment, including my stepdaughters and son into the ceremony. After the ceremony, we received so many compliments on how beautiful the service was. Many of my guests approached me throughout the night saying how touched they were by the service. Many said they were in tears throughout the entire ceremony! We are so grateful to have found Reverend Roy on The Knot and highly recommend his services to anyone looking for a professional, yet caring officiant. Only thing is that I proofread the ceremony like a month before it took place, so I knew exactly what was coming at every point. Kinda pulled me out of the moment and made it feel a little performance like, so I’d advise either doing it earlier or having someone else proofread it for you. We were still glad we were able to pick everything out so there were no bad surprises or anything we didn’t agree with in there.

ysicians, we were both quite limited in our time, and choosing the perfect officiant seemed like a daunting task. Nevertheless, we found Reverend Thomas on TheKnot's website and really enjoyed his reviews as well as the videos he had posted. He accommodated us with a video conference to get to know each other and discuss our unique situation of being out-of-town for the majority of the time leading up to the wedding. Reverend Thomas's calm optimism and reassuring words set us at ease. We were happy to find that he truly is invested in making the ceremony as tailored as possible to the bride and groom's taste. He gave us plenty of resources (but never felt overloaded by them) and different ways to customize our ceremony to perfection. The sample ceremonies and sample readings were a huge help and gave us some great ideas in regards to aspects of the ceremony we hadn't even thought of. He was always patient with us and very responsive via email or phone. Importantly, he was punctual for the wedding rehearsal and the ceremony. He even gave us options for which clothing style he would wear to the ceremony (religious robes, suit, etc). Reverend Thomas did an excellent job with the ceremony itself and made the logistics of taking care of the marriage license very straightforward. many options to include or exclude from our particular ceremony. We had some special needs and he was amazing and accommodating regarding those. He made himself freely available to us for questions and helped us with ideas that were used. He prayed with us and prayed for us. He gave us a toast after the wedding at our celebration gathering and gave us a gift bag of wonderful items. I could go on and on about what a great ceremony he provided for us and what a terrific experience it was having him as our wedding officiant but, suffice it to say that in my whole life, and I am 54, I have never come across a better wedding officiant than Reverend Roy. A couple of other things I'll mention before I finish my review. Reverend Roy is a believer in Jesus if that is important to you and he has a good sense of humor. There is no need to look elsewhere if you are in need of a top notch, professional, organized, kind-hearted and helpful wedding officiant.

comfortable. We were fortunate enough to kick off our ceremony without rain but it started to sprinkle, but Roy already had talked to us before about contingency plans. He adjusted quickly and shortened it up, without compromising much or making it less meaningful. No one knew the difference—we got so many compliments on the ceremony. We were really nervous about the rain but Roy kept everyone positive and calm.
After the ceremony, Roy gave a beautiful blessing for us at the reception—and also made everyone laugh! We couldn’t be more happy that we chose Roy for be our officiant. He and his wife stayed for the dinner and we had multiple people come up to us to say how nice they both were.

Earlier in the week, my grandma had ended up in the hospital and could not make the wedding. Roy ended up coming to the reception and sat with my grandpa. My grandpa usually does not mention liking to talk with people however he has had so many good things to say about him. I had been worried about how my grandpa would do with my grandma in the hospital, but he loved talking with Roy and my worries were at ease. Our wedding ceremony was not as traditional as other weddings (we had a mix of German and English-speakers in attendance) but Roy was happy to work with us. After the wedding ceremony, many of our guests commented on how genuine he seemed, and asked us how long we have known him. He is very personable, genuine, and made us feel very comfortable during the wedding ceremony and rehearsal.
